Content

time to replace the expanse with a new longer show. these shows were heavily requested for years. starting next week vinland saga is gonna replace fmab and we'll also add another short live action show

Comments

Reanimator14454

Mr Robot fuck yeah, maybe Im finally gonna watch it lol

Josh B

Recommend The Americans sometime! Since you love BCS I think you would like it! Slow burn psychological spy thriller.

Balmung

lol one piece

LM Reactions
>>94722781

i’ve watched it and it’s one of my favorite shows, milena has yet to watch it and i envy her

Jesper Bang

Mr Robot is a must at some point. Think it would fit your taste. Would also recommend Deadwood. It is an older show so not many bring it up. Great characters in that one.

Isaac

Oh, I'm so excited

Alexander Shirkov

Mr Robot: A show about real hacking, no hollywood hacking. It has an amazing story, with even better cinematography (those one shot scenes are sooo good) One of my favorites ives seen, i sure you two will enjoy it (and cry a lot too lol)

sand_fl

Yes to Vinland Saga. And I hope Midnight Mass is on the other poll, though I'm afraid it wouldn't win either way. I stan an underrated masterpiece 😭

Jay

“Your lie in April” would also be nice to watch some time in the future it’s an incredible sad short 22 episode show, definitely your kind of anime show.

sand_fl

Also I haven't watched The Last Kingdom yet, it's been on my watchlist for years, but I heard both Aemond and Heleana's actors appear in that show and now I'm curious because both of them, specially Ewan, are doing an amazing job in House of the Dragon.

DaftBasterd

I cannot WAIT to watch Mr. Robot with you both! I watched the series alone as it originally aired and wished I had watched it with someone else because it's SO GOOD and there's SO MUCH to talk about! Hope it keeps the lead, but all 3 shows are absolute bangers, can't wait!!!

Isaiah Cox

Oh my god black sails is one of the most underrated shows I’ve ever seen. Literally every reactor I’ve seen watch it has put it in their top 10 shows

Nick P

All 3 are fantastic options tbh

sand_fl
>>94723042

I agree, but it's not a popular one so I guess it'll never end up winning polls. I admit the less I'm exited about is mr robot because I watched the first season when it was airing and I didn't enjoy it... I guess I'll have to give it a second chace because it's clearly winning this poll.

beans

vinland sagas never really interested me as a show, but im sure your reactions to it will be fun!

Dante
>>94723042

It’s one of my favorites as well. Though Mr. Robot is my 2nd favorite show of all time. The girls will no doubt love all 3 shows on this poll.

Isaiah Cox

Quick question for the comments is HxH gonna be on a poll after Vinland saga is over? Or is it something they’ve already decided to watch

Grst

How is TLK not winning. It's perfect for them.

vojeeisgaming

Anime "The Promised Neverland" for a short live action show or if u want a movie i recommend "Sword of the Stranger"

melo

Im gonna cry so hard if mr. Robot ends up winning. The girls are the perfect reactors for this show and it’s such an underrated masterpiece I’m glad it’s in 1st place as the time I’m writing this comment let’s hope it stays that way

Lachlan Smith

Last kingdom all the way! One of the best shows I've watched in the last 10 years. Don't get me wrong Mr. Ribit good too but Def don't think as strong both overall and as a show to react too

JATLA

Will there be an anime Poll for when FMAB is over too? Code Geass lost to mob pyscho in the last poll, hoping it will be in the next poll😂 (I’m glad Mr Robot is winning this poll right now too, great show)

Herbert Anungazuk

Please consider watching “Trigun” very short series and it’s also getting remastered soon.

AlexBoss

Definitely last kingdom. Gutted that robot is so far ahead in this poll as I consider it overall a mediocre show.

Kamina 1

Completely gutted The Last Kingdom is going to lose this poll 😔 a damn shame man. Thought we really had a chance this time.

My Toasty Toast

Black sails is so underrated, it has a rough first season but then the writing and characters and acting just skyrockets in season 2 through the end of the show, only getting better

Merijn

Steins;Gate or Code Geass? For a non live action

Kya Colosseum

Putting this forward for the next live action vote, Harlots is genuinely great TV

Pulp

Mr robot is s tier and it doesn't really get reacts anywhere.

Ali S.

Have you watched DARK ?!!!

Kara

I love Mr Robot and am legit shocked it's winning! Would be so excited to watch through again with y'all

Dante
>>94725623

I wouldn’t even say the first season is rough. There is just a ton of world building and groundwork that needed to be done for the story. Seasons 2-4 are as good as they are because of the fantastic groundwork S1 laid

PamRenea

What happened to The SandMan????

