Frieren Friday!

Mr Krabs

happy friday

sand_fl

ngl, these early updates are killing me. it's only 18:30 here and i'm with people and then i have a birthday. i won't be able to watch this for HOURS 🙃

Sergeant Jay

There is no elf more adorable than Frieren in all of television

HenryM

Best therapy after Arcane

Heyy we're sharing time zones! I won't be able to watch for a couple of hours too, so I kinda agree about early uploads lol

Robert H.

Note: Land observes lost kitten that is found by mother cat. :D

Erdanxela

season 1 is chapter 1 to chapter 60 of the manga. Right now the manga has reached chapter 138. So there is plenty left and the manga is still airing i think we have hafway through the story. I can said this 138 chapters are so good.

cosmotron

the day is blessed, for Frieren Friday is upon us

Isaac

The gender of Kanehito Yamada is unknown, at this time. Most interview references from earlier years lean male. The artist, Tsukasa Abe, is a woman

Robert H.
>>156124278

Yeah. I hope for 240 Chapters ~ 4 Seasons with 28 Episodes each. I very much hope that it won't be over 300 chapters. I don't want the story to be unnecessarily stretched out. But I also could see the 2nd Season with only 22 Episodes and the next 6 Episode Story Arc in a movie format. I would prefer 28 Episodes.

yeah, i think i mention later i think he maybe lost a parent because of how he was looking at the kitten

Unholy

Wirbel is great I would love some side adventures with him

Robert H.
>>156124194

I won't say anything about that :D But exactly because of these little things, I wanted to wait for season 2/3 to watch Frieren, because we only learn more about some characters very late and these little things are important details. :D

Yes. I mentioned that in the comments in Episode 1x06: Kanehito is not a woman, his caricature persona also has a moustache. https://frieren.fandom.com/wiki/Kanehito_Yamada And I found this interesting Reddit comment: [Reddit comment] Yamada Kanehito is a man. He was apparently an assistant to Wakaki Tamiki (who did The World God Only Knows). Apart from Kanehito sounding like a man's name (like, say, George, Currer, Acton, or Ellis, to pick a few names at random), when Yamada debued with Dreamer in 2012, Wakaki wrote on his blog: 山田くんは一切仕事場でも話さず（震災の時すら話さない）、心のなかでひたすら人を驚かせることを考えてる、テロリスト（おい！）みたいな男なのですが、そのアイデア爆弾の力を生かすためにも短いページの作品が良いと常々思っていた。 http://blog.wakakitamiki.coolblog.jp/?eid=1310723#gsc.tab=0 Roughly: "Yamada-kun doesn't speak at all in the workplace (not even during an earthquake), and is a man like a terrorist (oi!) always thinking in his heart about surprising people, but I always thought a short work would be good to show off the power of that idea-bomb." He uses 男, i.e. male.

I love how distressed Frieren sounds when asking for Starks help. I don't think I've ever heard her so pleading.

Vitor

I think women are just as prominent in the manga industry as man. Women made Fullmetal Alchemist and Demon Slayer, just to name the ones you would definitily know.

Robert H.
>>156135763

And it also shows that gender plays no role at all. Demon Slayer has some of the most one-dimensional main characters you can think of.

Jason Parker

Another anime that might be great for you after this is The Apothecary Diaries. It aired the same time as Frieren. It's a great mix of mystery, drama, comedy and romance. It's written by a woman and the main character is a teenage girl. She's become one of my all-time favorite main characters in anime. It's only 24 episodes and season 2 is airing in January

Not me having to scroll so far down for Bocci the Rock I almost thought you didn’t include it

Isaac
>>156136947

We've talked about it before and it wouldn't be right for this slot. They're running 2-cour seasons every year. 48 episodes including Season 2. That means a full year of AD and that's before Season 3. Should be on the poll for what follows Monster

Jason Parker
>>156136947

I know, just wishful thinking. I love the Frieren vibes and I think Apothecary Diaries would provide similar vibes. I don't think they would be complaining if Frieren season 2 was coming in January. If only they watched AD first lol

My Toasty Toast

Frieren thinks that the greatest joy in magic lies in searching for it, and that thought makes Ubel a really interesting character to me, who also enjoys the search for magic in a twisted different way. While Serie is like the anti-Frieren, who cannot be a mage in a time of peace, Ubel is almost like a dark-Frieren, who thinks like her in practice but with her own dark twists

Robert H.
>>156130553

There are 100 anime on the list :D It's the last Short Anime Poll I will ever do (probably). The Top 20 can be used the next 4 years :D

refo44
>>156136947

I'm sure they will love The Apothecary Diaries. It's not only has a great plot but also MaoMao is maybe one of the best female characters ever written. But unfortunately if we include the upcoming season it will be already too long for the short slot, and the anime it's so good it's almost a certainty it will have more season to come, and it's not fair to LM to start reacting to another unfinished show. But sure The Apothecary Diaries. must be a on future long anime poll after Haikyuu and Monster.

Wallas

The hug in the end 😭❣️

Robert H.
>>156142272

I always have to smile at how Übel is portrayed as evil when the worst thing she did was kill robbers who had attacked her. :D

My Toasty Toast
>>156142272

I don’t know if I would label her as evil, but Kraft, in his thousands of years of experience, felt the need to say something about how she killed them

Sylke Gosen

Frieren isnt the most popular show on MAL but the people that do watch it rate it very highly.

Robert H.
>>156130553

Apothecary Diaries has 48 Episodes. In 2026 (after Monster) it will have 72 Episodes. It's a Long Anime. Therefore it has to compete against Fruits Basket, Spy x Family, Jujutsu Kaisen, Kaguya-sama and Legend of Galactic Heroes.

JAMES D'ALESSANDRO

Apothecary Diaries is what I watched after finishing this show. They are now my number 1 and number 2 animes ever. It helped me get over Frieren ending and season 2 of Apothecary Diaries starts in a couple of months. Both of these shows are amazing.

cosmotron

The way I wish Fruits Basket could qualify as what to watch next. So much of that show is about human relationships and emotion.

KIMI
>>156142272

Well Kraft thinks she's evil and he's more or less on the same level as Serie in wisdom of age so I think it's safe to say that she's not that good either lol

Lau
>>156135763

yeah but generally they dont get the same treatment

JB
>>156130553

Not on the list but next list should have "ChihayaFuru" and "Carol and Tuesday"

Robert H.
>>156130553

Chihayafuru is a long anime with 75 Episodes, so not part of the Short Anime Poll. I added Carol and Tuesday to the poll.

Jason Parker
>>156231875

That would be my dream reaction from them. I'm confident it would become a top 3 favorite anime for them

cosmotron
>>156231875

Yeah since Black Sails, Fruits Basket and Castlevania have been the shows I’ve most wanted them to react to personally haha. But I do really think they’d love Fruits Basket as much as you predict they would.

Pelamis
>>156130553

A great list although I feel like Dandadan is waaay too lewd with off-putting scenes to be on that list, even though I do appreciate it's simultaneous depth and it deserves being the best show of this season. I just know LM would be appalled though.
