Blessed to have this early in the day thank you for all you do!

Saumyadeep

Armin : "Someone who can't sacrifice anything, can never change anything! In order to overcome a monster, you must be willing to throw aside your humanity." Eren founding titan form :"The Titans of the Walls will trample and rumble all the lands beyond this island. Until the lives there... are eliminated from this world!" Screaming grisha noises : Armin! Are you happy now? Armin : *Shocked Pikachu Face*

HOLY SHIT I JUST MANIFESTED THIS BEING POSTED I JUST WATCHED THE 4x20 REACTION AGAIN IN ANTICIPATION AGGHHHH

Mati D.

LETS GOOOOOO

Pablo

HAHAHA accurate password

enchantertim

heyy this is early, love you guys

sand_fl

it's basically confirmed that the show is not ending because there's still too much to animate. if it ends up being animated into a movie are you going to wait to react to it or try to watch it in the cinema in case it is released i theatres in serbia? it would be a shame that we didn't get to watch your reactions to th3 last part but i'd understand if you wanted to watch it in the big screen

Sebastian

eren’s voice actor (yuki kaji) tweeted that he nearly lost his voice recording this episode. he really loves playing eren were so lucky to have him 😭

Smitty Werbenjagermanjensen #1

I know people will give me flack for this suggestion, but after AoT is over I really hope y’all react to My Hero Academia

Merlino

Finally. I couldn’t resist anymore. I really needed this reaction

Benjamin

The *moment* the episode ended I was dying for your video! Cannot wait!

Deathonater5

I really liked the back story of Ymir, and another thing I liked was that they showed that Ymir was part of building up eldia's roads, bridges, and the civilization as a whole but also part of mass genocide of Marley so both halves of the story is true but of course people only focused on what propels their propaganda further. Great reaction! <3

Melkor

Ymir’s daughters were named after each wall idk if you missed that.

Melkor

You literally cannot be on Eren’s side if this happens because he will have done something worse than Stalin, Hitler, Mao and Genghis khan combined if he actually goes through with this no matter what happens killing this many people automatically makes him horrible. Eren is my fav character but honestly this plan will result in some many innocent people dying that I can’t see how this is possibly worth it. I’m for Zeke’s plan over this. A small rumbling to give paradis time would be preferable to killing everyone. This will be genocide on a scale unimaginable.

Melkor

It seems Marley was correct about the eldians ruling with an iron fist oppressing others but Grisha was also correct about Ymir building bridges etc.

Jonathon Elkins

I need that post episode discussion like I need air in my lungs lol

Mati D.

I have confidence this is gonna be on the post discussion, but just in case: Ymir was not Eldian, Eldians capture her and made her (and the rest in the village) part of Eldia, this is why they are called Subjets of Ymir. "My daughters, reproduce, bear childrens, pass the blood, Ymir power must not die". So they did, they reproduce, they had childens for 2.000 years, this is why Subjets of Ymir can transform into titans. Ymir only had one decision in her life, the time and place to die, 13 years after adquiring the power of the titans, that's why the king said: Stand up, you can't die from a spear. Her will to live was below zero. The 3 walls were named after her daughters, Rose, Maria and Sina. After her daughters ate her corpse, you can see the coordinate expand to 3 branches. After that you can see the tree having more and more branches, this is a representation of the Subjects of Ymir reproducing and having more children. The ending of S2 had all this episode, the rumbling, the cannibalism, Ymir talking to the Titans. And this episode reached #1 with a perfect 10/10 on IMDB in less than 10 hours. PD: I need the OST from this episode, is absolutely amazing.

Isaac
>>77391008

It's weird to me that other watchers doubted the Eldian history so much. The history of their atrocities was only lost to Paradis for 100 years. The rest of the world wouldn't hate the Eldians EVEN MORE than Marley does if they weren't continually witnessing their empire. I thought that part would have been made clear during the Declaration of War episode. I did love the confirmation of Ymir's great works of cultivation though

Melkor
>>77391008

I know one reaction channel on YouTube that just said everything Marley says is lies all lies I wonder how that person will react when they find out it’s not all lies. lmao

Melkor

Demon slayer yesterday was extremely good James like that episode was amazing.

