I was bell, but I want to go on a Rat Quest: vote follow the Man’s directions

HD

The Rat Catcher seems neutral at best. He didn’t hurt Arthur when he clearly could and probably has no interest in putting him on a dangerous path. It should be alright to follow his directions for now. The bell should still ring, even if Arthur gets a little lost.

Rat catcher is neutral and his direction would be good for safety, but don’t forget there is a reason we are here, and it’s not to relax. I don’t think we are being told to not trust just because people will backstab us, but because it can lead us off track.

Something something Daniel said something in s4 about maybe about using the resources we have and asking for help, I say we take the help, so I’ll be voting for the rat catcher’s directions.

Jellybean

Rat man silly. I like him. Vote rat man.

Rat Catcher 🐀 Considering the sound’s location might be skewed due to reverberation off of the mountains/ tower/ landscape, there’s no guarantee that heading toward where we currently hear it coming from is actually where it is. The rat catcher is indifferent to us at best, which means he has no reason to point us in a “bad” or “wrong” direction. There may not be a “good” direction no matter what, and I believe the bell will find us if we don’t find it —because it seems important enough that Harlan won’t leave it a mystery. If we head the direction RC pointed, we might find more DW lore, and if we go our own direction, we might find more DW lore. We’re just stumbling blind toward where we *hope* the bell is versus having a (perceived) goal of following a path— even if that path is unfruitful. Plus, Arthur is naturally curious, even through his apprehension. Which isn’t always safe, but it’s always interesting. He is/patrons are always more prone to wanting to make a friend/trust something or someone when John prefers they do things alone. It seems in character for Arthur to try to see what the RC might be pointing to.

I like the idea of a side quest by following the rat catcher's directions, but he doesn't hear a bell and I don't think the DW is the place to be putting our trust in that. It seems only Arthur (and John) can hear the bell and it's probably better for them to follow that sound, even if it doesn't take them in a straight line.

I'd follow the Rat Catcher's advice. This poll is giving me the vibes of - 'confront the bell (trap....?) head-on' or - 'possibly gain an advantage by approaching it from a different angle'

Send not to know For whom the bell tolls

They reacted at the same time so I think they did hear the same thing it may just sound different to each of them for “reasons”
