Content

So, I wanted it to be better. I wanted to be able to focus on this and have more content for you guys, I wanted regular updates but that's not how its gone.

What happened? A few things. One is that I became a convention chair for a local furry con. If you don't know what that is, Its basically the big boss and head of a convention event. This is in addition to my regular day job. I figured I could handle this given what I saw my future workload to be at the time, however I also made a few promises in the past that suddenly kind of all came crashing down on me at the same time as people came to cash in their favors at the exact same time. I've also had several key volunteers have to quit for the convention and of course, there's drama and constant problem solving involved there that sucks away time to do other things.

I'm also still recovering from my mother passing away last year, and the changes that has brought to my family. But the constant demands on me 24/7 and having to force myself to constantly produce and work and work and work and never be able to deal with my emotions or trauma doesn't leave me with virtually any creative energy. I have no time to process. My husband and other relationships, such as friends, also need attention so its a constant struggle to find time to relax a moment, never mind actually drawing. There's also a chance I'll probably lose my last grandparent very soon.. so.. yeah.

Unfortunately this puts me in a bit of a situation, because I don't want to constantly be in a state of depression because I can't provide what I promised, and quite frankly, I'm burning out on account of the fact that I'm constantly without a break. I had hoped that Che would be able to do the coloring, but generally she's been too busy with work to do anything regular. So its fallen to me and I hate it (which is why I hired a colorist in the first place), and I'm very very very slow as a result and I don't enjoy it. Its work, it feels like work, and I'm already working about has hard as I can manage without full on breakdown and burn out.

So what do I do? Its something I've been pondering for a while and I haven't really come up with what I'd consider a good solution, but maybe that's just because my choices kind of suck.

One is that I shut down the patreon entirely. Come back at some later date when I've actually got the time and focus to maintain it.

Two is that I scale it back to more like a tip jar. I'll post stuff when I get time, but I won't be making any monthly promises of anything in particular. You guys can choose if you want to still continue to support me, and I totally don't blame you cancel your support until such time as I can actually be in a position to do something more regular.

Three is that I leave it as is and continue to try to struggle with it, But I feel that would be kind of a dick move, because I'm not meeting the promises I'm making.

Feedback is appreciated if you have a preference.

Don't worry about me, Patreon for me was never about getting things, just a means to consolidate most of the tips behind one site/payment. So.. get life in order first

Mystic

While I'm unable to contribute, I would suggest setting things as a tip jar, that way you may retain your fanbase who'll enjoy whatever you share, whenever you're able...
A-and if/when things finally settle for you, you have everything set for when you wish to progress at a faster rate.
I also agree with Little_me, While anything you may share is nice, I believe you should remember that your personal wellbeing should come first regardless of what any of us believe.

I'm not here for rewards, just to support an artist that I like. Do what you need to take care of you.

I'm sorry that life is sucker punching you. if you update your patreon i will become a member again. Also I am willing to commission you for nsfw art pic, with some of your shiftier characters, if you are interested.

Marie Tary

Part of my issue in this is that I don't have time to reliably deliver my patreon rewards, commissions are out of the question because I don't have time and I'm under too much pressure to deliver other things as is. That's why i'm looking at just changing over to a tip jar atm.

John Doberson

i see but will we be able to access all your patreon content in any other way? will you update shifters with all the current pages?

Marie Tary

If you are a patron, you'll still be able to access patron content as it becomes available. I'm just not making any promises as to a schedule or what I'll update when. You'll kind of get what comes when it comes. Lineart updates will remain exclusive to patreon. I won't be putting those on the website, but I'll probably update at least the color pages I have to the shifters site over time.

Tip jar is fine. I loved your first run at Shifters, so that's good enough for me.
