2026-10-30 10:00 I really hope y'all get around to watching Batman: The Animated Series down the line if you're looking for more Batman content.
2026-10-30 01:29 I really hope y'all get around to watching Batman: The Animated Series (1992–1995) down the line if you're looking for more Batman content. It's the definitive take on Batman and his world for a lot of people, and is home to some incredible stories. Batman Beyond (1999) is a great one as well if you want a VERY unique take on Batman. It's set in the future and features an older Bruce Wayne mentoring the next Batman, who's a 16-year-old high school student. It's incredible, both also have amazing animation and have aged extremely well. Batman Part II (2028) doesn't come out until early 2028. There's been a lot going on behind the scenes, with the director, Matt Reeves, stepping away from production for family reasons and another director coming in to finish production. But Matt Reeves will return for post-production, so he'll still have full creative control. The script also took some time to write due to personal circumstances as well, so it's understandable why there's such a big gap between the two films with anything going on behind the scenes. Thankfully we got The Penguin to keep us going :) There are also rumours about the showrunner of The Penguin, Lauren LeFranc, developing a Poison Ivy show, which I'd absolutely love to see. We really need to see more of Batman's "villains" besides the Joker. I love him, but there's so many characters' we've yet to see in live action. So there are some fun Batman projects in the works! I hope we get to see Robin in one of them. It's nearly been 30 years since he's been in a live action Batman movie...

2026-10-30 10:00 This finale was so unexpected, but it made perfect sense. My girl Sofia! 💔😭 So unfair! She deserved better. But at least she's alive. I really need to see her again! And poor Vic 😢🖤

the Penguin may or may not return in The Batman 2 which may or may not be released in a few years...

Carlos

The Batman Part 3 should be relatively easy to film cause it just needs to be 2+ hours of Batman beating the brakes off Oz.

Yes! we're getting Avatar Seven Havens! I'm so hyped! So far this new Avatar cycle book 1 for me it's a 10/10! Well, I'm totally biased because I love the whole Avatar universe! And I'm on Korra's side, so if anyone wants to talk bad about my girl, I'm always ready to defend her from all the Korra haters! 😤❤️

I just came back from watching Clayface and now I’m about to watch your reaction to this finale .. let me tell you something.. Gotham city has definitely some of the most fucked up individuals I’ve seen from any fictional city lol No wonder why Batman is a bit insane in his own way.

crazy how the three main characters closest to oz all end up in their own worst nightmares in the finale. sofia ends up back in arkham, her own personal hell. his mom ends up a vegetable, forced to stay alive by the man who killed her children after specifically begging him to kill her episodes before. and vic, who wanted to make a name for himself, dies a complete nobody with no one to mourn him oz really is the devil

I'm really looking forward to The Batman 2, it’s taking six fucking years to make so it better be the best thing my eyes ever see in a theater.

I love that the show and the character of Penguin is one huge con on the audience. From the movie through the first episodes, Colin Farrell's charisma as Oz just overpowers all the red flags everyone can see. You want to find a reason to root for him but he's bad all the way down apparently. Will say anything, hurt anyone, and betray all to survive and gain more power. And that scene with Oz and Vic...diabolical! As soon as Vic said "family" it was over. The lighting and angle of Oz's face after the deed is really horrifying. Amazing finale

Yay to Avatar!! It's been really good so far and I'm excited to see your reactions!

Ok now that I done watching the review.. I’m glad you girls enjoyed this show. Would this mean you girls might be open to other live action heroes or marvel/dc shows? Idk… I’m not a big marvel guy so maybe one of their fans can tell you if their shows are good or in the same category as the penguin. I think the Netflix Daredevil might be almost there.. but I again only time will tell if you girls will be open to another show like this lol anyways.. I hope yall enjoy Avatar! Is not my thing but hopefully is more of a happy show than all the other shows you watched this year.

the oedipus complex is indeed considered outdated in modern psychology. from what i've read, it can better as a broad structural outline for certain types of family dynamics but it doesn't hold weight as a universal framework. i'm more mixed about the ending. once the initial shock value of just how psychopathic oz is wears off, the whole thing just kind of felt...fine. i've previously seen stories where the backstory didn't make the characters more sympathetic, so this one only stood out for how pointed it was. but again once that wears off, it just kind of made the entire character feel a bit flatter and sure that may have been the goal, but it also diminished the rewatch value and felt a little like a novelty. through sofia, the show also flat out called out that his love isn't really that and it's completely devoid of any care. it's pretty much unambiguously possessive. there have been some other anti-hero/villain protagonist characters where there's much more of a blur between these ideas or for instance, narcissist characters whose narcissism gets overpowered at times so their behavior is less predictable and can have more depth. all that being said, it does fit well as a classic comic book story. like, in terms of if you really just wanted a classical villain for a change. sofia already occupied a space that's closer to a complex prestige drama character and ultimately the show did do its job of getting people hyped for batman part 2 just because they'll want oz to go down so badly, though i'm not sure how big of a part he'll play since they have other villains that are featured and some insanely good cast members were announced as well, so they're likely not going to play small parts.

don't think they'll be open to marvel stuff but marvel has a number that are better, especially if you're looking for more character driven works. the netflix shows like daredevil and jessica jones are the two main examples, especially the first seasons. luke cage not so much. loki is also good but not quite as character driven, but the world-building and some of the plot mechanics are interesting. wandavision was also fairly inventive with its structure and featured homages to classic television. penguin was good, but i think most people are primarily going to remember it for the twist and a fair amount of the plot beats and ways they went about exploring the themes were pretty standard crime drama. sofia, especially the performance, and the twist really carried it.

"like Freud would have things to say about this" had me rolling XD