Gabriel Tavares
>>77389008

would be the worst thing in the world if we wont get the reactions of the movie. But to relax you most of the reactors react to the movie of demon slayer so maybe they will react aot too

botchie

must.. wait for.. post reaction... discussion!

TeaDrinker3000

Goddamn it I love being alive in the time and place for this show to be around

Isaac
>>77391008

Yeah, I've seen channels like that. I think they're not critically considering the timeline of events. 100 years ago, Marley was basically nothing and Eldians ruled the world. Not to mention that the rest of the world also exists and can attest to what happened. At least this clears the airbeyond a shadow of a doubt

Rinne
>>77389506

I mean c'mon guys. These shows have almost nothing to offer them. They've never shown interest in animation quality, other than their comments about Arcane which has a completely different style. I don't think flashy fights with subpar story will impress them. They'd like the kind heartedness of the characters I guess.

LM Reactions

i don't know how i cut the review up but i think we said most of those things or if we didn't we got it

sand_fl
>>77389008

@Gabriel Tavares yeah, i hope so. the thing is that if it's released as a movie idk how much time it would take since the release to the movie being availabe online. i's still waiting for the jjk movie since it wasn't released on theatres here. anway we still need to wait until march to have news but i'd say that it will take them another year to release the 3rd part/movie 💀

luke

Watching the Season 2 ending credits has whole new context now. They basically explained this entire episode

Savage Starlight

Go Eren! Go! Rumbling! Rumbling! It's coming Rumbling! I know millions of people are about to die but we've been talking about the Rumbling for years and now I finally get to see it. Sorry rest of the world, I need this.

Gabriel Tavares

Eren's speech to ymir is the best thing of the ep for me. The fact that Eren undestands ymir the most because she is a slave is so awesome. He give the chance of her dont bow to anyone anymore. Ymir and eren is the perfect combination of a slave and someone Who only fights for freedom

Gabriel Tavares
>>77389008

Yeah this about the a lot of time to wait is true. Maybe could a miracle appear and attack on titan release in all The cinemas because shingeki is something global

Cation

I am truly sorry you guys were dragged into this masterpiece of depression. The look of your face when they showed that Eren face at the end with him saying he will wipe everything out.. That was the final straw, you guys lost all hope on him. But don't forget, he said he would do this all the way back to season 1, first in episode 2 when he said he'll destroy every titan to season 1 episode 25 saying he'll destroy the entire world. And btw don't quit the show yet, we already suffered through 90% lmao. Love your reactions

Chrissy

why would you be on zekes side when he wants to kill all his own people.

sand_fl
>>77389008

@Gabriel Tavares tbh i'm not afraid of spoilers because i read the manga months ago, but if it's a movie and it's not released here it's going to be a pain in the ass to wait and to wait for the reactions

sand_fl

just watched the reaction and sorry but it's hilarious how you two just stay in silence for like 20 seconds after every episode and milena loos pensative and lola just pissed off

skitalks
>>77395117

why would you want to be on Eren's side he wants to kill everyone else but his own people. They are both wrong.

i know its off topic but i heard u say monster and i though how the anime "Monster" has some great content and quiet few episodes if u'll like to react to that i would love to join your jorney

LM Reactions
>>77395117

i mean eren is about to kill the whole world. zekes plan is also cruel because why should they cease to exist but it's more humane that what we're doing now

skitalks
>>77395117

Also even Erwin said that even if there is only one race of people, as long as humanity is reduced to one person, there will always be conflict. So I just wish Eren just talked to Armin and Mikasa before this, mass genocide can't be his only option, Eren is literally consumed by hate/vengence at this point.

Jacob
>>77391008

I haven’t read the books, but wouldn’t it be more like “the royal family/nobles of Eldia ruled with an iron fist? Not surprising the oppressed people wouldn’t see the distinction, but it’s not like ordinary Eldians had much say either, I’d assume.

