I think pouf's actions have both a selfish and a selfless element to them, he does this thinking it's good for meruem and at the same time he's fighting to keep his life's purpose from slipping away. As pitou thought meruem would lose himself without komugi, i think pouf thinks meruem would lose himself with her.

I feel the whole amnesia angle with the king was a bit weird tbh..but then again he got nuked by Netero so idk.. I do feel the next couple of episodes are going to make you cry a lot lol

Just like in the episode where the king was asking for his name, Pitou's priority is his feelings and I believe that Pitou would tell the king about Komugi. Especially when Pitou felt how the king felt when Dragon Dive injured her. She knew how much Komugi meant to her and even said the king wouldn't be himself without Komugi.

It's so we can see what he would act like without remembering Komugi, aka, the person that triggered his whole development in the first place. At this point he's still wavering, like Netero said, between human and ant. Spoilers: Once he remembers her his attitude changes again, you can even see how pre-Komugi he tells Pouf to do whatever he wants with the prisoners once he's done interrogating them, but post-Komugi he orders him to release them once he's done.

After he gets his memories back he specifically tells him to release them And yea, like the person above me said, he doesn't learn his fate till he meets with Palm
