Robert H.

I can only recommend you to read the Attack on Titan Manga Chapter 50/51 - 66 online (particularly Chapter 51-56, 65, 66). It just gives so much more depth to the characters and shows how much episode 2 x 12 and the first 7 episodes in season 3 left out and changed. Especially Historia's thoughts become much more understandable through additional conversations and events in the manga. Here a good website for this (Opens this via PC. On an Android device, annoying ads pop up when you want to go to the next chapter.): https://ww1.attackontitanread.com/manga/attack-on-titan-chapter-50-online-read/ And here, for example, the scene in Chapter 66 when she decided against Rod Reiss and hit the syringe on the floor. https://imgur.com/a/17TmglF

Hajime Isayama, the goat

Stiven Goldrin

I wonder if chapter 139.5 will be animated

Kristopher

its just a regular occurence now that everyone must cry for every episode

Josue Acosta

let me get my tissue ready :(

David Sikes

Oh lord the crying over episodes 12-15 will hurt me

botchie

the following episodes r gonna be tough ugh

Jordan

They making me realize just how stressful season 4 really is literally just nothing to smile about so tragic 🤣

I just love the scenes with Historia in the manga. Her inner conflict comes out much more. And especially in Chapter 66, I would have loved to see the scene with the fence in the anime. This would have explained better what it means to be influenced by King Fritz.

Mati D.

Full reaction in a few hours?

Mati D.
>>71707039

It's a different type of tough, gonna be really interesting to listening to your opinions.

Deante
>>71706578

Also Reiner's backstory is a lot more detailed and has better pacing in the manga. Overall the manga is even more complexed and nuanced than the anime, especially when it comes to the politics and character writing. WIT really has done Mikasa dirty with the amount of dialogue they have taken away from her compared to manga lol.

Kloste2023

I love how long these videos are and how much time and effort you guys put into these episodes. I can't wait for you to react to the rest of this season and keep on crying every episode!

K Vonnegut

When you were talking about punching Gabi and Falco, you seemed to have a lot of faith in humanity. Because I remember every episode of Attack on Titan trending at the time, and I remember people making memes and gifs of Gabi getting pummeled because they thought it was funny. Most children who watch Attack on Titan do not have a strong level of empathy and do not fully comprehend the plot. Big monster combat is fun for them, and Levi is a badass. This show's fan base, in my opinion, is extremely divided.

Dylan Compton

I think you'd look good with your hair up. Respectfully.

Melkor

I have a question does the show ever answer why Bertholdt applied to become a warrior or is that only revealed in the manga?

szepi79

when you are talking about the scouts beating Gabi & Falco you seem to forget that at this point Gabi was still armed with a rifle AND everyone was full on adrenaline. that stuff... well, not exactly MAKES you do things that you thought you wouldn't do, but it enables it. when you are under it's effect, you are extremly focused on the object/person that created the adrenaline rush within you. it is almost impossible not to hit the person with the rifle (or run away, but in that airship that wasn't an option).

Jacob

The expression you were looking for at 6:30 is "shine a light", though honestly English is weird enough sometimes that "shine a mirror" sounds like it could be real too.

Anonymous
>>71708324

This show also has racists, fascists, nazis and all types of weirdos who watch it and think the story validates their ideas. I don't think it's important what a certain section of the fandom take from it.

bondbond53

Mikasa and Sasha were actually roomates and a lot closer than it might look at first. I always loved how as stoic as Mikasa was she also loved teasing Sasha.

Justin Sprouse

aot season 4 is just a crying simulator for the girls haha

YatoKing

Since you now know Niccolo I wanna add something: Sasha's last word was niku (japanese for meat) but she might have also called for Niccolo

cheetos L

The singer himself said he does not say monster

Patrick

Most shows: So I think we stuck the knife in with that tragic character death, let's move on. Isayama: So anyway, I started twisting.

lasagnaman
>>71708537

hey I would delete this comment, it indirectly spoils things (by saying what things *aren't* shown in the anime)

Melkor
>>71708537

Could you answer my question first I’ll delete it right after I just wonder if it ever showed why berth joined or do you think it will later?

PKS

Its an Anime, and still its the best show on planet.

Amir Ali

I have to say. I have watched at least 10 channels watch the show from beginning till end and some of them even were spot on with their knowledge and theories. But no one has understood the characters better than you guys. I have watched the whole series so many times now (thanks to the react channels) and the way you look at the characters is how the writers intended them to be portrayed. I'm so excited to see you reactions to certain stuff. Can't wait!

ajoenpolvo

what a great reaction 🖤

Jk844
>>71710259

When it comes to understanding the characters and analysing their development, motives, choices etc. I don’t think anyone does it better than AGoodwinTV. If you haven’t seen his AoT reactions I’d highly recommend them.

