I finally found time for my defense of the mom. So Mom as a young girl falls in love with Dad and decides to go after him through his friend. She does not lie to this friend and get him on board to help her, he even becomes her best friend. Fast forward later, she finds out that her husband never truly loved her. I think finding out this information is hell. She confronts him about being in love with his best friend who is also her best friend and he runs away to his death. This leaves her abandoned by the two men she loves, one to death and the other who ran away cause he was a coward. She is left to pick up the pieces of her heartbreak alone. All she has are her movies{ the fantasies that Wang complains that she is too hung up on ) and the only other man she cares about, which is her son. Just like her husband spent their whole marriage thinking about someone else, her son spends his own life obsessing about his father. Mol has always been 2nd place to everyone in her life. So you can imagine her anxiety finding out that her son might leave for the same man that her husband left her. Her fear was that her son would be rejected like she was. I am so sad that no one tries to understand her loneliness, sadness, and disappointment. Mol is not perfect but I believe she's a victim of all the men in her life except wang. The lying, the deceit, and the cowardice. There's nothing wrong with falling in love with someone and going after them like she did with the dad. Just like Wang said, there's nothing wrong with wanting to protect your child from the world. The method might be wrong but she's trying her best with the card she's been dealt with. Wang can fantasize about his dad and create whatever image of him that he wants. And she has to watch him paint his dad as a hero despite the pain they all caused her. I am not saying she's perfect but she is human. I think the standards that we hold for mothers is way too high

YESSS! I love that analysis 😭😭😭 It really makes you think a lot her differently and allows you to empathize her with her more. That’s beautiful!! Just when I already thought I didn’t love this show enough. Thank you for sharing that ❤️☺️ -Brian

Phonic Reassignment

nah i think Wang had a crush on the guy in the photo, found said crush then fell in love, after admiration of that man. I feel like IN didn't ask for any of this tho and this "family" should leave him TF alone, stop blaming everything on him, like not for nothing IN suggested to Siam to date the mom, because she begged him to... but Siam literally didn't have to. i don't think it was fair for IN at this point to feel guilt just because the dad doesn't understand not to drink and drive. I'm sorry i have no sympathy for drunk driving^ DO NOT GET BEHIND THE WHEEL, B*&%h; if it's that important to leave or step out.... Then WALK! "TF", IN just needs someone.... like myself..... or whoeva... to swoop in and show IN that love he doesn't actually know about. the kind that'll stop time, the one that sticks around. i feel like IN is just feeling unreasonable guilt and unfounded regret, i can write a whole paragraph why he shouldn't feel guilt or regret. Wang is feeling unrequited Love/ Admiration with a bit of Nostalgia.... because seemingly Siam and IN where two of kind ("closer than twins" that's their reputation that everyone said; it's an insane one, especially for them not to have been a thing in the first place or for the mom to ask that of IN). because of them IN got a broken foot, scared heart, and a higher emotional barrier for the next person to get through. how will i ever get that damn house now!😒

I couldn't join you on this journey, because this series was just too bleak to revisit. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely loved the journey, but the ending destroyed me. It's definitely an important LGBT story, but I just didn't want to visit there again. My heart absolutely broke for In, it sees like he might never be able to move on, and I just want to give him a big hug. And the idiot mother, prattling on about inane shit in the car while her son is falling to pieces 3 feet away from her... omfg... 😡

ugh omg the metaphor of Wang still having “enough time to enjoy the day” and In saying he doesn’t 😭😭😭😭 It’s like he’s already decided it’s already to late for him to live his truth 🥺🥺 But im like NO ITS NOT TO LATE!! YOU CAN STILL FIND LOVE!!!

I mean, he's clearly hot enough to find a man, but he's just so broken and I think needs someone to help him open up again. It could have been Wang... 😫

THAT!! EXACTLY! I like to think his experience with Wang is what starts to finally break his wall downs and hopefully it leads to him being able to finally live his truth 🥹

This show was so heavy but also beautiful, i love how the director showed wang moving towards in at different moments so that nothing was separating them anymore (wang is taking the first step and trying to remove those obstacles). I also find it poetic that from an outside lense, it seems like all our protagonists ended up at the same place they started but there are so much that changed inside them with the truth being revealed. Wang helping In to build that bridge that connects him to the real world is so beautiful even if he could not cross it. The characters differences, the lines that separates them ultimately affects how they interact with each other. Especially wang and Mol. Although Mol tries to emotionally force Wang to stay by her side, it has the opposite effect. Her secrecy, lies, and prejudiced views make wang bolder, encouraging him to discover life and the truths shes hidden from him. Like the globe he carries, he’s trying to find the world and the realities his father knew while also trying to find himself. Like the glass globe that siam gifted wang and the wang gifted In, the world is a fragile place always on the brink of breaking. What we do with that world one we make the choice to take hold of it depends on us. Also, those ending lines gave me chills.

People mostly complained because it it was dialogue heavy and because they said nothing happened. People got bored and this shows really made me see that theres people who are only there for the BL and dont actually care for the deeper meaning. Most people who are complaining, are the ones fetishizing gay relationships. Those people only wanted them to kiss. I honestly would have founded it really weird if they suddenly started making out, thats not the point of the show and it doesn’t actually make sense with the story line.

EXACTLY!!! The ones who have feedback like that are really exposing themselves cause it really shows what they're really looking for in BLs and it's NOT quality. smh!
