If you're interested to continue the adventure after the anime, you can read the manga on MangaPlus (I think it's available in your country). I personally would suggest you girls to read it at your own pace and re-read it as many times as needed because it gets very complex in some parts.

I think the reason they skipped Gon reuniting with Killua is because it would be awkward to then say goodbye after a short montage.

Does that have official translations?? Cause there's a lot of awful fan translations out. I'd recommend they literally buy Volume 33-37 by Viz and call it a day.

The only way they can actually watch Naruto is with the Ocean Cut. There are 90 episodes between 50 and 80 minutes long, although there are also four episodes that are over 90 minutes long. Unnecessary stretching, filler scenes, filler episodes and the like have all been cut out. It's practically like One Pace for One Piece. Or they watch Naruto Kai, which does the same, but has much longer episodes, but only 50 episodes and is subbed instead of dubbed.

one piece would be better if they did a long show, it's more up their ally but even then might just be better to keep doing "smaller" shows so we get through more. I will say that the idea of them binging like 4-6 episodes once a month and slowly going through either as a side thing isnt a bad idea too

It is very true. That is why since animation studios made the decision a few years ago to copy Netflix and other streaming platforms and divide anime into seasons with breaks of up to a year and a half, filler is no longer seen in practically any anime.
