Update and thank yous for your continued faith and support through this difficult time for me.So update on my family situation. On Friday, march 27, my mother went septic in the hospital. They had to perform emergency surgery in order to save her life. They were very worried about this because she is still very weak (malnutrition/infection), and she has severe respiratory issues. It was a valid concern and a difficult surgery. They managed to save her life, but she's still in the ICU and even when she is well enough to go home, she's going to need a shit-tonne of after care. I'm working on this right now, seeing to other complications that need to be addressed, talking to dietitians, social workers, home care support, and mental health people. I'm also still co-coordinating a lot with family and friends to keep them informed.I've also come to some complications with my day job and home life that I'm dealing with as well, so I appreciate your continued patience. I will try very hard to get something for you guys soon that isn't just a news update. As a side, a bit of advice. If you still have parents, even if they are a pain the ass, bitchy, in your face at times, remember its better than them not being able to remember yesterday, medical directives, or that they have to eat food to live, and you having to change their poop bag on a daily basis and stop them from tearing out the things keeping them alive.Be grateful for today. It can and probably will get worse.Just saying.
