So another year has come and gone. This past year has been a very difficult one for me, with a lot of changes, and a lot of loss. It hasn't been all bad, but I feel like the bad has outweighed the good.

The first part of the year didn't go too badly, there was hope with my husband starting a new job, I got accepted to show at a convention in the US, (first one in several years). Then we started to have auto issues, so there were repairs, and the job didn't turn out to be as good as we hoped, and indeed towards the end of the year, he even got laid off over the holidays, which I need to find a way to make up. We did ultimately deal with the auto issues, but in September is where everything really got bad. My mom passed away September 16, and then 8 days later, I had to put my cat down due to kidney failure. I knew it was coming, but the timing was incredibly bad. I was already hurting so much, and then that was a killer blow. I was pretty much person non gratta for a month, and even after that, I've been pulling teeth to just get myself out of bed to my day job, and do everything I need to in a day.

December is always a terrible month for me. Everything horrible seems to follow in the footsteps of holiday stress. The pattern held relatively true, with some family drama, around my mom's estate, and just some general bullshit I refuse to put up with anymore.

I'm hoping that this year will be better. I want it to be better, I want me to be better. I want to be able to heal and move on, and work on the projects I love instead of having to handle crisis after crisis. Anyway, here's to the hope that 2019 will be a better year than 2018.
