Celiz Embuscado

RG MG

Tsukki is here

JT

Meruem is back!

sand_fl

couldn't even watch the second one yet because a friend is crashing at my place and between that and work i can't find free time to watch the reactions 😭

bondbond53

Tsukki the tall, blond, glasses guy is voiced by Meruem's voice actor. Both amazing characters

Robert H.

Since I've binged the whole first season since last time, I can only wish you good luck in remembering the names of the characters. I checked the wiki again, and there are about 240 characters in total, and you should be able to remember 30 of them by name, as they get a bit more screentime than the others. Here are the more important characters so far: Daichi Sawamura (#1 Captain) Kōshi Sugawara (#2 Vice-Captain) Ryūnosuke Tanaka (#5) Tobio Kageyama Shōyō Hinata Kei Tsukishima Tadashi Yamaguchi Kiyoko Shimizu (Manager)

KIMI

MY GOAT TSUKKI HAS ARRIVED

Aris

Sugawara/Suga (gray-haired guy who helps Hinata) is such a sweetheart, definitely one of my favourite characters who's sometimes overlooked, I love him so much T^T I laughed so hard when I saw LM's insults almost spilling out only for them to make the active effort to stop themselves. All they ended up saying is "shut up" and I just couldn't stop laughing at that whole scene. Tsukishima/Tsukki (blond with glasses) is definitely an interesting character to follow, it takes time to warm up to him compared to other Karasuno members - depends on the person tbh - but I'm looking forward to see how they are going to interact with him!

Aris

Honestly calling Bertholdt Bernard was one of the best decisions you've ever made, it never failed to make me smile whenever you mentioned him with a straight face and moved on as if that was his canon name (it actually is)

Jay

They have cried on every single episode so far. This show is literally PERFECT for them.

Sergeant Jay

My personal #1 favorite is Tanaka, I just love the dude, everytime he pops up on the screen he makes me laugh, I also love what he represents, mental toughness which was something I didn’t have when I was a child.

Spider #13

Tsuki calling Kageyama Ou-Sama repeatedly is just such perfect irony

fe de

I think you girls have already cried more than i ever did while watching and reading the whole story 🤣 so glad I upgraded my tier!

Jona

They play Haikuyy's opennings during the Olympics Games in which the japanese volleyball teams are playing!

KIMI

The impact is actually crazy. No sports anime is moving like that

Chris R

im so glad this anime is long. In for a ride lol

DefensiveOnion

Slam Dunk had a pretty gigantic cultural impact on not only Japan, but Asia in general when it came out. Basketball became a household sport and grew immensly in places like the Philippines, where the NBA is huge nowadays Haikyuu is of course much more recent and the Impact it had on Japan and globally is immense and it will grow even further with so many people growing up on it now, but Slam Dunk without social media and global streaming did some crazy numbers. 170 Million manga volumes and 7th seventh best-selling manga of all time was already insane for sports manga at that time and doing that with "just" 31 volumes is even more impressive

halfeldian

@KIMI Slam Dunk, and don't get me wrong I know you want to gas HQ, but Blue Lock impact during 2022 World Cup was waaaaaaay way crazier. LOL Overall Paris Olympics aims at teenagers bracket too because they play lots of anime and kpop songs.

marcyplace

Still pinching myself that you’re actually reacting to Haiikyu

KIMI

@halfeldian I’m aware of Slam Dunk’s influence and I hate Blue Lock so ima just keep gassing HQ under HQ videos in peace lol

KIMI

@Defensiveonion don’t forget about the surge of sneaker culture in Asia as well!

halfeldian

@KIMI I’m not the biggest Blue Lock fan but I can tell you hate it and the reasoning doesn’t have to do with the animanga LMFAO

KIMI

@halfeldian Lol I’m actually more of an Ao Ashi kinda guy when it comes to soccer! I watched all of Blue Lock but just can’t really get behind the concept since I mostly watch sports anime for the team dynamics. I also think a lot of the dialogue is cringe. One can also say this about HQ but at least it’s an inspirational cringe and not a “Im gonna murder your entire family if I don’t score this goal” kinda cringe ya know?

fe de

yess and well i’m proud that i knew that and that i voted it

Harfie

Agree, he’s hilarious and super resilient. Plus he’s not afraid to speak his mind, especially in support of his teammates. It’s so hard to pick a favourite in this show honestly but Tanaka is up there.

Minime

It’s Hi-Q “Haikyuu”

ODIS

oh shit true, i kept thinking its a familiar voice

rrrebo

"Haikyu" literally means "volleyball" in Japanese. :D

rrrebo

Watching you watch this show makes me SO HAPPY!!! It's one of my favorite shows, and the fact that Lola played volleyball is a HUGE bonus! I kinda wish you could binge the show so I can binge your reactions. This show has SO much depth and emotion, you simply have no idea. The author was a player and huge volleyball fan. The show is more accurate and realistic than your typical shounen.

Fleetfoot

Aaah as much as I'm loving LM loving the boys, I feel like I have to say this early on. I love that you are paying attention to the characters and trying to understand them, even if they are not being the most likable (*cough Tsukki cough*). However, Im just mildly worried that they might miss out on some amazing character growth moments if they brush every conflict off as "aww its okay they are going to love each other!" at this point. I know you guys go deep in character analysis, so for example, I think its okay to acknowledge that Kageyama has some issues that are most definitely not because he secretly admires Hinata lol. I don't know if i explained myself right but I guess... I want them to be a little harsher (?) on the boys. Even though I myself am very protective of karasuno and wouldn't tolerate any slander hahaha. Anyway please dont let my comment make you enjoy the show any less! im only saying it cuz I would love to hear your thoughts on the character conflicts and dynamics as the show is presenting them and with a less biased (?) perspective.

skye

damn, the fact that i didn't realize that but both are some of my favorite anime characters- 😭

K

Subscribed to ur patreon after watching ur Haikyuu release on youtube yesterday. I’m so happy that you’re enjoying this gem. It’s really a very special anime. I like the dark edgy shows as much as the next person but Haikyuu is just pure serotonin. It just give u that energy to face this dark world 🙏🥹

Mukatutu

On the bright side, all those Oikawa stans that cant hear a single negative opinion on him despite him being an early 'antagonist' /obstacle for karasuno will probably be overjoyed if they go all empathy on Oikawa immediately :D
