The episode in which we were waiting for 😁😁😁

cosmotron

Happy Frieren Friday! That shot of Himmel and Frieren with the clock tower between them is so perfectly tragic: time is the thing that stands between them.

YawnSong

These reactions are the only things getting me through the weeks to Friday.

Lola & Milena: That was my favorite episode! Episode 15: Hold my ring. 💍

ashton

I've waited so long for this moment

HenryM

That thumbnail is everything I was hoping it'd be

Vidolin

We all know EXACTLY what we're here for today huh...

Jay Craig

My favourite episode. There’s so much - the Stark/Fern scenes, Stark/Himmel parallels and him going to the Himmel statue when he’s at a loss, the Heiter/Frieren scene calling back to their earlier interactions, and obviously the Himmel/Frieren scene, with the clock tower framing and the wedding/funeral bells, with the amazing music underscoring it. Just peak Frieren. Peak peak.

Sebastian

one of the best eps of the show! the town bell rings just as the party reaches the town and then frieren starts daydreaming about that memory of himmel. when she’s awoken by stark’s voice the clocktower is at 14:03, so she had been daydreaming about himmel giving her the ring for 3min

Jay

This is one of the many reasons why Himmel got number 1 in the popularity poll and so many reactors who have reacted to this show have him as their favorite character in the series despite the little screen time he has. It’s because whenever he appears, he shines the brightest. The amount of influence Himmel has on Frieren and this show is insane. Even tho he died in episode 1. He was an incredible man, a true hero who will forever be remembered along with his wonderful party, as expected of Himmel the kindest hero.

Jay

If you go back to the scene where Himmel puts the ring on Frierens finger, you can see the clock tower standing in the middle of them, symbolizing that the only thing that stands in between them is time. Before he put the ring on her, there were people in the background, but the moment he fell to a knee, if you look for the crowd you will notice the crowd disappeared .For a moment the world was just for the two of them. At the time Himmel knew the meaning behind that ring, that man loved her and wanted nothing but the best for her.

MY HEART!!!!!!!!!!!!!

sand_fl

well, i'm having a bit of shitty day so i'm taking a 5 min break 😂 glad to see at least i have this when i get home.

halfeldian

Ong episode 12 was excellent i had it anime of the year by then and then this episode happened and it sealed it. The headpat to Heiter was beautiful I cried :’) also they already said it in the comments since you ladies said “clock” at the start of the episode… Time (clock tower) being the thing standing in between Frieren and Himmel indeed is so 💔 Happy Frieren Friday indeed!

I think this episode here had the perfect overall package with two of the greatest stories combined. In my opinion though, we still get episodes where one of the two stories in an episode is just even more better.

Unholy

Yess been waiting for this one (all of them really)

Unholy

Watching the discussion now, would it be crazy to want a reaction to the re-watch of episode 1?

Brian Vincent

Cant wait for the dancing episode i think its next or the one after

HenryM

Loved the discussion about Himmel and Frieren's relationship, you nailed it. The way Himmel never outright speaks his true feelings for Frieren fits well with Sein's point that people often don't know how others feel unless it's said out loud, yet Himmels proposal spoke volumes without saying a word. Beautifully tragic 😔

Nyeisha Melvina Clark

Someone online said that Himmel never married and had a family because to him, his heart always belonged to Frieren and Himmel didn’t want to betray that and I was never the same after reading it. The way the proposal was basically just Himmel telling Frieren he loves her without actually saying so, with a ring that means eternal love and without asking for anything in return because he understood her and how she couldn’t reciprocate at the time was truly beautiful. A truly magnificent and unrealistic man lol!!!! Also love the parallel between Frieren/Himmel and Fern/Stark but is knowing that for Fern/Stark it will have a different outcome is beautiful.

Herminio Hernandez Jr

Himmel was so thoughtful when it came to Frieren. He saw how it impacted her when she realized she was the only one who remembered Flamme. So put statutes everywhere so she would never be alone. There will always be a marker to tell her that they ( specifically He was real ). He did not want to fade from her memory. He gave her a ring pledging his eternal love for her knowing it would likely be after his death that she would finally understand his feelings.

Unholy

Also, Fern’s pout face is the best

Something about his face in the next episode makes me think it has to do with the conversation had with that certain character

Spilled Wine

Some fun facts. This chapter in the manga was voted fan favorite in a poll some years ago. While the bracelet and ring have the same design, the flower on the bracelet is in bloom while the flower on the ring is closed.

JAMES D'ALESSANDRO

This episode gets me every time. I feel so bad for both Himmel who loved her and never hot to live his life with he, and for Frieren who is probably realizing she feels the same way for him, but is realizing it almost 30 years after he passed away.

Arnobio

himmel try not to be the smoothest person ever challenge (impossible)

Rob

If "I can not" was an anime. 🙃

Jay

Also Need to mention how beautiful Heiters scene with Frieren was. That head pat was adorable.

Kyle Geroche

They did something with the music of the clock tower scene that gets me everytime.

mundanelotus

This show always has me tearing up every other episode lol

Russell Gambardella

This episode gets me every single time. I completely agree, Himmel’s love for Frieren was so gentle and pure, and he knowingly accepted she wasn’t in a place to reciprocate it at the time. Loved the reaction and spot on analysis! <3

Ruma Risto

Try to re-watch episode 1 now

Caradoc Elmet

I just joined Patreon today specifically because I saw you have uploaded this episode and I couldn't wait any longer to see your reactions to it. I would say it's one of my favourite episodes... but when I think about it a little more I'd have to say it's one of my *twenty-eight* favourite episodes lol. It's so difficult to separate one from another in terms of preference because the series is so good. Your reactions did the episode justice, btw. I can empathise with you 100% when Himmel drops to one knee and slips the ring on Frieren's finger. My heart stopped for a moment. You said all the things I've been hoping to hear from a reactor every time I've watched a reaction to this. You warm my heart. Thank you so, so much for all your reactions. It makes me happy to know there are people like you two in this world I've been losing faith in. Thank you.

Hockney

it is with great pleasure I can say Frieren has been confirmed for a season 2

Aris

my heart fills with both extreme happiness and extreme sorrow whenever this episode comes up. definitely one of my favourite episodes.

Unholy

Season 2 official lets gooooo

Jesse S

Hey guys I don’t mean to be a bother but just wanted to ask if y’all could Upload Frieren episode 1 again? The video isn’t working

My Toasty Toast

Frieren season 2 officially announced people!

stfucedric

funny you guys were upset about it in this but S2 of Frieren was indeed just announced 😂

halfeldian

TOHO overheard Lola and Milena complaining about Frieren season 2 so they announced it today. Telephatic magic. Congratulations!

Camzeee

Saw this beautiful comment on YT about this episode and had to share. "A fun little detail in this episode, the bracelet stark gave fern is a BLOOMING lotus, signaling their relationship will grow and blossom, but the ring himmel gave frieren is of a closed lotus, because it never had the chance to blossom"

Reed

Episode 15 reaction is upon us....

Rachel

I had the same feelings after this episode finished about wanting to go back and watch episode 1 again!! You worded it so well, and I think it's such a neat aspect of Frieren's story-writing. I think it's because it wasn't until episode 14 where I felt like Himmel's character fully clicked for me. I was always in awe of how wonderful he is, but there's something so powerful about how motivated by love Himmel is and the ways he expressed that love. Wanting to love and be loved in return is such a human thing, but he was more than wiling to just silently love Frieren unconditionally. Even if she never realized the full depths of his feelings (and how understood by him she was) in his lifetime. That aspect of Himmel's character has really stuck with me <3
