I'm really excited to read the comments now that we can all talk openly on Season 5's theme! I know not everyone is a fan of Season 5 but personally I'd put it above Season 3 enjoyment wise. I was about to start into their 4x13 review, I haven't even TOUCHED the AoT review yet because I didn't expect it for another day or two, but screw it, I'm gonna watch this right now.

I just yelled at the screen “IT’S GALE!!!!” 💀

Oh fuck, I promised myself I wouldn't forget to say this: Milena did you notice that your favourite shot during the intro of the rock hitting the CCTV camera is now in colour? It's in black and white in the first four seasons. A nice little detail to show the progression of technology 👌

"It's not children, thank you" *dead Wallace flashes up*

Season 5 is my favorite. After covid I got into writing and politics since I was unemployed. I just like how the news and media reported and debated topics. Another aspect is this is pre-social media. The internet is prevalent around this time and YouTube and Facebook are the only popular sites. The dot com boom is now a bust in Silicon Valley and the first iphone is introduced. We start to learn how online media took the place of newspapers and tv consumption.

Fun fact: The actor who plays Gus directed the very first episode of this show.

the Ricardo Hendrix guy is Fat Face Rick who is the big bald guy at the CO-OP usually with a cigar.. and im sure many other comments will let you know it was GALE.. aka the legend that had Gus Fring attracted to him.

You know the head of the newspaper from Breaking Bad (Gale) and from Suits (Daniel Hardman)

Another fun fact, the actress playing Gutierrez is married in real life to the actor that plays Dee.

No way! A lot of relationships went through the ringer during the covid lock downs.

I think the problem with Season 5 is That Plot. Everyone focuses on it, when there are so many, many amazing scenes and storylines. And yeah, That Plot is... not very Wire-like, but it's hardly the end of the world. And Gus rules.

The Wire and Technology is such a fascinating sub-theme that's been happening for a long time. Love this pickup, I never noticed it
