Gon getting preyed on by adults is fine as a plot point for a show, but the way it's sometimes played for laughs is the weakest part of what's otherwise my favorite anime

Unpopular opinion: Pouf is a my favorite royal guard. I like his half bug/half human design.

The reason it feels like nothing happens is because most of these episodes are build up and are better when they are binged. the arc is very stretched out so that the audience gets time to know each character and is able to connect better with them for everything to pay off in the end. if you guys have time I recommend watching multiple episodes in one sitting instead of one or two so that you wont end up getting frustrated lmaooo

Yeah, but a lot of Hisoka is deeply connected to hedonistic murder. At the very least, Palm is susceptible to being lied to and used. She attaches herself too easily to people who tell her what she wants to hear. I do sort of put her in victim territory which *spoilers* makes her character that much greater near the end. Self-realization after seeing someone breakdown because they can't help the person they love seems very line with her character. I chalk this up to Togashi being less mature at the time, but still retaining sympathy towards this character in a deeper way. I think with Palm it's played with laughs because the author knows it will never be taken to what the reader thinks, but with Hisoka it's unclear. Which makes him scary and disturbing. I might also have a bit of a gender bias on this one. It might also be because I watched the whole series. After so many rewatches, Palms not on my radar really.

Chrollo didn't have to explain how his ability worked (Zeno guessed it), you are confusing it with one of Genthru's abilities, the main guy of the Bombers. Netero said he would choose to avoid to fight if there were the possibility. Palm wanted to go to NGL and her master, Knov, granted her permission to join if Netero's kids would have won against Morel's students

Knuckle, Shoot, Palm, are all types of pitches (throws) in Baseball. I think Togashi has even said that's where he got their names from. Also I have no idea why the girl Palm is coming if Gon and Killua win. It makes no sense. How does Gon and Killua winning prove Palm is ready?

it's like asking why Netero decided to give a chance to Gon and Killua or why Morel's students had a condition too if they were unsuitable for the mission. We can just speculate about it. The reason for me is that they are hunters and like once Kite said they need to show their resolve, Knov knows that Palm's power is more suited to give support not to fight...she had to find a way to help them beat Morel's students and that's what she did.