Robert H.
>>71710259

I also like GoodWinTV a lot, but he very often reacts to sad and emotional scenes with a lot of humor. I like that, sometimes you just need that in such a tragic story, but in general I prefer LM's way. The analytical and emotional is just great. With Filmbuff, for example, it bothers me that he can hardly show emotions. When it comes to tragic moments, he only sees the twist, which he incorporates into his theories, which are pretty darn good, by the way.

Robert H.
>>71706948

Every episode in Season 4 Part 2 will break them. Everything that comes is just a descent into sadness.

Melkor
>>71708537

And how is this a spoiler? The show hasn’t mentioned it so I suppose it never will or was this revealed later in the manga?

Amir Ali
>>71710259

I have also watched GoodWinTv and enjoyed it a lot aswell. There's no doubt that he understood most of the characters motives but I haven't seen anyone 'feeling' for the characters like LM.

enchantertim
>>71710259

@Robert H. I disagree with you about Filmbuff. He also shows a lot of emotions and perfectly gets what kind of emotion a particular scene tries to convey. For example, him crying over the ending scene of 4x7 when Reiner transformed (like LM did), is alone proof of that. While a lot of reactors were getting more hyped towards that scene (which is not wrong) or downright annoyed that Reiner is interfering Eren, Filmbuff and LM's reactions were more profound and that's why I love them

Mati D.
>>71710259

#BringBackFILMBuff. Hope he can do reacts again and finish Death Note and S4 P2.

Xal

The subs on this one seemed a little weird.

enchantertim
>>71709380

Yes, hope the girls see this. Personally I prefer to believe that Sasha was calling out Niccolo's name. Because her previous line right before "niku" was "Are we eating soon?" like as if she's talking to Niccolo and asking him if the food is ready yet.

Thomas

I read that Sacha's last words "niku" (which means meat), maybe was in fact "Nico" because her last thoughts were for Nicolo, the man she loved for his cooking.

Gigi

the way mikasa grieved and stood by her grave ALL DAY EVEN IN THE RAIN </333333, it was bad for her. fuck wit for cutting out their smol moments and her interactions with other scouts besides eren /hj

enchantertim
>>71710259

@Matias Di Noia Hell yeah. He's gonna come back on early January, just before s4 part 2 starts. He was also supposed to do an overall recap/review sort of thing for AoT before part 2 starts but I don't know if that's still going to happen

Norrin Radd

Yall are making season 4 seem way better than I remember it.

Robert H.
>>71707063

I can count happy moments on two hands, and even those happy moments are sad when you think about them....

Oppai Master
>>71708537

Well you know the benefits of becoming a warrior so you already know the answer to that

AndreasZ
>>71708537

It's not a spoiler, same reason most join. So him and his family become honorary Marleyans and have somewhat better lives.

enchantertim
>>71712612

Yeah, these were fansubs. Hope they change it back to offical subs for the upcoming episodes.

enchantertim
>>71707039

Don't listen to them, it's gonna be sunshine and rainbows from now on. The power of friendship will prevail and all the titans will sing "We are the world" while holding hands

Doccyy

Your subtitles seemed a little off this episode. You aren't using the official subs like you had been for the previous episodes? Did you watch this episode on a different site or something?

AndreasZ
>>71712991

They still showed some of their interactions throughout especially in early S1 but yeah i agree, i would've loved to see more of them in the anime. I remember LM noticing and saying from very early on that they would become best friends.

AndreasZ
>>71713282

Binging the show and going straight from S3 to S4 without all the drama about changing studios, animation etc it really shows how brilliant this season is.

Christian Medeiros
>>71716092

By the way, make sure you switch all the episodes to the different subtitles because VLC defaults them to the original file. This ep had fan made translations. The ones you usually have in black are the official translations.

Ryan

if you're expecting to stop crying over Sasha, you're gonna be waiting. the loss of Sasha weighs heavily on most of the remainder of the episodes

Merfhew
>>71706578

If I remember correctly, Isayama was pretty upset with his work during the Royal Government arc. I think he's always had a say in how the anime adapts the manga (more so than other authors), but he was VERY involved during Season 3 Part 1, in order to fix what he considered to be his own "bad writing".

WeatherReport

Niccolo wasn't just feeding Sasha foood....he was giving her a healthy dpse of Vitamin D.

