It just feels like Do it Yourself, is the “master of my fate” choice here and that if Arthur doesn’t, neither he nor John will get to remain entirely their own. Kayne mocked the concept and killed Yorik for trying to be his own, DiY is the only way to stay in control as far as I can see.

I am voting to DIY because it gives arthur more control over the situation. maybe he can stall for time or give it to lilith or something. also i dont think kayne is manipulating arthur? he gave us a choice, so no matter what we do, we are going to be doing what he wants. I think that getting the stone ourselves instead of sitting back while kayne takes it will give us an advantage, and more defiance/master of my soul.

Also kayne has proven himself to be incredibly powerful, i think he is able to get it himself. the reason he is offering us this choice is because he wants to see arthur agonize over cutting open his friend.

I think the only threat to Kayne is Lilith which is out of play ATM. I’m not sure Author can DIY and stall long enough for the candle to die or maybe choose to let Kayne do it and blow out the candle himself while he’s trying to get the stone.
