Nathan Elkin

Was literally thinking of recommending it because I’m watching it rn

Dammy Oshikoya

Oh boy, you girls are not ready, I would highly advise you bring tissues, A LOT of tissues. Have fun watching it, it's really good show

meef

yesssss lmfao. please stay hydrated when you watch this show. you will cry :-)

Yic17

Ooh you guys are doing it! This show is so freaking good you both will love it.

sand_fl

so exited to watch you scared as fuck again and jumping on the couch. boy i've missed you reacting to scary shows. one day it'll be midnight mass turn... i hope

Hollow

I have a mighty need for that full length ლ(ಠ益ಠლ

T0ast

will the full reaction release tonight?

sand_fl

if i had to guess based on previous reactions i'd say lola got scared at least one time not because of the show but because of milena's screaming

Anto

Hell yeah, the game is amazing and the show is living up to the game so this will be a... "fun" time. :]

Jay

What show is this replacing?

Smash Bran'Discootch

Now if only you were also watching The Legend Of Vox Machina, then you would be watching the two biggest shows currently of 2023.

Orr Malus

I remember saying they should skip this one and are far better off just playing the game. The first episode was an amazing adaptation of the source material. 10/10, very impressed.

Benodinson

A surprise for sure but a welcomed one.

cosmotron

Haha, I think you misunderstood the Veronica name. I’m sure you’ll get a lot of corrections about it, but Ellie was using ‘Veronica’ as a fake name because she was being held in a room and didn’t exactly know what these people wanted from her. So when Marlene called her Ellie, it wasn’t meant to be Ellie learning that’s her name. Rather she was surprised that Marlene knew that her name wasn’t Veronica AND that her name is actually Ellie.

Is that your personal opinion, or is that an actual statistic? If it's the latter, I'd be curious to hear how they determined that.

Zsdda

Nice girls I was wondering if you would watch it with us! Great show so far enjoy

Smash Bran'Discootch
>>101841599

The Legend Of Vox Machina is one of the most watched shows on Amazon prime which just lead to a massive, multi year deal between Critical Role and Amazon which has just greenlit multiple projects across all their campaigns. The Last Of Us is setting HBO view count records. So yes, based on actual statistics.

Bondsy

Her name never was Veronica. That was a pseudonym to keep her identity a secret. She's always been Ellie and Marlene was showing her that she knew her real name.

Merfhew
>>101841599

Right, but do you know what those statistics are? I'm aware that both shows are popular, but I wasn't sure what makes a show the "biggest" of the year. Is it just views? Ratings? Merchandise sales? Trending on social media? I didn't think streaming platforms released their numbers very often (Netflix certainly doesn't), so I was a bit surprised.

Michael Ryon

Ellie didn't know a song from the 80s. The piece of paper with the code was in a big book called 'The Billboard Book of Number 1 HIts'. She got it from that.

Olid
>>101841599

You'd need actual viewership ratings to determine if a show is 'one of the biggest shows of 2023'. Viewership ratings are usually dominated by Netflix - if you check Nielsen ratings right now, there's not even a single Amazon show on that list at the moment. Also, anecdotally, I don't even know a single person who watches Vox Machina in real life.

Smash Bran'Discootch
>>101841599

Well it all entirely depends on which metrics you're including. For instance, I can throw out the number $11million which is what The Legend Of Vox Machina made before it even released as the subject of the largest film and TV Kickstarter in history. On Rotten Tomatoes, it boasts a 100% critic rating and 93% audience rating, rivaling Netflix's Arcane, the biggest show released at the time of its premiere. I could throw out tons of other ratings and statistics, including over 500million views on their YouTube channel, but like is that really what you're after? Because by all of your wording, it seems like you're trying REALLY hard to "Well, actually..." me and for what reason? If you doubt what I'm saying, literally go to youtube right now, type in The Last Of Us reaction or The Legend Of Vox Machina reaction and look how many results spring up. The algorithm doesn't lie, my dude. Neither do the numbers that HBO DOES release.

@Olid --- I've always wondered how accurate Nielson ratings are. I think I've found my wiki rabbit hole for the evening. lol

Merfhew
>>101841599

@Smash --- Apologies if I sounded confrontational. That certainly wasn't my intention, but I understand the point you're making. Thank you for taking the time to respond.

Patrick

The actress who plays Sarah is the daughter of Thandiwe Newton, Maeve from Westworld, so that might be where she is familiar to you as she looks a lot like her mother.