PamRenea

MR robot is so Mid. Eww

Kara
>>94723042

Mr Robot is a great show. It changes a lot through its 4 seasons too (and imo becomes 10/10 TV in S3 and S4)

Kara
>>94724216

saaame I never thought it could win! I totally underestimated how many fans there are. You're so right about it being perfect, I can't think of a better show that they haven't already reacted to, the discussions will be unreal

Sebastian

maybe theyve already seen it but The Bear on hulu is a great short show. 8 episode character focused drama about found family in a kitchen staff. after bcs ended its just what i needed!

cosmotron

I’m really hoping Black Sails ends up pulling ahead. It’s a great show and I know the discussions you both would have would be so so good. With the way the poll looks now I’m not too optimistic, but it has only been up for a few hours.

ODIS

For short live action show, could you please add FIREFLY? It's only 15 episodes and a movie.

cosmotron
>>94725623

Yeah I think the first season is still good (with one plotline in particular that I could do without) but it’s just very much the prologue to the larger story. And once that larger story kicks off, it just gets better and better.

cosmotron
>>94723042

Yeah ever since I found this channel I’ve been hoping they would do Black Sails, because it seems like a perfect fit for them.

cosmotron
>>94724216

I feel that way about Black Sails lol. I’ve heard good things about Mr Robot though.

Fallen1105

Hands down Mr.Robot, but please prepare to be emotionally ruined :D

Damien Fenton

For live action, I'm gonna recommend For All Mankind with Joel Kinnaman again. It has great characters and story. Worth a spot on another poll I think.

Cation

Although I really would recommend Mr Robot, I would start with The Last Kingdom cause it has a faster pace and you coming from Vikings would really dig it and know some of the history

A

No dog in this fight but I'll take the opportunity to watch Mr. Robot for the first time, it's supposed to be good right?

Austin Wiebel

here’s a suggestion: Westworld 🤠🤖 another HBO banger with incredible cast, story, Ramin Djawadi from GoT doing the music. you should watch the pilot episode & see how you like

Emori

I've been avoiding mr robot but i may be forced now :P hopefully one of the other ones wins but we do what we do

Robert H.
>>94741870

They've already seen Westworld, I think there's even a reaction to the last season.

Robert H.
>>94729738

Yep, for me it's a thing between Mr. Robot and Black Sails. Mr. Robot would have great social criticism, a lot against American capitalism, to which their discussions would be interesting to hear.

Robert H.
>>94728133

Me too... Dark is a perfect series when it comes to analyzing everything you saw in the episode. The discussions would have been great. In Attack on Titan, the discussions also added incredible value to their Reaction. In general, I'm really looking forward to Part 3 of the Final Season.

Orr Malus

Downton Abbey. Let's go!

Robert H.
>>94725629

Steins Gate has aged terribly in my opinion and my rewatch a few months ago not only knocked it out of my top 20, it actually landed in my Worst 20 of all time. Since they already had problems with Misa (understandably, in my opinion the problems with Misa are even worse), Steins Gate would not appeal to them. Code Geass has a similar problem of aged poorly, not nearly as bad as Steins Gate, but the plot is so damn similar to Attack on Titan that I would rather push a reaction to Code Geass 1-2 years after Attack on Titan. But we also have until January to figure out what they might look at after Mob Psycho. I'm still hoping for Spy x Family (25 episodes by January, half a year of content if they watch one episode a week, which will be really hard with Anya). Violet Evergarden, Haikyuu, Erased, Odd Taxi, Monster, Your Lie in April, ... also come to mind.

Merfhew
>>94724623

It's getting remastered soon? Is that separate from the new Trigun anime?

Merijn
>>94725629

Haven’t rewatched Steins:gate yet but for a first watch it’s definitely worth it I think, to then after perhaps watch steins;gate 0 (which was pretty good). Code Geass is beyond amazing still which I think they’d very much enjoy probably more than Steins;Gate. But yeah Monster, Erased & VE are definitely good options as well. SpyxFamily is really enjoyable to watch but doesn’t strike me as much as Mob or Violet Evergarden do for example. Then again, just curious to see what they’ll go for haha.

Epsilox

Really hoping for Mr. Robot, I've been dying to hear your discussions on this show. One of my favorites that is pretty underrated overall.

Dante Moten
>>94754198

Same. Such a great and intteresting story overall. Do you have any clue as to how long the poll will remain open?

phantom rouge

what anime are you gonna watching after fmab?

Kya Colosseum
>>94725629

Completely agree with Robert, neither of these would be a good fit for them due to the awful portrayal of so many of the female characters

Arctic_stark

Surprised Mr Robot is so far ahead, I feel the show starts off well but drops in quality quite a bit, and tries too hard to be surreal and intellectual. Its also not a good "reaction" show, and its a pretty miserable watch overall. Not sure why we're subjecting the girls to it. Where can we recommend shows for future polls? If we're going back to older series we might as well recommend true classics like The Wire and Mad Men. Also, Black Sails is actually phenomenal with a host of truly grey characters with unique motivations that takes a classic and expands it beautifully, with some epic reaction moments.

cosmotron
>>94756595

I'm glad Black Sails is climbing in the poll, though it seems clear Mr Robot will win (I guess it depends on how long the poll is open for, who knows what will happen). But yeah, Black Sails is great, and ever since I started watching LM's reactions I've hoped that they would do it someday.

cosmotron
>>94722865

I'd love for them to do Midnight Mass too, their reactions to Hill House and Bly Manor were great.

