Hello you wonderful deviants,I wanted to slightly revise the Lady Death design, and I think I have figured out how I may involve her in the game.Appearance:

I wanted to give her face a little more character, I felt like the left and older one is a bit plain, and not really menacing. How will you be able to interact? - the current ideaSo, as their name is "Lady Death", I wanted their character to be related to "fainting", but I don't want them to appear every time you "faint", as I want you to be able to get straight back into it the game.My idea is that there is an internal counter, counting and keeping a record of the amount of times you have fainted, and once you reach certain faint milestones, along with a level, you are teleported to her domain. For example - 20 faints, and level 20 you are first teleported, and the next one would be something like 40 faints, level 40, but if you had 40 faints, but were level 30, you would not get teleported again until level 40.This would then be a chance to "interact" with them, and maybe get some reward, I was thinking like a unique line artefacts or maybe even weapons. What do you think of this, and do you have any suggestions/feedback or ideas on the rewards.EDIT:There have already been very valid questions about "What if I don't faint?"This is why I love asking the community, because i hadn't even considered that, I will definitely need to explore that, maybe something like reaching certain levels or parts of the story or map without fainting would trigger her still but with a slightly different dialogue of "why are you trying to avoid me?"So that way you are not missing out, maybe the items or interactions could even be different Depending on how you meet her via "fainting" vs "not fainting"

Would there be a limit of how many times you could see her before reaching a certain level? For example if someone fainted like 80 times but are level 10, would they only see her once after the 20th faint until they are level 20?

Gillyweed

For people who might end up playing this game with a higher level of natural skill (not me) or speedrunning practice (also not me), would there be another alternative method to 'meeting death'? Certain points in the storyline or milestones? Secret areas or interactions? Or will meeting Death have to be through 'fainting' and dying?

Dr. Thanos

Will fainting be a common thing we should be expecting? I mean, I'm sure it will be inevitable, but I think 40 faints is quite high. Will there also be a bonus for not fainting a playthrough? (I will not be a part of the "no faint" group, sadly)

So right now these are just random numbers for sake of explanation, and great question regarding the avoiding fainting, and yes I will absolutely need to look into that :)

nsfwpixels

Thats an incredibly valid point and question, and I will definitely need to explore that, maybe something like reaching certain levels without fainting would trigger her still but with a slightly different dialogue of "why are you trying to avoid me?"

nsfwpixels

Great question, yes, I will likely be implementing a cap on times you can visit her, not sure to what extent though, but relaly appreciate the question it gives me something to think about :)

Verhalus

Could have some cult that's obsessed with her and that could be an alternative to meeting her

nsfwpixels

I really appreciate the suggestion Verhalus!

Gillyweed

That could be fun and interesting! How you get there will be fun to see, but it'll be nice to see content not dependant on dying be available to all skill levels.

SirSnugglebutt

What about a third option to her offer, like a double edge sword type of deal. Like you can get intimate with her and in return you'll get a temporary debuff to health but you'll be allowed to survive a fatal hit?

nsfwpixels

It's a super valid concern you raised, so I really appreciate it!

SauringLunala

You could do where people who dont die meet death every once and a while with her getting ever so slightly angrier, because the player isnt dying could make for a secret boss battle at the end of the game if you die few times during your gametime

nsfwpixels

I really appreciate the suggestion, super interesting idea! Thank you :)

nsfwpixels

This is a really really interesting thought! Love this idea Robin!! :)

SauringLunala

Thats great to hear. It would be an extra challenge for the pro players

Leon

I definitely like the idea of if you don't faint, she shows up from time to time 'chasing' you. Depending on what you do in the game, she'll get increasingly more angry, OR she'll be more of a 'pick me' girl. (I.E. Why are you ignoring me!? Why won't you FUCK me! Etc.) You can go many ways for a character like this, her being a pseudo-hidden character leaves a lot mystery, and replay value that many H-games don't have!

nsfwpixels

I really appreciate all the feedback Leon, it means a lot! :)

Tommy M

Since she is death, and anyone that touches death, dies... when fainting, you could incorporate an Easter egg where the MC touches her, or her giving the MC the 'little death' counts as dying.

nsfwpixels

I really appreciate the suggestions Tommy, thank you so much!
