Green Lantern: Emerald Knights

One of the books I sent you, circles around a number of characters including Martian Manhunter (A new guy for you), and Flash (Barry Allen), but Hal is the main man! Some great actors in this like Steve Blum, probably best known as the voice of Wolverine, and Jason Isaacs is the perfect choice for Sinestro! He was also Ra's al Ghul in Under the Red Hood.

I liked the princess one and Kilowag and Abinsure stories the most but I do love just how diverse the Green lanterns are and the planet just being one is crazy. DC has so many god type characters like Wonder woman being Greek gods and then we got planets just being alive lol

2022? Oh God please no; not Green Lantern: Beware My Power, it's sohhhhhh bad, eugh...

I'm so happy you finally watched and enjoyed Emerald Knights! It's one of my favorite DC films! Laira is definitely my favorite story! I love them all though! I highly recommend The Green Lantern Animated series! It's only one season and it's so incredible! It's so ridiculously awesome! You also learn about more of the elements and such! Also reading wise Green Lantern by Geoff Johns Omnibus vol 1 - 3 and Green Lantern Corps Omnibus by Peter J Tomasi!

Also Laira does appear in Geoff Johns Omnibus vol 1 and 2

I do recommend reading infinite crisis before reading the Sinestro Corps War that is in volume 1 of the Geoff Johns Omnibus vol 1.

Always love a good Green Lantern story! And yeah, I agree that, while this is good, First Flight is the better overall movie. But this does do a good job of giving a bit of an overview of the Green Lantern Corps, which is nice. And I love Nathan Fillion as Hal! He’s actually going to be playing a Green Lantern in the next live action Superman movie! Not Hal though. A different Green Lantern that I don’t think you’ve come across yet named Guy Gardener. Also, outside of Emerald Knights, the main comic that I’ve seen her featured in is Geoff Johns’ run on Green Lantern. I’d say it’s a relatively small role, but an important one. Geoff Johns wrote Green Lantern for about a decade, and it’s definitely a run worth collecting if you want more Green Lantern!

I enjoyed this movie a lot too. It was different to First Flight in that we get to listen to the stories about other Lanterns instead of focusing on Hal. But I really liked the stories of all of them. This also gave a little more knowledge on the Green Lanterns and a glimpse of one of the other elements, which you also saw in First Flight, the yellow element. As they explained in this movie, the green element represents willpower and anyone who possess such great willpower are chosen to be Green Lanterns. Whereas the yellow element represents fear and anyone who can instill great fear can be Yellow Lanterns or as they're mostly known as, the Sinestro Corps. There are other colored elements/Lantern Corps out there but I'm not going to spoil it since you'll be able to find out about some of them once you react to the Green Lantern Animated Series. I know you said that you would want to get your own Green Lantern ring (which I think would be great) but who knows you might change your mind once you know about the other Lantern Corps. In fact, once you do get to learn more about them, I'd think it would be fun to see which Lantern Corps each of us in your community would be in, based on whatever emotion we are strongly connected to since the elements are all connected to what is known as the Emotional Spectrum. Funnily enough you mentioning Star Wars cause a lot of people have said that the Lanterns are kind of like DC's Star Wars. But I'm as excited as you are to get into all this DC stuff and I'm all for you doing a binge of reactions for the DC shows and movies this holiday. That would be the best gift or rather gifts ever! For the shows though, I would mainly focus on finishing BTAS season 2 since there is an episode that might be confusing in the middle part of season 2 of STAS. But you're about 6 or 7 episodes away from it so you can still bounce between the two shows. I also can't wait for you to react to Young Justice as well and Teen Titans. Those are both really great and iconic shows, especially Teen Titans. As for the next animated movie, I would recommend the next one on the list, Superman vs The Elite. I think I mentioned it before but it's probably my favorite Superman movie of all time mainly due to the subjects they deal with and a lot of the dialogue in it. But if you want to jump around the list a bit, I wouldn't mind you watching Batman: Soul of the Dragon next since I think you said you wanted to watch that as well. Up to you though. But I'm so glad we're back with more DC content and I'm hopefully looking forward to a bunch more this holiday!

I am really looking forward to when you get to one of my favorite animated movies Superman vs The Elite

Purple Yoshi

My vote for the next DC animated movie you watch is Superman vs. The Elite, it’s my personal favourite Superman movie

Unstablebeast

the reason why bruce was never chosen as a lantern (in main continuity atleast) is because while he has extremely strong will, he also both has and inspires much fear, the enemy of will. superman is similar, hes always afraid to hurt someone and his will is actually shaken rather often

Just realized I never said “her” name, but in that 2nd paragraph I was talking about Laira (just in case it wasn’t clear 🙂)
