There is nothing for us back at the office. Either we've been found out in which case we can't go back or the person from the shop could be waiting for us. At the abandoned house we might find some answers, perhaps an eldritch clue to what's going on

He can’t have that much of a head start. We can probably beat him back to the office since we know the way. Of course be cautious when we get there as there is likely an ambush waiting.