Dante
>>101841716

So you made that judgment before even watching a single episode? Weird

Camzeee

Excellent as always! I'm surprised Lola didn't pick up that Veronica was just a made up name by Ellie while she was cuffed. She was just being defiant. Her name is Ellie it always was just Ellie. She just didn't know that Marlene was watching her and so knew her name already.

sand_fl

scared milena is hilarious to watch. i know they don't react to mivies but god, i'd give my left are for a reaction to train to busan, hereditary or a tale of two sisters. you know? something really scary. well, train to busan is not that scary but it's such a good film. i cried my eyes out with sarah's death ngl. by the way, she's the daughter of thandie newton from westworld and she looks exactly like her, so that's probably why you recgised her face. fun fact but her dad is the director of imagine me and you (a classic that any lesbian or bi woman would know) and mamma mia here we go again. i was wondring if you knew anna torv would be in it but since you didn't mention it in the intro i guess you wouldn't so i was waiting for your reaction when you saw her. it's always funny see you suddenly see a character from another show you watch. ellie's whole attitude is so funny to watch, really just a teen with pent up anger and a smart ass. i'm loving bella's acting so far. i have never played the game but a bunch of my moots on twitter love it so i've been seeing things about it and the second part for years so i unfortunately know most of what's going to happen but i'm still enjoying it. can you believe that even though i heard many many spoilers i also didn't know it was about zombies? just realised when the episode started and i love the zombie genre so i was hyped from minute 1.

Kara

I think I'm an outlier in that I think the show is just okay (I've seen eps 1-3 and played the games) but this is a compelling reason to keep watching through! Looking forward to seeing how you react in the full-length

Ryan Coleman

OMG... this is going to be a rollercoaster...

Jake Sully

I've seen a lot of people react to the pilot and none of them echoed my thoughts until now. You made a very good point about not wanting to survive in a world like that where everyone's lost their humanity. I couldn't agree more. It's scary how many people are willing to do whatever it takes to survive, it's why an apocalypse like that would turn out so awful. Too many people just thinking about themselves and not others. (yes, you're still just thinking about yourself if you're willing to kill innocent people to help your family survive because it's not just about you and your family, it's about rebuilding civilization which sadly isn't really feasible for a violent species like us in an apocalyptic scenario like that.

Orr Malus
>>101841716

I played the game. The second game in the series was however a franchise killer whose sales rode mostly on the popularity of the first one. So people were very weary of this adaptation. Unfortunately it appears the quality of the first episode was just to hook you in because they already decreased the production value for the other episodes. The same strategy was applied with Season 1 and 2 of The Walking Dead.

Nathan Elkin

Cringing on the inside from the entire intro to this video because of how little you've been prepared.

Nathan Elkin
>>101841716

@Orr Malus That's crazy. You sound like you get your opinions from clickbait sources. Every episode has been remarkable.

Melkor

There were a lot of clues this episode as to how the outbreak spread. I’m surprised you didn’t catch them.

Toidleboy
>>101841716

@Dante lmao Orr Malus is basically well known on this patreon for having some of the worst/weirdest takes/opinions one could possibly have on literally every series the girls react to. quite an entertaining dude lol.

sett4r

didnt know you were gonna do this one, im so excited!!

Froziac
>>101867415

why? it's completely understandable hence the show explaining it explicitly later...

mapo picker

omg i really wanted you guys to react to this and this is such a nice surprise I'm so hyped

Diego santos silva

I'm so happy I wanted you so much reacting to this show!!

This is basically just life. Modern (used loosely) humanity's trend towards caring for people outside of our own in-groups is relatively unique. Prehistoric humans, as well as most lifeforms, tended towards protecting their own and fighting others where it gave them a survival advantage. Such is a key aspect of evolution, passing on the traits that best lead to survival and so on. People look through the lens of modern life at that idea with horror, but that's just nature, and being taken away from the artificial comforts of today's world would bring those natural instincts right back to the surface.

Javen Turner

The first game is genuinely one of the greatest forms of media created.

Dante
>>101841716

I’m pretty convinced they are a troll and don’t actually believe any of the vitriol they comment

Charlie McFarland

Not sure if someone already cleared it up, but Veronica was a fake name she gave. Marlene called her out by revealing she's known her since she was a baby, and knew her real name.

GV

Damn, I guess seeing this on Band Of Brothers day means no We Stand Alone Together reaction.

Brendan

haha would love to see you guys try some gaming adventures! I think The Walking Dead Telltale games would be a great start if you did :) easy to pickup and play + amazing story

tofuwater

just became a patron again to watch this with you!
