Hello All!

Here we go! Diving into another show and hoping it's a Belter...sorry...This episode felt a lot more intense than the pilot. The gang trapped on a broken ship losing oxygen and in a dangerous place as well as knowing their friends and loved ones have been killed! The hunt for Jue continues and the war is brewing between the factions!

Much love

Dakara x

Nice reaction. Thanks.

Valcor

Glad you are enjoying it already! Also yes plenty of world building still to go. So don't be concerned about not understanding everything.

Isak Haugerud

I'm glad you're already enjoying it! The Expanse actually first started as a tabletop RPG, but then the creators decided to write it as 9 novels instead. In this episode we see one of the few physics mistakes in the show. When Holden let go of the wrench, it just flew away instantly as if they were in an atmosphere. Ty Franck (co-author and producer) said on his podcast that they put that wrench in every season as an easteregg and reminder of their mistake 😂

Shellbot

So happy to see this! One of my all time favs and I think you will love it 😍

Polly

I really enjoyed your reaction to this. Interesting comparison between Firefly crew members and these ones, and a good discussion of Shed. So glad that you will be continuing to watch.

Neumann

i could listen to shohreh aghdashloo (the UN lady) say the most diabolical crap for hours and i wouldn't care as long as she kept talking. i love her voice and her accent so much! lol

Robert

Already back into it, I'm loving every second. You would think that with all the high tech you're seeing that water wouldn't be a problem; unfortunately it doesn't work like that. Think life on a submarine and you'll get the idea. Water needs to be produced through a sort of greenhouse effect. If you saw "The Martian" it explains the process well. The green that they have, plus water recycling wouldn't be enough. They would depend on the ice shipments for the bulk of their water. Naomi is taking the lead because someone has to, and they're all following her because she has a plan. Yes The Expanse is based on a book, and as I understand it, is pretty faithful to it. BTW, not bragging, but king of the claw machine. Always get a prize on the first or second try.

PaulC

Nice to see you're getting into the show a bit more! I think you'll get drawn in with the unfolding mysteries of what happened to Julie and the Canterbury and seeing how the different threads of the story tie in with each other. Will be interested to see what you make of Amos as a character.

AC10

😱 I'm glad someone else said it... I didn't want to. Compared to any space show ever this one is SOOOO more true to science I don't like to think about the little things like this. That said I Cringe every time I see it.

AC10

Oh My God... I forgot the intro to each episode didn't start the same from the very beginning. Well... Well well well.... Now that you mentioned it... Once the into really kicks up... You'll know it when it does.... It's One of If Not THE best intros of any show I've ever seen for a 4k display watching a high bitrate version of the episode. Like melt your brain visual quality which I compare only to Game of Thrones. I'm mesmerized by the into to both shows on my big screen.

AC10

I'm so excited 😬

AC10

Dependence on water is one of the very many things of this show related to real life I'm so excited for her to see. Related to today's IRL moon missions.... Multiple countries are focused on the south pole of the moon for a base because they have proven water ice is there.

AC10

Omg yes. Her voice is a type of meditation.

AC10

All will be revealed in time... All according to the plan. I just hope she doesn't get spoiled. It's truely an incredible story when experienced in real time.

Mycatisajoker

Yes, the Expanse is awesome. I do miss the extended intro music though.

PongPong31

I've gotta say, it feels almost surreal to have you reacting to the Expanse. My fav reactor, to one of the best shows of all time? Come on now! I loved your little take on every one of the five survivors during your discussion at the end. It's probably too early to ask for a favourite character/s, but maybe down the road, as we really get into the Season? Can't wait for you to get to know them more. And, you do indeed get a cheeky thumbs up from me. Both hands.

PongPong31

Lol hey at least the coriolis effect gave us that cool shot of Miller pouring his drink.

AC10

YES!!!

AC10

Me too. I don't think she cut it out I think maybe it didn't start till later episodes. I haven't verified this yet.

AC10

😬 Frickin Nuts ain't it!!! Omg I wanna live in a world similar to this so bad!!! But maybe if IRL if the people who know let the rest of us know the truth about aliens and UFOs our IRL future would be 100 times even more incredible than this fictional future world.

Isak Haugerud

Well I don't know about aliens and UFOs, but SpaceX and Blue Origin are currently pushing us in the direction of a future like The Expanse. We're unlikely to live long enough to see it come to full fruition, but if you're willing to put your life at great risk and leave everything behind, you could possibly become one of the first martian colonists 🚀

PongPong31

You hear that AC10? Get working to be on Starship's first flight to Mars.

AC10

@Isak yes... 100% I agree. That's why I'm so excited on both fronts. 1 front... We are pushing to this future activity right now IRL. Which is incredibly exciting. I wasn't alive during the Apollo era. But I feel like we are living that world now in our generation like the previous generation did during Apollo. It sucks we (we as the human race as a whole) seemed to have taken a break and are now starting over again extending that era. I'm so excited for it. But then I'm also excited for the other possibly of UFO/UAP existing IRL and a small part of the human race is secretly learning and building on that technology. It's so well documented it's very possible. IMAGINE for a second if that IS TRUE.... Then the Expanse universe we are so excited to see watching this show is already So Outdated Technology in comparison.... Both possibilities excite me beyond anything currently on earth we are working towards. Either possibility will completely revolutionize human life on earth. As in energy dependence, food dependence, health healing ability etc etc... Anyway I look at it the future is incredible to say the least.

AC10

@pong Oh I hear you... I don't have enough space here to describe how much RENUED excitement for space exploration SpaceX has giving me. I was raised as an engineer in a few degrees of the definition. I would give Anything to go work for SpaceX. I'm not biased. I LOVE all space exploration efforts. I feel like now in my lifetime SpaceX is leading the field. If I was 15 years younger and a few health issues less I would literally sell everything I have and go work for them. Unfortunately I don't feel like my health today can keep up to their pace of work. Would I wanna be the first to Mars.... Tough question. If you asked my 18 year old self YES!!! 100% I Tried for years to inlist in the military and I didn't pass the health test. But I was willing. Now?? I would rather be on the engineering team working 24/7 to make it possible for the young bucks with way more energy than me to be on that flight.

Mycatisajoker

I can't remember if it was something that Amazon did when they started doing the later seasons. I think they just stopped using the whole intro.

AC10

Oh God I hope not.

AC10

Ok I've just watched The Foundation again after a break and I forgot... So The Foundation, Game of Thrones, Westworld, and The Expanse are all my favorite melt your brain intro sequences in a 4k high bitrate viewing.

PongPong31

I think Dakara must've skipped the intro during her pilot reaction. Because it very much plays out right at the start of the episode. I just double checked on Amazon Prime. But most of the episodes of Season 1, don't have the entire intro for some reason. Only 1x1, 1x9 and 1x10 do. Strange.

Isak Haugerud

Checked rips from the original 2016 airing on SyFy, and it was the same there. The full intro is only used for episodes 1 and 9/10, so Amazon didn't change it.

PongPong31

Ahh. Alright man. It's just going to take a little longer for her to get humming along, but that's alright, it will happen eventually.

PongPong31

It's going to be incredible. Can you imagine those first steps, on another PLANET?!

Polly

She'll hum along a lot more tunefully than a couple of other reactors I've seen, who are funny but painful.

Joseph Frank

Amazing I’m back for more your reactions
