I think the biggest thing is to understand that they're not approaching with a lie. They are coming forward with the intent to be honest, and that scar could be the ace up their sleeve. Not to mention, we don't know how cunning this dollmaker is. They could see the scar from the start and hide just how much it interests them to gain an advantage. So if the doll maker refuses, or demands too high a price, THEN the scar is revealed in a counter offer. Its not lying to barter

Showing the scar right away may get the doll maker’s attention, this is a very good point that I agree with. But I worry that if Arthur shows his hand too early, the doll maker may actually be more suspicious of him than anything. Imagine being so powerful that even in death your name is one that is only brought up as a warning or an idea of torture in some form. Would you be trusting of some man and a voice who come flaunting your way, expecting you to be righteous and give them a good deal on the spot without them even knowing whats behind the scar? They carry something that interests you, but it could be a trick that spells your down fall, everything you have worked towards. The doll maker has to have lived for an innumerable amount of time. Whether or not that has made them more apt for good deals or apt to suspicion is yet to be seen. Plus, once the doll-maker sees the scar, who’s to say they won’t try to kill him for the arm on the spot as well? This is not the living world as others have pointed out, This is kill or be gone forever super-death-hole, and I don’t want to gamble here more than we need too as much as I really crave a scene that could give us more information and a easier out of the current predicament. And besides… I think we have other information that could be quite pertinent to getting the doll maker on our side. Letting them know that everything is going to explode out of existence soon may hopefully convince them. But I think that’s high hopes on my part lol. And on an another note, if the doll maker does indeed recognize the scar as Lilith, theres a 50/50 chance they wants the arm because “Damn, thats cool” and the other 50 is “Is this man going to try to get close to me so Lilith kill me?” And on ANOTHER other note, if they can hear John, will they have heard of him from his past time in the dark-world? We know story’s of the doll-maker. Does the doll maker know the story of The King In Yellow, Carver Of The Bone Cathedral?(or, mr murdered his friend thousands of times?)