Dante
>>94754198

It looks like Mr. Robot has it in the bag no matter how long the poll is open :)

Dante
>>94756595

Mr. Robot MIGHT (and it’s a HARD might) slightly drop in quality from S1 to S2. But it’s straight up ridiculous to claim that S3 or 4 are lower quality. S4 is by far one of the best seasons of TV to ever come out it easily rivals the final seasons of BCS and BB. I would also highly contest your claim that it isn’t a good reaction show. Imon Snow and BrandonLikesMovies have both reacted to it and absolutely adored it. Their reactions were fantastic and LM’s will be too. It’s one of the best written and most thought provoking shows in history and I’ll die on that hill. Mad Men is one of my all time favorites but it’s laughable that you say Mr. Robot isn’t a good reaction show and then suggest Mad Men.

Merijn
>>94725629

Was it really that bad? Besides the obvious fanservice..

Wanda Did Nothing Wrong

All 3 are great shows, and as much as I wish for Black Sails to win this time, it just gives me happiness that it will be gotten around to after the other 2. I’m here for reactions to all 3 shows over the next however long it takes lol

T0ast
>>94756595

s2 of mr robot is a little slow, but 3 and 4 are incredible

Arctic_stark
>>94756595

Fair enough, that's your opinion and you can certainly pick that hill to die on. Those are huge claims to make, that Mr Robot S4 is as good as the final seasons of BB and BCS, and you are entitled to your opinion of course but I strongly disagree, no matter how vehemently you state your opinion as if its the objective truth. It's winning the poll so congratulations. And Mad Men wouldn't be my first pick but my point is if we are picking dramas for thoughtful discussion we might as well go with an all time great of TV like Mad Men that is also actually entertaining rather than just being depressing for the sake of appearing dark and intellectual. God forbid we actually have levity in a prestige drama and it isn't self-serious 100% of the time. Anyway, not looking to argue, the majority has spoken and I really hope LM have a good time with the show, better than I did for sure. Rami Malek knocks it out of the park at least.

Jay

Wait, I thought Hunter X Hunter was replacing FMAB? Vinland is ok, but it's nowhere as good as HXH.

My Toasty Toast
>>94765239

HXH they said at one point, but because it’s so long. Personally I don’t want them to because it’s never going to be finished and it’s just 160+ episode investment in a show that won’t pay off in the end

Sereeh
>>94765239

What do you mean the show does not pay off at the end? The ending of the show even though not a full ending is still a very justifying one.

Jay
>>94765239

Your comment is a spoiler. They read comments sometimes.

Robert H.
>>94725629

Stein's Gate is really bad. The character Itaru Hashida is unbearable, as he treats all the female characters, who are ultimately just Misa Misa clones (at least if we're talking about character depth and portrayal) as a piece of meat with no character, which ultimately isn't even wrong in this anime. In the first ~20 episodes, every female character is ultimately just spotlighted, sexualized, their life situation changed and changed back because X. And of course everyone loves Light Yagami ehhh I mean Rintarou Okabe because.... Yes, because... Ugh I don't know. Because he only sexualizes the girls once in a while and not all the time like his roommate? It's just bad. And what really shocks me is the scene with the trans woman he has feelings for, but then he says, "Unfortunately, she's a boy. A boy! A BOY!" and just throws her away. I mean: Excuse me? Is that the way to talk? The plot here can really be no matter how good, if every character is simply unbearable, then the show is not worth watching.

Batayroren
>>94765239

HXH is ok but nowhere as good as Vinland Saga with 8x the time investment that would be better spent on multiple shows and stories superior to HXH.

Merijn
>>94725629

Ah yes the unbearable roommate I do remember, maybe I just put those thoughts away. Then again its been a while since I watched it but indeed, the way you put it doesn’t make it sound that appealing. Personally I just really liked Okabe and maybe have the imagine of Steins Gate 0 in my head more. Perhaps Made in Abyss would be a good watch, the last season was really interesting to say the least.

Fish Smell Bad
>>94765239

why are you comparing HxH and Vinland Saga? They're both amazing in their own right but are completely different shows with completely different themes. I'm glad they're reacting to Vinland Saga.

wang y

How about cyberpunk edgerunners? You guys will love it!🙂

Patrick
>>94756595

To be honest I dropped off mr robot after season 2. Just didn’t feel like it was going anywhere. However it’s been so long that I have basically no memory of what happened in it aside from a few random scenes.

