Hell yeah I'm so ready for season 2. Even though on HBO Max this is still season 1, technically this is the beginning of season 2. There's some really good episodes in this season, including this one. Also depending on your schedule, you'll probably be able to fly through this season and season 3 since there are less episodes and I think this is the last multi-part episode of the whole series. The rest are all single episodes. But I'm so ready for season 2!

Birth of batgirl! Happy you got to see this and how Barbra just came about on her own after batman told her to stay out of it and even robin wanted her out to a point. And no one at this point knows barbra is batgirl the guy who took off her mask is in acoma so he ain't saying shit. And it depends on the story who knows I guess like Gordon doesn't know but if he does he usually doesn't talk to barbra about it , he supports her but never out right tells her he knows . Barbra is like maybe 2 years younger than dick but there both in college

Hey you made it to the Batgirl origin episodes. Yeah the adaptations show the origin of each character similar but differently depending on the story. For example, Barbara became Batgirl due to a villain crashing a costume party that Jim Gordon attended. She was wearing Bat costume during it. Also glad you are enjoying the Dick/Barbara dynamic. Barbara and another DC character you haven’t met yet are Dick’s two main love interests. Barbara often as Dick’s true love which is why fans were confused when in the Arkham games they paired her up with Tim Drake which is awkward considering most depictions of Tim are younger than her and Dick. Also no one knows Barbara is Batgirl as Gill was revealed to be in a coma so he won’t say anything.

Batgirl Begins! Great way to start S2. I like how Barbara starts out by impersonating Batman publicly only to develop her own variation on it, even getting her own theme song. Harvey made it very personal for her by framing her father. Gordon does not know yet, something that becomes important later on.

Love this 2 parter! Used to have it on VHS and would watch it over and over again lol For comic recommendations, there’s one called Batgirl Year One that’s really good (they really milked that Year One title after the success of the Batman Year One story lol) In the 90s through 2011 Barbara Gordon as Oracle was in a series called Birds of Prey, where she gives intel to superheroes (usually Black Canary and/or Huntress) who go on espionage type missions, and what I’ve read of that is really good. Gail Simone’s run on that series gets particularly high praise, but I have t had a chance to read her run yet. But, in 2011 there was a company wide relaunch/softish reboot which had her going back to being Batgirl, and Gail Simone’s run on that Batgirl series is amazing.

The two part episode of the debut of BATGIRL!!! First of all Bruce Timm should've known long ago that she is supposed to be Batman's young underling and nothing more and that sex that happened between them in The Killing Joke movie was not even supposed to happen cause it was not canon from the actual comic novel anyway. Second if you hadn't been talking you would've heard that Gil was in a coma from when he knocked his head from Batgirl kicking him, so NO he couldn't tell anyone that she was Barbara Gordon.

Yeah the whole Batman × Barbra thing with Bruce Timm was awkward. It doesn't get fully realized in this series but it does in the the series Batman Beyond and in the The movie 'Mystery of the Batwoman' (that came out during Batman Beyond). Fans weren't happy. It's been a Bruce Timm head cannon thing.
