i haven’t watched better call saul yet but from to the post and the tweets i can see you’ve been thought it... now you have the last 20 or so episodes of fmab, and the last 10 of the expanse. you must be a bit overwhelmed with so many things ending :|

we watched the last episode of derry girls on the same day we finished bcs, so we really are going through it

@LM Reactions omg, you have my condolences, specially with the penultimate episode of derry girls (the one with the dad, it was the penultimate right) i'm going to be mourning derry girls for years to come. no, but really, so many shows ending 😭

"why is everything going to shit?" because youre in the final third of the show :)

Milena was really struggling with that coffee 😂

Robert H.

So far, the timeline in the story is about a few months.

Danny

not sure if u picked it up but that girl helping serve food was the one from i believe ep 3 who almost joined the church in order to revive a loved one until Ed and Al stopped the priest guy

sand_fl

not lola making fun of how milena pronounces the name of hohenheim lol i actually spilled soup in my hoodie while having dinner and watching the video and then i also dropped my ice-cream in my shorts because my cat jumped me... i can relate jdjdk i'm a klutz when eating/drinking ngl, you two calling him just van is werid as hell. i think i've never heard someone calling him van. sounds like a car to me 😂 can't believe i'm watching you two cheering for hohenheim and showing affection towards him. who would have thought. i remember you dishing him left and right 20 episodes ago. quick question, you're not starting another show after bcs right? because i know you are reacting to the tlotr show and the got show when they come out. you have any idea of what show you are going to watch after the expanse? i remember you put midnight mass and the witcher in a previous poll and was wondering if there's a possibility for you to watch those in the future.

the struggle with the coffee was real

the girl handing out food in Lior was the one we met in the first few episodes who was a follower of the fake priest believing he would resurrect her boyfriend. Ed told her to stand on her own legs and walk, and now she has

was Hohenheim really hungry or was he just pretending? With the philosopher's stone, wouldn't he be immune to hunger?

I mean, he'd be immune from dying of hunger, but that's not the same thing as not getting hungry. He seems to sleep and such like a normal human after all. He could probably survive a long time without eating and just use the energy of his stone, but that doesn't mean it would be an enjoyable thing to do.

It's a fine question. It's one thing to be hungry, but he seemed downright weak. That doesn't make a lot of sense for someone with such a source of energy at his command. But naturally that makes me think he'd be reluctant to "eat" the souls within him for energy. He probably prefers to eat normal food and suffer normal exhaustion rather than consume his stone.

I think he's playing the long game, reserving his own resources because he knows how hard it will be to achieve his end goal.

The reason why Ed looks older and older is because of the target audience. A good metric for the age-range of the target audience is the age of the main protagonist. So Ed starts off as 15 and because this is a long series spanning years (production wise, not story wise) he has to be adjusted to fit the target audience. This is so as not to lose any audience along the way. The Japanese make anime like engineers build bridges, it's less about creativity and more about science. Creativity is left to the manga artists.

My head cannon is that food provides energy right? So he could immune it but eating every day also doesn't 'cost' energy. And consider how his character feels about using the souls of his countrymen instead of a meal?

Well, the age also corresponds to the story. Within 6 months, the characters who go through puberty age a lot. Especially with Winry you notice it very much, if you compare episode 6 and the current episode with each other.

Yes, that's what you ideally want, to have the characters age at the same rate as the audience. But I think FMA does a poor job at representing the passage of time. Usually you have stuff like going through the school curriculum, changing of seasons, holidays, etc to hint at time passing. FMA doesn't have any of that so the anime studio age Ed between the seasons even though story-wise only days have passed between the ending of the previous season and the beginning of this one.

Hohenheim has centuries worth of game..😆smooth af

IDK, his aging always felt pretty natural to me. It's true that we don't see things like holidays to help us process how much time has passed, but it still seems to come across pretty clearly imo. But that's just me.

When is episode 43 coming out for tier 2? 🥺
