I know that this is comic is a while ago, but I can't help but think that the "Yeah" guy/girl draws inspiration for his/her commentary from Trading Places...

Trading Places is a movie starring Dan Ackroyd and Eddie Murphy. Ackroyd is Louis Winthrope, a wealthy investor. Murphy is Billy Ray Valentine, a homeless con artist. After Winthorpe’s bosses, the Dukes, meet Valentine, they get in a “Nature vs. Nurture” argument, and agree to use Winthorpe and Valentine as test subjects for scientific research. They make a bet, with the rules being that Valentine, given Winthorpe’s position, becomes a law-abiding positive contribution to society and Winthorpe, given Valentine’s circumstances, turns to crime. Why “Yeah” reminds me of that is that Valentine frequently has interactions with a pair of thuggish guys, one of which responds to everything with “Yeah!”