Isaac
>>77391008

Now there's an interesting distinction. It's certainly possible. In my mind, however, I don't see a nation of people rejecting the nobles that are giving them the entire world on a platter. We would have heard more about those grumblings by now, I think. Though it must have happened to some extent, because Karl Fritz was joined by supporters when he left to found Paradis. They must have also agreed that Eldian rule was apalling.

ajoenpolvo

I have a question, I read some people saying that this story begins with Ymir freeing the pigs, but I saw her taking the guilty instead of really being guilty. Just like the other Ymir do when she said she was a succesor of the royal family. Someone can clarify this 🥺

Merlino
>>77401699

yes, probably in the anime they wanted to create a reference with that episode of the false ymir, and to do so they had to hide some scenes from you. In fact, the manga readers said that an entire flashback was cut where they explained a lot of things, they will probably insert it later for narrative choices.

Mati D.
>>77401699

All the slaves have their tounge cut, so they can't talk, that's why we never heard Ymir's voice. She didn't free the pigs, but everyone blame her, probably because of the type of girl she is (what Freida explained) and because she can't defend herself or say who it was (in case she knew).

Eren Yeager

The devil Ymir made a "pact" with was in the end a human with a horned helmet, the king of Eldia. The devil was a human

David Sikes

I love how convinced you two have been for a long time that the Rumbling is happening, even down to how much killing Eren will do but no one is ever prepared for how QUICKLY it happens in the story

The ancient Marleyans resemble the earlier Romans, and today's Marleyans (and some Marleyans of Elderly descent) have Italian-influenced names like Niccolo, Carlo, and Porco. Marleyan cuisine consists of pizza, pasta, and seafood. In addition, they have a kind of Italian aesthetic, like the military uniforms that look like Italian colonial uniforms, or the weapons they use that look like Carcano rifles. Furthermore: The name Marley clearly comes from the Italinian word Mare, which means sea. Lago, the ancient city that was destroyed (Grisha / Zeke Backstory, Season 2 Ending), means lake in Italian. The ancient Eldians, on the other hand, look like Germanic barbarians or even Vikings, and most modern Eldians have German names and surnames, such as Yaeger, Braun, Braus, Ackerman, Kirschtein, and so on. Their folklore is also more northern European. Ymir, for example, is a character from Norse mythology that really exists. In our world, the Germanic tribes were enslaved and colonized by the Romans. In AoT, their world map is a mirrored version of ours, and it seems that their history is also mirrored: the " Germanic tribes " defeated the " Romans " with Ymir's powers. On Norse mythology: Muspelheim and Niflheim are the oldest of the nine Norse worlds. Muspelheim was a world of primordial fire, filled with lava, flames and soot. Niflheim is a primordial world of ice, mist and snow. It was a mixture of the icy air of Niflheim and the burning air of Muspelheim that created the primordial soup from which the primordial giant Ymir emerged. After the gods (Willy [Vili], Odin, Vé) have killed the primeval giant Ymir, they create from her corpse all existing things. The world tree Yggdrasil is the first tree that grows (embodiment of creation as a whole: spatial, temporal and content). It is the largest and most magnificent tree in the world. Its branches spread over all nine worlds and stretch across the sky. Yggdrasil has three great roots that spread to three of the nine worlds.

Albertan Motorcyclist
>>77391497

The one thing that has me confused now is the origin of the royal blood. If all subjects of ymir are descendants of her children, all subjects of ymir should be of royal blood. The only thing I can think of is that the royal blood has nothing to do with ymirs children but rather Fritz' descendants with another woman. However, that would mean the royal blood eldians wouldn't be subjects of ymir, which we know is not the case. Perhaps the explanation is that descendats of ymirs children are the royal blood lineage, and the rest of the subjects of ymir are simply people who consumed the spines of ymir's daughters and their descendants, and from that point on passed the power down to their children as they were born. I suppose that makes sense, because the tree doesn't grow the 3 branches until ymir's daughters consume her body. If anyone is better able to explain that(without manga spoilers) I would appreciate it

SirMark89
>>77406421

To me Marleyans look more like Greeks with thiers spears, helments and phalanx fighting style.

Mati D.
>>77391497

I actually don't remember, i had the same question while writting that, i might ask in the AoT reddit and let you know.

