I don't wanna make this lil person nervous or scare them off by asking too much about them, that's how I feel anyway, so I'm going for asking about the creature (despite being super curious about this person)

Eldritch Moth Thing

Ask about the creature; that seems like the safer option and also could provide an in to ask about the person later. If the goal is to help the cultists, then knowing how to free them would be useful, and this could be a safe, less personal segue (establish that as the goal by asking about the creature, then maybe we can ask about the person later without it coming off as prying). They're pretty agitated right now, pressing the issue could be a misstep.

Definitely ask about the creature. They are already on the topic anyway and clearly made an effort to escape it. Also building trust by Arthur and John showing they genuinely want to help get those people off of the Eldritch Grape Vine.

Lore-whore though I am, it's best to just ask about the creature rn. Can't pry into the guy further if he gets violent, I think.

I think Arthur was smart to emphasize that he and the new friend are in a similar predicament. Right now their common enemy is the creature, so it makes sense to stay focused on that.
