Pc Issues (Patreon)

Hello everyone

Hope you’re all having a great start to your week. I’m here with some not so good news.

My pc issues have continued to get worse. I’m now having to send it off for repair. Supposed to be picked up today but may be with them for weeks, I’m not sure at this point. I will try to use another laptop/pc so that I can continue to get some work done but I need to warn you that it’s not a quick setup process and will no doubt have a knock on effect with my uploads. I’m truly gutted and wish there was a quick fix available. There’s also no guarantee that issues won’t arise once I get the machine back as support has found multiple software issues as well as my cpu being faulty. I have stressed to them that I need this sorting for work so I’m hopeful they’ll return it quickly but we shall see.

My mood is zapped from this. I’ve spent so much money to resolve tech issues to have more tech issues. Just my luck.

I can only apologise for any inconvenience this may cause with my schedule. All I ask is to remember that I’m just a singular person trying to create content for you all, I’m not a big business with people and money around to help fix things quickly. Just gotta do my best with what I have and hopefully it won’t effect workload too drastically

Much love to all of you and I hope you understand. I’m not stopping content, there just might be delays. Okay, I’m off to try and sort a temporary setup and tackle the wire management that’s been destroyed taking everything out to send off. BRB

Ouch, sorry to hear that. I am building my own rig here starting tonight, so I am curious what you are running that had these issues. My first thought looking at your case was "hey that's the case I decided not to get due to poor air intake issues". I liked it due to the front panel ports, but not that (plus I wanted to be able to have an internal Blu-ray burner).

No worries and I can sympathise as I'm having IT issues at work too and even though we do have internal support, it's really frustrating and causing delays, so I totally understand. As others have said, it gives me time to catch up on your other videos. Good luck.

I know it can be frustrating or even stress-inducing when you have tech problems that impact your work, but an unexpected break NOT due to health issue should be a blessing. Go smell some flowers with your son and feel the sun of your face. (I do hope the weather is nice in your neck of the woods!) Sending light and positive vibes you way.

It’s my cpu it’s an i9, shouldn’t be having issues. I think I just got really unlucky tbh. I wish I did research on the case, it’s a new case too. Hope your build goes well

Thanks so much. Weather not great today but it was nice to having extra time with Grayson. Managed to take him to the dentist and pharmacy and back to school. It’s not much but mum things ☺️💜

Bless you guys. I would never expect or ask for that though. I will sort it, just hopefully sooner than later. They’re saying collection is on Thursday now, I’ve been messed about a lot tbh. I’ve fixed up a temporary setup, just a few extras I have to sort with software but hopefully I can start filming at least. Just scared it’ll crash and then it messes up the reaction. We shall see though.

My build is just about done now, just have to do a bit of cable management and transfer over some old HDDs from the old system, and finish installing all the apps again/customizing the OS. I went with the i9-14900k... I know a big thing with these is cooling, so I went as far as I could to keep it cool - other than a custom loop water-cooled system. I have yet to fully stress test it, but, fingers crossed, with the loads I have put it through so far (doing app/game installs mostly) I haven't seen it go over 60° C. I also expect (based on everything I have been reading/watching about these, I will need to go in and undervolt/set power limits, as by default motherboard manufacturers allow it to hit voltages higher than the CPU is rated to run at, which may result in your machine cooking itself to death over time. My AIO water cooler should be able to handle the heat, but probably better safe than sorry. I know the "silicon lottery" is a thing though sounds like you may just have gotten a bit unlucky. To be honest though, even then most of the time often the CPU isn't bad per-se, it just may need down-clocked or voltages tweaked to run stable. I am curious as to what issues you were seeing to know what to avoid... 😂

Okay, so we have folks that want to help Dak and maybe more will join if they happen upon these posts. If you're unable to that's completely understandable, so don't feel pressured whatsoever. I think the easiest way to do it is through Ko-fi. I'll need to wait until next week, but I think I might up it to £150-200 because Dak is Dak. But again, don't feel pressured. £5 helps as well. Let's show what this wonderful community can do to show support.

no need to apologize, it's not like you jacked up your pc lol. i feel like i should use this as an opportunity to catch up on all the teen wolf and grimm uploads i've missed but i'm more likely to rewatch your lucifer episodes lol. my point is, don't worry about us, we're not going anywhere, we're not about to jump ship if you miss a few uploads here and there because of this (p.s. i know, i just kind of disappeared, i'm sorry! i tend to fall off of shows after a while even if i love them but especially when the story is going places i don't enjoy rewatching i.e the absolutely BS with juliette and weirdness with adalind, and just straight up dwindling cast of TW from S4 on. S3 was just so peak that the later seasons are kinda hard to watch for me)

Just a quick update on the Help Dak Fund. I was going to buy a new computer/gaming chair, but I received a very nice one for my birthday about two weeks ago. I'll be sending the money I was going to spend on that to Dak. Nobody should feel any pressure at all, but I know a few of us showed interest in doing so. Ko-fi is probably the best way, at least in my opinion. It's Dak.