Albertan Motorcyclist
>>77403973

That's an excellent interpretation. I thought something similar, but I more so just thought it was along the lines of being metaphorical for joining hands with eldia. I hadn't considered it to be directly king fritz with his "devilish" helmet, but that makes more sense. Kinda surprised I didn't pick up on that myself lol

SirMark89

The way I see it: Eren idea is to value the freedom the most. This is way he freed Ymir from the 'curse' of being a slave. It is what I like about him howover his decision what to do with the rumbling is a contradiction of compasion. He's more like the first Fritz king than any other character which makes me hate him. I don't see how his ideology holds up. To be honest Zeke or Frieda solutions are more acceptable to me.

Roy Saw

So god damn tired if that link I can't watch it sideways I can't click on the screen with out a link opening and I can't skip a damn add it just opens the add.

Maia Brodsky
>>77406421

I think we only saw pizza at the festival, meaning it could have come from any nation, but the types of food Nicolo cooks does remind me of Italian food, maybe some Spanish type cuisine too?

Mati D.
>>77393738

I saw the "I'm too young for this shit" yesterday on twitter and i lost it, so good.

Maia Brodsky
>>77407343

Armin's solution was better than all of those imo. No, it's not a permanent solution, but that's precisely why I like it. Do the best you can, don't try to play God, and let future generations determine their own path if new choices need to be made down the line. I dislike the idea of 'deciders' who think they have the right to make permanent decisions for entire groups of people.

Merfhew
>>77397716

Third. It's been a while since I watched it, but Monster is truly a masterpiece.

Robert H.
>>77401699

You can see at 8:40 that the slaves get their tongues cut off. Mappa probably didn't dare to demonstrate that as well. Would also have been super disgusting.

Robert H.
>>77395117

I would have been with Armin: Take out the Allied military forces in Marley and try again to make contact after the rumbling demonstration.

Eren Yeager
>>77403973

Yeah I don’t know if it was for sure Isayama’s intention but that would maybe explain the apple as the seed that became the whole lineage of ymir’s subjects. We can see in the picture that she’s giving it to the devil like there is your empire of monsters

Rinne
>>77391497

I always viewed it this way - the 3 daughters get 3 titans each. Eventually they have a total of 9 children and each of those gets a titan. Whoever got the Founding Titan "started" the bloodline that we know now as royal blood. It's not that they were more Ymir's descendant than the rest but they were the one to rule since Founding titan controls all essentially.

Raziel_BBT
>>77395117

I don't think that Eren ever tried to justify his actions with morals. He knows that what he is doing is evil, but he is doing anyway

Adrian Chen

You can watch the part 2 trailer now!

Tav

So the YouTube video will be out tomorrow?

Mati D.

I'm hoping 2 hours discussion with a lot of wtf and "if............. i'm gonna kill myself".

Christian Medeiros
>>77401699

It's a "spoiler" as in you haven't been given the answer to that in the anime yet but getting the answer does not spoil anything else about the show, it's just a yes or no so someone can tell you here or in PM's if you really wanted.

Rich

the AOT reactions are always, ALWAYS cursed with long exports, crashes, delays, etc. lmao not complaining just funny

Zyrus
>>77390841

The world made their intentions clear when they declared war on Paradis. It was genocide for Paradis, or genocide for the world. A simple choice for someone like Eren.

Goob

Finally reactors who aren’t cheering on Eren and understand the gravity of the situation.

Kc
>>77420040

The same history...the same mistakes, over and over

Jacob
>>77391008

If real world history is anything to go by, the average Eldian would get any benefits from conquest long after the nobility and the royals, given that this happened thousands of years ago. I mean, I'm sure most of them went along with it, but what was the alternative? They couldn't stand up to the royal family's power any more than anyone else could even if they did want to. The reason I'm curious about if this distinction makes sense is because we're talking about a godlike ability concentrated in a tiny number of people, not conquest by some army with greater skill and better weaponry.

Rick Turpentine
>>77403973

I think the point of one side saying she made a pact with the devil and the other side saying she became a goddess is that nobody other than Ymir actually was there when she fell into the water in the tree. And even she probably isnt sure as it was pitch black and under water. Its like Eren Kruger said in S3, anybody can become a god or a devil, all it takes is for other people to believe it. She is both. because 2 sides believe two opposite things. There was no devil or god she came into contact with, what happened is exactly as we saw. Everything else is just the legend unfolding over 2000 years. Thats the way I interpret it at least.

