wasn't expecting this today, what a nice surprise

“I’m not gonna cry anymore” - famous last words.. this episode makes makes me sob every time now matter how many times I watch it

bondbond53

These girls are gonna be so dehydrated from all their crying after the last episode I can only imagine. It was an excellent and a poor decision to watch these last episodes back to back.

Cody Battis

Yes! So excited for this end

Jay Hewitt

Mad excited for this one went to the store for a snack just to watch this

Harfie

I know you guys are crying, but why am I here laughing 😂 poor Lola just replenished her tear reservoir only to deplete it and more in 5 mins

Kanza

Alphonse mf Elric

Al was in the background the last few episodes without much to say or do but this return episode is him being an absolute Prince non-stop

imcalledgpk

I think this episode is the one that really hammers home what the Truth is. It's a purely transactional being, although, it seems a little sadistic. Of course the others all gave up something to be much better at alchemy, but this is really the first time that we can see a tangible exchange happening in the other direction.

Only 2 more episodes to go 😭

sand_fl

Can't believe we only have two episodes left 😭😭😭 when lola always said that she wasn't sure how but she was convinced mei would be crucial in the final fight she didn't know how right she was. not only did she save hawkeye's life and save everyone's ass in the father's place after the sacrifice but al wouldn't have been able to give up his soul in exchange for ed's body had mei not been there. i am so proud of her and of couse of my boys. all three are the bravest children and i'd kill for them. also the part of hohenheim shielding both izumi and ed always make me emotional as fuck. if you're crying this hard right now i cannot imagine what the next two episodes will be. by the way, since i'm pretty sure you're starting vinland saga after fmab i think you'd like to know season two will be premiering january 9th, so just like with mob you will be right on time.

Wanda Did Nothing Wrong

We all knew these last eps were gonna be pure tears, but I’m honestly a bit scared for the ending of the next one. No one is ever ready for how much they feel about him going.

Austin Wiebel

as if I wasn’t crying already from my college team losing….at least these will be good tears 🥹

Joey Joseph Jojoson

"I wanted the chance to have friends like these..." is such a cheesy line, but this show fucking earned it! The first time I heard Greed said it, I burst out crying too. "My name is Greed, and I want to be your friend!" - Greed's first line (talking to Al).

MaxVSTheGames

This was the episode I was most eager to see you react to. The way Al sacrifices himself to give Ed his arm back always gets me. I've seen that scene at least 20 times, and it makes me cry ever single time.

My Toasty Toast

Girls if you want an anime with beautifully written characters where even the villains are people you feel emotional for I cannot recommend Ranking of Kings enough. It’s like a GoT/LotR hybrid, but with a mute/dead protagonist that would make your heart melt (as well as every other character)

Herbert Anungazuk

The author knew the ending before the first manga came out -

Robert H.

"What's the first thing you'll do when you get you arm back?" Al asked Ed before they went to Briggs. "Punch God, apparently." Says Ed.

Orr Malus

Truth is God, he says so first time he's introduced. Every character which performed human transmutation never offered anything in exchange for a soul, this is why Truth took something from them. They were trying to gain something without sacrifice therefore they had something taken away from them without getting anything in return. With Truth it's not about echivalent exchange but about what you're willing to sacrifice, which is a major theme in all religions. Ed got Al's soul back by sacrificing his arm, then he got Al back with another sacrifice which is when Truth (God) finally smiled kindly on him. You cannot make a transaction with God because that would be prideful but you can make an offering in the hopes of getting an unforeseeable blessing. This is what Ed got, his final reward was far greater than that which he sacrificed even though he didn't ask for it directly.

Alex cleveland

Please give it to us.... the last two together would be so justified for the series with having 63 & 64 at the same time!!! Lets end it off with a bang!

DougRaw

Lol, Lola said "wait he has to sacrifice something" and I yelled "Equivalent Exchange!!!" at my screen. Also after that Milena mumbled something but I'm not sure what it was, wondering if one of you could help me figure it out. It's around the 16:07 mark

My Toasty Toast

Yeah that’s why I was recommending it. I really think the two of them would specifically enjoy it

Link

They are too focused on the wholesome aspects of the story and forget/don't realize that this is a story about sacrifice

Rinne

She said "what do you mean he has to sacrifice something :((". She wasn't surprised that Ed has to, she was shocked that they'd make him do that in the show.
