The Amazing Webhead

This was unexpected but amazing! This movie & the graphic novel it’s based on is one of the most iconic Batman stories ever told. I will say that it is non canon set in an alternate timeline of the main universe of the comics where what would happen if Batman retired and came back years later. You might had notice that certain elements of this carried over to other media. The Dark Knight trilogy for example, in Rises where it was years after TDK and it’s an older retired Bruce coming back. Lol Always fun to have Easter eggs like that. Carrie Kelly is the first female Robin but not the last.

Finally! I love how they have all the news broadcasts in this and what they think with their varying opinions on batman and the city as a whole. Especially Bruce's mental state in becoming Batman again like he didn't even remember shaving his face before he went to the batcave. And yea idk much about Carrie Kelly as Robin even in the comics its not fully explained in this of Frank millers run anyway. Seeing Harvey and even tho he had the surgery him knowing all thsoe years he was mentally never gonna be harvey again and it relating to Bruce was so sad and seeing Lana was great yea makes you wonder what happened to all the other heroes if they retired or not. And can't wait to see what Jokers comeback party is gonna be like ^^ so happy your watching DC Meg! Its never explained why fully even in the comics if I'm correct but Bruce was already part of the Justice league and such also before and they had to disband as well for a government reasoning.

Very cool to see you start this amazing journey, The Dark Knight and most of Frank Miller work is heavy on political satire especially based on the political climate of the 80's and you will def see it in Part 2 and how some characters are used

Yeah, I’d say this is definitely one of the best Batman stories ever told! Regarding the older Batman, I kinda remember Frank Miller saying he was feeling ancient in his oh-so-old 30s, so he wanted to write a Batman that was struggling with age. And yeah, I love Peter Weller (also known for starring as Robocop in the original Robocop movies) as the older Batman. Kevin Conroy will always be my favorite, but this performance was pretty special, too! Can’t wait for your reaction to Part 2!

Definitely one of the best Batman stories and movies ever done. It's definitely in my top 5 for Batman movies and one of my top favorites of DC movies in general. I absolutely can't wait to see what you think of Part 2 as well as I think it's just as amazing as part 1. Also looking at the animated list that Rubi put together, it looks like after TDKR Part 1 and 2, the next movie is Green Lantern: Emerald Knights, which is an awesome movie. And the one after that is Superman vs. The Elite, which to me personally is probably the best Superman movie ever next to the live action 1978 movie. So I can't wait to when you eventually get to those as well!

This is such a good adaptation of the graphic novel. You're correct that Chris Nolan's Dark Knight Rises drew a lot of inspiration from from the Dark Knight Returns. For example the scene with the old and young cop reacting to Batman's return is almost identical to Batman's return in The Dark Knight Rises. In both versions the old cop says to the young one, "You're in for a show tonight." Also yeah that Batman theme music goes hard. I love it. Someone above already mentioned that Batman is voiced by Peter Weller. I love that they got 1980s Robocop to voice Batman.

This and year one are technically happening in the same universe. I think all the animated movies you’ve seen so far have been unconnected, there are a few different groupings of movies happening in the same timeline.