Rick Turpentine
>>77406421

Before the Marian Reforms the early Roman armies did use phalanx strategies. They would use it less and less as they developed their cohorts / maniples / and other mixed unit tactics.

Albertan Motorcyclist
>>77391497

That still doesn't explain how royal blood works now. If all subjects of ymir are descendants of maria, sina, and rose and you're saying their the original royal blood, all subjects of ymir would therefore be descendants of royal blood like zeke or historia. We know that's not the case, so there's something else to this. I suspect it had something to do with the spines, which seem like the original way to pass titan powers down, but I'm not sure.

Obito
>>77423151

It's honestly so refreshing to watch them, it's nice to know not everyone cheers for genocide and the beating of a 12 year old brainwashed kid.

Nigochen
>>77423151

Ikr people don't know how crazy this is. What if it happened in real life and kim jong un just decided to destroy the world one day, I don't think they ll cheer for him then.

Savage Starlight
>>77423151

Always remember people, this is a tv show. Cheering for Eren doesn't necessarily mean you're supporting genocide on a global scale in real life. Also, maybe we're watching vastly different reaction channels, but I've barely seen anyone who is "cheering" for Eren. The Normies, Semblance of Sanity, BOLDcast, Animaechan, StruckByBelz, Into the Void Anime, and not even RT TV were happy and content with Eren's plan to wipe out the rest of humanity. LM really aren't special in that regard.

Mati D.
>>77423151

Exactly what Savage said, it's a show, it's fiction and sometimes you don't want the classic happy ending, i want something different, so i was really happy when this happened in the manga...

Rinne
>>77391497

@Neil Keep in mind that it probably isn't some accurate science. At any given moment of time whoever Ymir recognised to be her master for whatever reason, could just tell her to never obey anyone other than their direct descendants (I also imagine that is the exact way the vow to renounce war was created - "Ymir you will impose my will on the rest of my family whenever they inherit my titan" or something like that). In the case that it is extremely scientifically accurate it could be that the royals today are the people who kept as much of the original genetic code as possible, through incest or just luck. So lets say the normal Eldians end up having 0.01 of Ymirs genes 2000 years later and the "royal family" has 0.1 of those genes.

ublock origin is the adblocker you want. Just google "ublock origin" and get it for chrome/firefox depending on what browser you use. It works on youtube too, honestly I can't imagine using the internet without it these days, lol.

Víctor G.
>>77423151

I'm a little tired when people say "it's fiction". Well actually no, the way you feel about a piece of art (movie, music) and EVEN an anime like AoT reflects your own personal moral and ethics. I know, mindblowing huh? If people only took it as a piece of fiction, we wouldn't have to see TONS of reddit discourses and twitter fights about how this is "wrong" or "good". SO NO, saying it's just fiction it's -sorry for the word- DUMB

Dzejik
>>77423151

Is Kim Jong in your scenario saving his people from genocide?

Mati D.
>>77423151

No it's not, you're just mad because people has a different opinion than yours.

Nigochen
>>77423151

No matter how bad it is nothing justifies killing the entire world

Jacob
>>77423151

Honestly, both sides of this argument are somewhat true. To what extent a person's engagement with a fiction story, especially a speculative fiction story, reflects that person's morals and ethics will vary based on the person, and on the story. Hell, even the person's mood could change that. Sometimes there's going to be a strong reflection, sometimes it's going to be a mild reflection. Sometimes you (general you) might just be engaged for entertainment, with no/little larger implications. A total disconnect isn't all that common, but "it's fiction" is still a valid point to bring up, depending on context.

Jacob
>>77423151

Right now, the Rumbling is somewhat theoretical (it started, but it hasn't reached anyone yet), so that's almost like a second layer of fantasy on top of the first. But even so, to Victor's point, people love to argue about things on the internet, even heatedly, whether fiction or not. I don't think that's necessarily conclusive.

Jacob

I've had trouble with the character of Ymir since I learned about this part of the story. *Mild (technical) spoilers*, but.... If I recall correctly, she did actually set the pigs free. When she had no power, she rebelled, albeit in a very small way; but with the power of a god, she merely served. That's really hard for me to wrap my head around.

