There are hints like him using Inumaki's in the movie. But Yuta's technique actually being copying was never explained in the movie.

I love this episode, it's so rare you get an actually well-done free-for-all battle like this in an anime. Not that I dislike the other fights in the culling game so far, but this is exactly the kind of battle that a "culling game" needs. We didn't find out that the second half of the Culling Games arc was gonna be "season 4" until around the time this aired, IIRC. It was definitely originally meant to be a mid-season finale before part 2 was rebranded as season 4.

He used a megaphone in the movie, which could lead the viewer to believe that it's a cursed tool, rather than connected to Yuta's technique. This episode is when his technique is revealed, as it has been intentionally vague until now.

it wasnt rebranded, people just assumed "culling games part 1" meant that it was going to be one season with two parts, but in reality its just the culling games arc with two parts as two seasons

The “rebranding” ambiguity kinda has to do with how closely in production CG part 1 and part 2 seem to be. If you know anything about anime production cycles, you know that the footage we have for Season 4 so far couldn’t be at the stage that it’s in if that shit wasn’t being worked on either immediately after Seaon 3’s general production was over or at least 3/4’s of the way through. This gives some justification to the speculation that the project might have started off with a split-cour release in mind, perhaps with a 6 months max break in-between airing before becoming clear closer to the airing of Part 1 that such a release goal was impossible; it happens. At the very least, the production cycle of seasons 3 and 4, regardless of naming convention, are following the kind of production timeline a split-cour project would