Rich

Not a huge fan of these subs, things are worded a little awkwardly or lengthy lol. Loved the reaction as always though.

Hannah N

Hajime Isayama, pronounced Ha-Jee-May Ee-Sah-Yah-Mah

Dung Nguyen

And you're sounding like spoiling things. Your comment doesnt contribute to anything. Pls delete this.

Mohammed Al Jamal
>>71712969

a lot of ppl kept debating about this, but she obviously said "meat" because when Eren heard her last word, he remembered the "stolen meat" scene and giggled. If Sasha meant Niccolo, Eren wouldn't giggle and the stolen meat scene would've been something else.

EAY
>>71710259

FilmBuff literally cried at the end of 4x4 and 4x7 which only someone that truly gets this show would. He shows a lot of emotions. He also cried in 3x17

Luna

Really appreciate what you said about Mikasa its rare that reactors talk about her and the tragedy she's living

enchantertim
>>71712969

@Mohammed Al Jamal Well obviously in our scenario, everybody else (Conny, Eren etc) thought she said "meat" but what she actually meant to say was "Nicolo" but she couldn't even finish her word. Also we the audience were also meant to think that she meant "meat" at first, since she loves food and meat and all, and that's why it was poignant that her last word was "meat". But later when we found out that her lover was named "Nicolo" that adds an extra twist and layer to it. In art, there could be additional layers to a scene or a line you know. Things sometimes can have two different meanings and are left intentionally ambigious. This is not unheard of lol. It's perfectly in the realm of possibility that she meant to say Nicolo and I personally prefer to believe that

DRnotz

best reaction in a bit! absolutely one of my favorite episodes of Anime.

MGU

Even though those are fan made subs, these subs in specific are known for being good and accurate, so there really isn’t much to worry about

Dan Mena

The subtitles are ok, a fan print the subtitles in the opening even If they change the source of subs the subtitles at the intro still gonna appear.

aerifia

don't give up on crying, the entire rest of the show will probably make you cry more.

bondbond53
>>71713282

I did exactly what you said Andreas and I literally did not get all the issues people had with this season. Imma be honest I was lukewarm towards AoT until the second part of S3 so S4 was just gold for me

Ren Jaecks

Hi can someone tell me what source yall are getting these subtitles and the bluray version from? I have a copy of the bluray version but the subs are sub par (no pun intended😉)

Ren Jaecks
>>71745235

Wait what's the source? I'd love to get them! And also it's the same they've been using for all of s4 right?

Andy

I agree that it looks like it might not be a happy ending. At most, I want to hope for a bittersweet ending.

Rinne
>>71745235

No, that's the only episode in which they switched subs and used these fan made ones. I think they were fine tho.

Burn Bee

Armin's point about diplomacy with other nations really isn't that ridiculous. Or at least it wasn't before Eren's attack. Even Willy thought it would take Paradis making the first move to convince the world to declare war.

Ideophagous
>>71712969

What would be more tragic would be if "niku" was actually a nickname for "Niccolo" that only the two of them were aware of. I love how this series has so many details and nuances, that it makes rewatching it many times quite worth it, and you can pretty much debate it and reinterpret it forever. That's the mark of a great work of art.

ML9
>>71713282

@bondbond53 nobody had issues with the season storywise, just the animation and artwork in some shots because of the studio change

Nazmus Safwat
>>71778350

its not ridiculous but he is not aware of the extent of the hate the whole world has towards them before what eren did.

REDRIOT
>>71778350

even if eren didn't do what he did marley would've attacked them full force with or without the support of the rest. good luck trying to fend off a million soldiers, 4 titans and hundreds of airships with not even 30.000 soldiers and 2 titans. paradise would've been destroyed. Eren saved all of them for the moment. i don't read the manga so i don't really know what's next

Hannah N
>>71778350

yeah if they'd openly offered their resources to [spoiler] a year or two ago and had become a protectorate state they could have avoided conflict altogether. marley just come out of a difficult war with the middle east and never would have been able to challenge another large nation like [spoiler] especially with all the modern weapons they would've been able to build with paradis' resources.

Hannah N
>>71778350

but of course eren would never accept a protectorate status because he'd rather massacre people for his obsessive ideals of freedom rather than make a deal for survival

Be Happy
>>71750130

Why so serious (in joker’s voice) 😆 this show is fun and fluffy 😉😂

enchantertim
>>71706704

I think those scenes are gonna play during the ending credits sequence, and the very final panel from 139.5 will be the after credits scene, then "the end"
