Homecoming is such a great sad story, I’m glad you enjoyed it too! Her helmet is in Reach too if you want to rock it when you play that, btw. The short story “Dirt” from Halo: Evolutions has a very similar vibe to this, so I’d recommend giving that a read

To answer your questions about the whole Spartan Program stuff (no spoilers): There are no Spartan-Is, there was the Orion Program that was also a super soldier program. The II in Spartan IIs is there as acknowledgement of the Orion Program’s efforts. There was only 1 class of Spartan-IIs, so the age difference between IIs is like 3 or 4 years maximum. They obviously wanted to make more, but a single suit of MJOLNIR costs as much as an entire Frigate, so they’re EXPENSIVE.

The clone didn't kill herself, there were 2 other Spartans that escaped that did that. Clones are born with various diseases that cause them to die quickly. Halsey explains that she would've used the clones if she could, but can't because of how clones are created. Daisy's clone managed to live 7 years and died of diseases. Also, Ralph is dead

The "Flash Clones" that Halsey created were specifically designed to die shortly after puberty. It was part of the cover up when they were kidnapped. Steal the children, replace them with clones that would shortly die, thus nobody would come looking for them.

Can’t wait for you to listen to “HUNT THE TRUTH” season 1 and 2 after Halo 4. A journalist trying to find the back story of John-117. Sooooooooo goodddddddd

(For Halo Reach and for the question at the end of this video) Spartan Ones are a super solider project that wasn’t done by doctor Halsey. This project is also known as Orion Super Soldiers. Spartan-II Projects as we all know are done by Doctor Halsey. By the time of Halo Reach, the Spartan 2 project was already completed and Spartans from the project are deployed. Spoiler Info About Spartan-III Spartan-III are what you might call cheaper alternative to Spartan-2. It wasn’t overseen by doctor Halsey and they were made in large numbers. They were mostly made up of orphans. This context is important for Halo Reach knowing Spartan-III exist and that while are Spartan-IIs on Reach at the time. The game doesn’t tell you that there are 2s and 3s but there are subtle hints

I completely forgot about "Never Let Me Go" until you mentioned it Meg. That book was great, thought provoking, and sad. Now that I'm thinking about it there's a lot of parallels with the Halo series. In the halo books cloning a full human in the UNSC is illegal because the clones bodies break down and they only live for a couple years. But that didn't stop Dr. Halsey from making a bunch of clones anyway. That's why that clone was in a wheelchair. It's legal to clone organs and those work fine, but cloning a full human is a no-no.
