Hello you delicious deviants,In the latest Stats update I mentioned how the Maiden Rarity will be more universal, and you will upgrade them from Common > Rare > Epic (but I may change the naming convention to something for fun)You can read about that HEREThe part I did not ask about is how you would obtain or upgrade to the next rarity.For now, I don't want to do individual maiden conditions due to scope, but what i have currently been thinking of as options are as follows:One thing to consider is this game will have a summoning gacha aspect. (I want to be clear this wont have any microtransactions) But there will be the concept of collecting resources and trying to summon new Maidens.With that in mind:

Option 1 - Standard Gacha Mechanic - You need to summon X Amount of the copies of the Maiden to upgrade t the next stage

Option 2 - Once you summon the character - you have them, that's it, and then you need to craft or discover an in game item to help them upgrade

Option 3 - Combat Feats - so this would be like, "X amount of enemies need to be slain", "Slay X amount of enemies with X ability", "Slay enemies with the X Elemental Affinity"

The above are the 3 options i have thought about, but I did want to get your thoughts, and feel free to suggest alternatives below or DM me.

Interesting, I really like option 2 and 3. Once you have the toon you have it, then you can battle to level it up. But also does this mean you’d have like for example let’s say you have “Bluebell” but you have like a common, rare, unique, and legendary version of “Bluebell”

I agree that a combo of 2 and 3 might be something to consider. Or if the combat takes too long, if you want more involvement between the maidens and MC, it could be a "amount of love" type enhancement. I don't remember off the top of my head if there's a relaitonship feature or not, but if you have that, depending on how far along the player is or how much time they've spent with the Maidens could play a part with upgrading.

option 2 and 3 combine will be great makes progression not too fast so you won't be overpowered too soon.

So Think of it like, you have your character who can level up via standard experience, but a level 50 common will have weaker stats than the level 50 rare version. And the item you may discover to go from Common to Rare will be unique, and then Rare to Epic will be a separate unique item you would discover in later areas. I hope that helps

You choose a starter and play through it, collecting gatchas tickets. At the end of your play through you can unlock the gachas, which gives you stronger or weak pokemon. And then you play again. I love Gachas. So I immediately started thinking, using panties as a gotcha, or even cosmetics, but that can be intensive. I think option 2 is good, and having a mix of option 3

Tbh I like option 3 a lot bc it's usage based ... Also f.e. you could up the difficulty by needing to slay harder enemies to get from epic to legendary ... Maybe you need to slay enemies with resistance to their main element while you can use your elemental advantage from common to rare ...

If you want to create a gatcha mechanic the second option is a bit weird, what happen if summon the character a second time? You can't? So everytime you roll the dices you get a new one? I like what they did with the gatcha mechaninc in age of empire mobile, you need 10 coins to unlock the character, you can get 1 to 10 in the extraction and use the other for the upgrade, but i like the third option as well, so if it was for me i would make the gatcha with the tokens, add the quest for the upgrade and give them a price in tokens to skip them so not to feel keked by the gatcha or the task (maybe the price che reduce as the quest progress)
