Hello All!

Zoe is a rose between two thorns in this episode. Wash gets jealous and Mal stays stubborn and the crew save the day! I hope Wash realises now that Zoe has a big enough heart to love them both and in different ways. Kaylee is worrying me with how she reacted to River shooting 3 soldiers with her eyes shut and Shepard was way too skilled to not have been in battles like that before. We're nearing the end & I don't wanna get there!

Hope you enjoy the reaction folks. Have a lovely week everyone! Thank you for the constant love & support!

Much love

Dakara x

Now I have two episodes to catch up on over the weekend 🥳 with snacks ofc 🍿 hope you're feeling a bit better dak but incase you're not I sent lots of get better hugs up north by carrier pigeon 🫂🙂

Michele

Too close to the end! It really is unfair. I'm still very salty about it. They didn't even let them finish out the season. So they weren't able to set up a nice progression to the season finale. Cutting the season short was just rude!

Stretch

The chinese allows the characters to swear on the show without changing the rating. So they wouldn't put the translation in for the same reason i guess.

Neil Writes Things

"What are you doing?" He's trying to keep Wash conscious and talking, because at least that means he's alive.

Dave Ford

I think a lot of the stuff about 'sexual tension' was Mall deliberately winding up Wash to keep him engaged (angry) so he wouldn't fall unconscious. There's no sexual tension between M and Zoe, and I think Wash knows that - that's not problem and he knows it.

Neumann

the whole "take me sir, take me hard" scene is a top tier scene, so fricken funny

Eric Hunter

Wash in War Stories has elements of Riley in Buffy S5. He isn't jealous of Mal in a conventional sense, but he is bothered by the deep connection Zoë shares with Mal, and particularly by the fact that when he suggests something about a job, Zoë doesn't show him the respect of discussing it with him, and explaining why it seems like a bad idea.

Brian Dworak

How can you not like a mix of child-like playfulness, comedy, fear, torture, and more than one nod to Star Wars? Great episode and my favorite part was River taking out the three guys without looking. She glanced at them and remembered their positions and said what she said, which makes me think. Second favorite part also involved both of them when Kaylee was chasing River because she had taken her apple. I also cut my apples. I have to applaud the stuntmen, particularly burning man (don't even think about it) and knocked-in-face guy. The whole fight really did remind me of the one on the Death Star and was quite exciting. Thanks Dak, this was a fun one.

EPIC00

Remember what the inciting incident was Wash’s idea of cutting out the middleman. As they apparently discussed, Zoe was to bring it up with Mal, but she never really pushed for it. That’s because she secretly agreed with Mal that it was a bad idea. The issue was that she never told Wash her real opinion on it. Because of this I believe Wash came to the conclusion that Zoe sided with Mal over him not because she truly thought it was a bad idea; because if she did. She would have mentioned it to him first, so he assumed her actions were explained by her (Bromance?) relationship with the Captain. To me it seemed a rational, but poorly reasoned argument couples sometimes have. Anyway, great reaction as always. I’m looking forward to the next one.

Jack

Also couples have long-running spats like this which would always seem to be a bit weird if you suddenly dropped into the middle of them. Like “WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU DID THE LAUNDRY, I TOLD YOU I WAS GOING TO DO IT ON FRIDAY!!!” - dropping into the middle of that you would feel like it’s an absolutely crazy reaction but actually there’s a whole history of conversations, resentment, insecurity, backstory, and whatever else. It’s probable that Wash and Zoe have discussed this before, or other dimensions of it before, and this is just the latest instalment.

Jack

Great reaction as always. It gets to me though that I’ve never seen a reactor (any reactor) laugh at one of my favourite jokes in the series! When the councillor is leaving and Jayne is doing his second extremely well-acted portrayal of “drooling creep”, says “I’ll be in my bunk” a second time, only to have Zoe interject with “Jayne, grab your weapon.” It’s so good and nobody ever laughs! Ah well.

Merkavar

did she forget about the train job episode? she seemed to not realise who the guy was. Also Mal was trying to anger walsh so that he would stay alive/conscious

Michael Abberton

They have a similar mini-argument in either the pilot or the Train Job where Wash askes about getting some time off or something and Zoe replies that she will ask Mal. Wash responds something like "remember to call him Sir, he likes that"

EPIC00

Nice catch, with the call back. I had forgot all about that.

Robert

I loved how everyone just stood open-mouthed when they saw that the councilor was a woman. Jayne especially; he nearly tripped over himself to get to his quarters. Rivers involvement in the fight was a little surprising. I think that the "black ops" people were trying to make her , for lack of a better way of saying it, a super computer with intuition. In the fight she told herself to not look. I think that, in her head, she plotted the positions of the men that were trying to kill them, and let her body take over. Definitely something to give them pause,

Brian Dworak

I love it when I see proper usage of a semicolon.

Ian

This shows so good 🔥 enough said 👍

Brian Harrington

Mal technically died in this episode, thus activating a new Captain. Can’t wait to see how two Captains get on. Maybe the new Captain coming means Mal can finally be a normal girl??

Jack

Did you forget that the character’s name is “Wash”, not “Walsh”?

Jack

Excellent semicolon use; tragically undermined by the double space after a period…

Robert

Thank you to those that appreciate my use of the semicolon, it follows the, then, established rules of grammar. Unfortunately, the same holds true with my double-space after the period. When I learned typing, there was only the one format, and that required the use of a double-space after a period to indicate a full stop. I know that, with the use of multiple fonts, the double-space is no longer needed, but I can't seem to stop myself from doing it. My apologies.

DakaraJayne

I remembered the ep, didn't remember his name though

Trivia: the desert they filmed at here is the same as Buffy 4x22 (Restless).

Lazerx1

"No Power in the Verse can Stop Me", which River said after she shot the men, is what Kaylee had said in the beginning of the episode after she wrestled the apple away from River.
