I've already said in the discord but it'd make more sense to avoid making enemies this early into a new world & time, plus the thing being friendly would lower the tension of the past 2 eps and let the boys breathe, calm down, gather their bearings, maybe pet it if it's a cat, have a laugh over getting spooked by something so small.

Aggressive is definitely NOT the move rn. John is still coming down from a power trip using his yellow powers and this thing can obviously see in the dark. Not to mention taking an aggressive approach on random scary things *cough cough the lady under the light house* has not always worked in our favor

With all the use they make of that lighter (sounds like a Zippo), I sure hope they brought extra lighter fluid and some flints. Those were in extremely short supply 700 years ago. ;)
