Eric

Is this the Extended or directors cut? Need to find out what is needed for the watch along.

LM Reactions

i have no clue, its whatever it is on disney, maybe thats the directors cut, its just under 2 hours

PIG

Still remains my favorite horror of all time. Mad Men then Alien. This is great, thank you!

Tippis

There are a fair bit of small changes, but the most immediate and obvious distinction to look for is whether Ripley finds Dallas cocooned as she tries to ready the shuttle.

I’m still rooting for The Godfather Part II someday. I hope soon before you forget all the details of the first part

Eric

I am reading that the Disney+ version is the theatrical version for anyone else wanting to know.

PIG

In Spain it worked for me ;)

Richard Ramirez

I will never understand people who say dont watch anymore alien :D at the very least you should watch the second one Aliens its really good.. 3 is okay and 4 is different more action packed still enjoyable I think. But you guys should definitely watch part 2!!!!

Clay F

Enjoyed the reaction. Definitely watch the first sequel Aliens (1986). You can skip the remainder of the franchise if you want. Aliens (1986) is a rare exception to the general rule that sequels are bad. GF2 is another rare exception. I typically avoid sequels like the plague. Alien (1979) and Aliens (1986) go together, analogous to GF/GF2. I agree with the review data below, but ignore if you want. IMDb 8.5, RT 93%, RT Audience 94% -- Alien (1979) IMDb 8.4, RT 94%, RT Audience 94% -- Aliens (1986) IMDb 6.4, RT 44%, RT Audience 46% -- Alien 3 (1992) IMDb 6.2, RT 56%, RT Audience 39% -- Alien: Resurrection (1997)

It's too bad that Prometheus wasn't a better movie (it's not terrible, but not great). Its subject matter was far more interesting than all of the other Alien retreads.

Clay F

Good point. I took my son to see Prometheus in the theater when released. I agree with your characterization of the movie.
