I love all the terrible tv shows in the world of Barry! I didn’t catch it the first time I watched the episode, but the name of the main character in ‘Laws of Humanity’ is “Hugh Manity”

Ben Mendelsohn = Director Krennic in Andor/Rogue One. The joke being it’s a ridiculous pick for someone to play Spider-Man

Watching the show along with yall. Why do I feel like Barry is a Light Yagami situation, but the show actually acknowledges he's a piece of shit

The moment of Sally abruptly being asked who the next Spider-Man should be played by was inspired by something that happened to Hader. He was on a press junket for the movie, "The Skeleton Twins" (an indie drama movie wherein suicide is an important plot point). The interviewer asked BillHader what his thoughts were on the "epidemic of suicide". Hader did his best to cobble together a respectful, meaningful answer to the question and started answering the question. As he did, the interviewer was told by a producer to wrap his interview up soon. So, he stopped Hader and asked him, "Oh before we go: Ben Affleck has just been cast as Batman. What are your thoughts on that?"

"he yelled at us a couple of times and talked about how he got messed up from killing a bunch of people in a war, but I don't think that makes him violent"

You say this happened to a friend of yours?

This episode is when Katie Harris, the teen actress working with Sally, became my favorite character. Because you can see her SEE everything. And she doesn't know what to do or how to handle it, but she SEES it. Which nobody else has managed to do so far. Throughout season two you both really fixated on the fact that Barry was so soulless he was able to face Gene after killing Janice. You mentioned it in multiple episodes. This was the point where I felt the exact same way, because you can see that Gene is absolutely dying on the inside. He's really bringing it up and trying to force Barry to confront it, and Barry just isn't internalizing it at ALL. He's always been Bad, but now he's practically inhuman. I love how nice and friendly almost everybody in this entire criminal underworld is. Fernando is so kind and supportive with Cristobal. You can see why they had such a good working relationship before Cristobal came to LA. Maybe Cristobal can convince him to forgive Hank and they can be one big happy family? I'm sure Cristobal's wife isn't happy in their marriage either, so if they were honest with one another maybe this could actually bring them all closer together. I do love Johnny Rockets. It's a great place to get a hamburger, and the aesthetic is non-kitschy retro. If anybody had to give me unwanted news, I would take it a lot better after going to Johnny Rockets. Press junkets are crazy promotional events. The actor (or musician or director, etc.) is on an interview set for 10 or 12 hours and different interviewers come in one after the other and each ask only a few rapid-fire questions. This way they get interview material for dozens of different websites/magazines/talk shows/etc. But it's a soulless experience, since they get asked the same questions over and over again and they're all superficial since there's no time to get into anything. Many actors have talked about feeling more exploited and violated after a press junket than they did working long days in grueling conditions doing physically taxing or emotionally draining work. Some actors have even described something close to full disassociation, where they don't remember who they spoke to or what they said.

I dunno...I think he could bring something unique to the role. I'd at least be willing to give him a shot.

It's almost as convincing a name as officer Hugh Mann, serving on Zapp Brannigan's flagship "Nimbus" in "Futurama"!

I can't believe you find zero humour in Fuches...guy is hilarious