Gabriel Tavares
>>77423151

Man what a like the most is reactors that understand for what eren is doing that but undestands the gravity like lm do. People Who live just to say eren is a garbage genocide and cancell on Twitter is so boring

Savage Starlight
>>77423151

Thanks Jacob. Couldn't agree more. I never claimed that there can't be a connection between your reaction to fictional scenarios and characters and your real moral system. There can be but it certainly isn't as clear-cut and unavoidable as Victor suggests. Like you said, people could be on Eren's side for all sorts of reasons (entertainment value, your mood on any given day, etc.). I simply reject the insanely insulting and short-sighted claim that everyone who is cheering for Eren in a fictional anime show must be in favor of global genocide in the real world. It's also a plus if you don't put your own opinion on a pedestal by calling the other side of the argument dumb.

Slaizio
>>77448676

In the manga you dont see who did it. King Fritz asks the slaves who did it and they all point at her. It could have been anybody and it doesnt matter. The rest is interpretation.

Jacob
>>77393738

The baby one gets darkly funnier the more you think through the implications. Think of all the people getting this message: not just babies, but elders on their death beds, couples on a first date, couples in bed together, people on the toilet, people showering, surgery, etc. What if you're in a fist fight with another Eldian when Eren comes calling?

Mati D.
>>77393738

Right? It's the same with Thanos snap, you can even see memes with pregnant women vomiting dust...

Rinne
>>77448676

Even if she did set a pig free, why do you think that it was with the notion of fighting the enslavers? Could be just because she felt bad for the pig. It's in her character.

Robert H.
>>77448676

I understand it like this: she released the pig and was punished so much that she didn't dare to go against her master again. She was a slave through and through. Moreover: She possessed all the Titans and thus their abilities. What did she see in the future of her later inheritors?

Muck
>>77406421

Jacob
>>77448676

“Recall” was a poor choice of words—I was speaking based on what I’ve been told about the books, but that could be inaccurate. @Rinne: I meant rebel as in an act of implicit disobedience, not in a broader sense of resistance to the slavers.

Jacob
>>77441629

Damn, that really puts things in perspective. It’s way different to see it play out directly.

sand_fl

the edit about the crashed laptop was posted yesterday or today? i just saw it but i don't know when it was edited

Goob
>>77423151

Guys. I need to clarify. I never meant that people cheering on Eren meant they were pro Genocide. I just like it when reactors are emotionally invested in the world and its people and their well-being. Of course, you can love this show and support Eren without being pro Genocide. Likely, reactors that cheer him on just love his character and his drive and determination. People don’t need to engage in literary analysis to enjoy the show. It’s just something I like doing as a book nerd. I for one, don’t support his actions, and I’m the only one in my friend group who doesn’t. That’s why it’s refreshing to see people who share my opinions. Hope this clears everything up! I don’t want to start a heated debate.

Goob
>>77395117

Eren also is killing his own people. Most of the Eldians of the world (those who live off of Paradis) are going to be crushed in his plan.

Nour Ariqat

Just to remind you that titans don't heal if they don't have the will to live like reiner in part 1 of s4. Ymir lost the will to keep going after being told to get up my slave.

Delmoi (忍者神)

It's actually hilarious how accurate a lot of your predictions are at this point, lmao.

Robert H.

The following can be considered a minor spoiler, but I just really see it wrong everywhere, unfortunately: Ymir does not build every titan in the Paths. She only has to create the Titans that the Founder Titan created out of thin air. That's why we only see her building Colossal Titans from the sand, more specifically Wall Titans. The Pure Titans and the Titanshifter Titans are determined by the serum and the Titan power. How big a Pure Titan is is determined by the serum. How a Titan looks visually depends on the person, their personality, and other conditions (will become clearer what the other conditions are in later episodes).

Camelot B

The reaction and reviews are always priceless Milena in shock looking at Lola: The rumbling happened in this episode...*looks directly at the camera with wide eyes* is supposed to happen in this episode?!!??? LOL Also Milena: We thought Armin would not know Eren's intentions till the end, and he knew this episode CAUSE EREN TOLD HIM HAHAHAHAHAHA *psicotic laugh* I laughed so hard xD