Dante
>>94756595

I know many people who share the same opinion as I do. BrandonLikesMovies said the same thing when he finished his reactions. This is not really a hot take nor are they particularly huge claims lol

Fish Smell Bad
>>94722903

definitely not :/ one of the most 6/10 anime I've ever seen, the best part of it was the classical music.

Arctic_stark
>>94756595

Yeah that’s called confirmation bias my friend. You knowing people who share your opinion doesn’t make it objective truth, even if that includes this Brandon you keep mentioning. Also I’m not sure why you keep arguing this point. If you enjoyed Mr Robot as much as BCS and BB then I’m happy for you, we all need more things we enjoy. I’ve already stated my opinion on Mr Robot above and that’s that.

Gon Freecs

oh i was hoping for hxh next :(

Spencer

Hoping for Mr. Robot! Definitely one of the more underrated shows in recent history and it has one of the best final seasons ever.

Alex cleveland

I dont know why people want HxH... Its legit 148 eps.. I would like them to actual watch something that's just as good but way shorter 🤷🏽‍♂️Plus HxH got some boring arcs imo. Would prefer a lot more shorter interesting anime that would always have their attention with each and every ep.

Jesse S

I think y’all would absolutely love this new series called Andor. It has every quality that you guys love in a tv show 😁

Ninaly

Hunter x Hunter and Steins Gate are basically rites of passages for every anime reaction channel, and both are permanent entries in the top 10 rated animes on MAL. I hope you'll consider them soon

Karlsson
>>94725629

The Characters and dialogue in the Dub are a lot better and more tasteful. I think they would genuinely prefer it much more. It’s more than a simple translation, it’s localized for western audiences while maintaining the good spirit of the original. The quality of the voice acting is up in par to FMAB’s as well in my opinion. But most importantly it does away with a lot of the unpalatable strangeness. So if they do end up watching Steins:Gate I would advocate for that.

Camzeee

Welcome back! Glad you guys didn't murder each other on a long trip together haha

Jesse

It was just announced that the Last of Us HBO show will air on January 15th. I really hope you guys will react to it when it does. The videogame it is based on is my favorite story of all time. A beautiful & emotional rollercoaster.

Metro498

Yeah, Mr. Robot will bend your brains and you will not be the same after watching this TV series. Seriously.

cosmotron

Mr. Robot still has a strong lead, but I'm glad Black Sails has pulled up into a tie with The Last Kingdom. Gives me hope for Black Sails getting chosen next time, since it beating Mr. Robot is fairly unlikely at this point.

Robert H.
>>94725629

I have not tried dub. But that will cost me quite a bit of effort to start a new rewatch to check it out. I am currently watching Psycho Pass and am now back to watching the movies between seasons 2 and 3.

Manuel Mitchell

All 3 great Shows. Black Sails is something else though. Incredible Character development.

Francesco Balducci

If you're searching for a short live action show, The Sandman is very unique. And it has been announced that Netflix will produce a second season.

Batayroren
>>94794724

Ping Pong the Animation is one of the most complete and well written stories with unique hand drawn animation that mirrors the manga style and it's #77 on MAL. Samurai Champloo #119? The top shows on MAL are more popularity than a well written completed story, just look at Bleach at #3.

Allison Cornell

Vinland saga? Damn, its okay, just not something I super super care about. Was hoping for something like jujutsu kaisen, edgerunners (short and phenomenal), and I know you guys said you dont really care about MHA because of you dont like super hero stuff, but I dont either and MHA is still super fun. Man, I know theyd love Deku and Bakugou. I REALLY hope you guys give it a chance. You have my word youd love it. But honestly what I want the most is jujutsu Kaisen. It has so much heart and still reigns as my favorite shonen since its come out. Then edgerunners, mha, and more. Hope after vinland saga there can be a spot for any of these. In the end do what you want to do, but as someone whos been watching you since ATLA days. I genuinely know youll love any of those shows, from the bottom of my heart Love you guys :)

Mahni Alizadeh

yall will love vinland saga for sure although there is a huge lack of female characters. pls consider HxH soon!!!

Nemo

Vinland Saga has (imo) the most solid first season of any show I've seen. Perfection all the way through, very happy that you will watch it!

Steven Cavanagh

Demon slayer (Anime) & Legend of Vox Machina (Animation) are both a lot of fun,

tom

Ah and now I'm seeing this. I saw the poll as a non-patron but couldn't see the options, so I was like "There's no way Mr Robot is on there, and if it is there's no way it will win". Now it's not surprising because it's up against shows that are somehow just as, if not more underrated than it. Black Sails is great, I hope you get around to it eventually. But oh man am I glad Mr Robot is actually happening. Let me know if you struggle to find it anywhere, especially since I know you two like your subtitles
