I know this is unrelated to the video but I’m so Excited for Frieren, it’s finally coming back this Friday. I’ve been watching sad Frieren tik tok edits everyday like this one https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZP8f8Awd2/ in anticipation 😅 Let’s continue the journey ! Unfortunately this season looks like it’s going to be a short one, but the good news is that the manga sales and Frieren merch have been selling like crazy. So there will Be many more seasons to come. It’s extremely popular and has consistently become one of the top selling mangas in recent years, very deserved.

I'm really pissed about that. The 10 episodes will be awesome. Just read the 20-22 Chapters again they will adapt and the stories are so good. Lola and Milena will love them. But literally everyone discussed if we would get 22 episodes + movie or 28 episodes in Season 2. That we only get 10 episodes and probably in 2 years another 12 episodes and 2 years later a movie is taking the steam out of the show. Also stopping before that 12 episode long story-arc is truly evil. They love the character that will take a main-character position in that arc... :(

I agree, I was very disappointed when I found out it would only be 10 episodes, I wanted them to give us El dorado arc, but oh well I just hope they give us 20 + episodes next time. I guess the only positive thing about this is that it will give the author more time considering it’s in Hiatus.

I feel like anime is following the Netflix/Hollywood model and seasons are getting shorter and shorter. It's now more likely to get an anime season with 6 episodes than one with 18 episodes, so I think it's very unlikely to get the El Dorado Arc + the arc after that in one season. At this point I think it's more likely we get the arc after El Dorado in a movie.

No wonder Monster's themes feel so personal. He definitely heavily researched his stuff on Germany's historical events and the effects on the people, but it must also come from his own lived experience and the people he's met growing up in that time.

From the interviews production team provided it is safe to assume that production of the second season started not too long ago(maybe like a year ago).It is not enough to produce 20 episodes of high quality like in season 1. Therefore they decided to do a 10 episode season to keep the quality at the same level. Additionally,the team handling frieren also producing a movie named ghost,I believe,which is going to be very well animated and will release in 2027. So,many animators from frieren's team working on that project.

And I don't think that is the case(following Netflix trend). All depends on production time and how busy they are with other projects. I am sure if they have time for season 3, it will be in the range of 12-20 episodes. Also they didn't know how well season 1 will perform, which is why the production of the second season didn't start right away. However,now they know how popular it is and let's hope the production of season 3 will start very soon.

But the big question is why they release Season 2 now and not in 1 year with 22 or 28 episodes.

I was also disappointed by the information about 10 episodes, but I think it was related to the manga and the production time for other seasons. The manga goes on hiatus constantly and for long periods, and although there's enough material for 22+ episodes, ending the season so close to the end of the already posted chapters means it would take much longer for possible new seasons because the manga struggles a lot to get new updates. I think they didn't want to take that risk.

I think the perfect poll would be with - Kaguya-sama (high school rom-com) - Steins;Gate (I don't like it but many want it) - Fruits Basket (rom-com drama) - March Comes Like a Lion (emotional healing) - Nana (adult romance) - Mushishi (atmospheric, connections and nature) - Clannad (romance drama) - Chihayafuru (sports-drama anime)
