awesome! tbh i cant wait for you guys to watch my fave batman movie, lego batman ❤️

The Amazing Webhead

I’m happy you got to watch personally, my favorite Batman movie and to many as well. This is one of the movies where my passion of filmmaking originated and it paid off with now attending university and in a couple of film classes. Heath Ledger is in the top 3 best Jokers and arguably up there with Mark Hamill for iconic Joker. This is basically the Killing Joke with the concept of Joker in a way was the main character showing Gotham the ideology of “one bad day” with using Harvey as the Candidate. The one line I love was when Joker talked to Batman in the ending where he said “I think you and I are destined to do this forever.” It was such a meta line that their rivalry will go on until the end of time. :)

The Amazing Webhead

If you’re wondering, Rachel was a original character made for the trilogy and clearly, if she was more popular, they would had included her in the comics but unfortunately that didn’t happen. Then again I did like you guys back and forth opinions on her. 😅

2026-09-19 17:00 Yesss! One of my fav Batman films and I love the ending of this one sooo much the music but how everything Bruce heard from Harvey when they first met came back in the quote he said to Gordon , & Bruce really wanted Harvey to succeed since Batman wasn’t really cleaning up Gotham permanently. And Batman racing to get Rachel before the bomb just screams Jason Todd omg they got soo much right with these films

When they were first writing Batman Begins, Rachel was originally written as Rachel Caspian who was a one-shot character from Batman: Year Two, by the end of the book she becomes a Nun, so a completely different outcome for her haha. They later changed the last name to Dawes, so technically she was a comic character. Year Two isn’t the best Batman book, but elements were borrowed from it and used in Mask of the Phantasm, and to a lesser extent Batman Begins. Peace out✌️

Really do love this film remember watching the trailer in 2008 at a friends house when we were only 8 years old while we waited for the movie to come out in July 2008. That same year we even went to a Halloween part dressed up as Joker and Batman, so did a lot of people. Then in 2009 Batman: Arkham Asylum released so a great time to be a Batman fan. David Goyer who wrote the screenplay stated “For me, there are three major comic book influences within the Batman lore. There’s Year One, the Neal Adams stuff, and there is The Long Halloween. But by the time The Dark Knight comes out, it will become apparent that Long Halloween is the preeminent influence on both movies.” From a visual Standpoint I'm not a big fan of Gotham itself feels much more like Chicago than Gotham City something I find really distracting as the whole, The atmosphere of Gotham is missing along with the gothic revival architecture and Art Deco aesthetic. Nolan's Gotham also changes massively each film so it's a little distracting once you notice it as all three films feel like they're set in three different cities. Much prefer Batman Begins in this area even though I prefer The Dark Knight as a film. I think Batman 89 and Returns spoiled us with it's depiction of Gotham along with stuff like the Animated Series and later the Arkham Games. But this is more of a personal thing I know people who didn't mind this Gotham as it was there first introduction to the city who then went into Batman 89 and was really surprised with how different the city looked. The Batman which you have seen has a great Gotham, kind of what 8 year old me wanted in this film after seeing Batman Begins. Overall an amazing film and still one of the best Superhero movies to date. Mask of the Phantasm is still my favourite theatrical released Batman film along with the The Lego Batman Movie which is just so good draws heavily from the Burton Batman as a lot of the Lego designs were modelled off Burtons Batman and Gotham. Lego Batman is just a love letter to all things Batman so I'd recommend at least watching most of the Batman movies first.

Still a masterpiece 15 years later. Joker is probably at his scariest when his entire goal is to corrupt good people by driving them to their breaking point, even turn them into more supervillains. Also his main reason to keep doing horrible things to Batman; to try and get him to snap and break his rule. Troll mentality, one of the scourges of the 21st century.

I’ve watched this film so many times, and it never gets old. One of my favorite Batman movies (and just one of my favorite movies period!)

At 1:04:50 the old guy who the Joker threatens at the party is Senator Patrick Leahy of Vermont. He's been a batman fan all his life and has cameos in 4 batman movies, one other DC movie and one episode of the animated series. Also detective Stephens, the one detective with the raspy voice who made it to the end seemed heavily inspired by detective Harvey Bullock from the comics and animated series. Anna Ramirez seemed based off Detective Renee Montoya. The actor who plays detective Stephens does a lot of voice work in cartoons and video games, he was Joshua Graham in fallout New Vegas, as well as multiple voices in the Mass Effect games and a bunch of other stuff.

I love this movie. I love the knight motif throughout the whole movie. Batman isn't a hero he does unethical choices with good intentions to make the right choice. Dent is painted as the white knight and as Gordon says " shining". But Batman isn't the hero he resorts to spying on the whole population of gotham and he doesn't turn himself in despite people dying. It is perfect. In my opinion this is as perfect a movie as it goes. Heat Ledger IS my live action action joker. Aaron Eckharts portrayal as Two-Face is heavily underrated. Also Alfred's speeches this movie was chefs kiss.

Mage Reacts

That line always hits hard in multiple ways. One, because it’s such a fun nod to their lore and history, and two, because we never got to see what Heath would have done if he could’ve been in the sequel. Such an epic line

Mage Reacts

Oh my god, that’s so cool! I love how they sprinkle in fan service like that
