Hello All!

OBSESSED. This episode was so good. I adored the alt Broyles angle of this one and how that impacted his decisions and view on our Olivia. That ending was CRAZY! Peter, I hope you'll be okay!!

Much love

Dakara x

i love that deductive scene with lincoln and that look he gives her. that look says that while he may not know she's the other olivia, he knows she's different and that she's very smart and a very good person and he's impressed. in a similar vane, broyles being moved by olivia's drive and heart and actually KNOWING the truth (and the realization that she also knows and still did all this good) is just so beautiful. this kind of shit is my bread and butter lol episode MVPs: henry and cleaning lady. thank god they weren't too freaked out to actually help because THAT ENDING REACTION

I really like how Fringe used the same actors to repeat the guest roles played previously - Peter's mother (in both universes), Alt-Broyles wife and Broyles ex-wife... And when the actress playing Nancy Lewis (firestarter) was not available for the end of season one, they (Broyles and Nina) said that they had managed to identify some others, and "these 3 are in control of their abilities": Nick Lane, James Heath, and a new firestarter Sally Clark...

That ending!!! Such a good cliffhanger and now Peter is left with the biggest hot potato of all time, how will he play it!? I can’t imagine how the people that watched this show live felt but that week from ep 7 to 8 must have felt like an eternity XD. Such a great episode and underrated because it often gets overshadowed by ep 8 which to be fair is a good contender not only for best episode of the season but also amongst the best of the whole show so i get it, but this has a lot of great stuff, the case of the week much like the one from episode 5 is partly a callback to a previous case from season 1, specifically ep 2 with the woman giving birth to the rapidly aging baby (super gross), in that episode they also bring up the pituitary gland as a mean to stop/reverse aging. This episode is also the first case in the other universe with Olivia as fully herself and the difference is staggering, the way she approaches the case are way different and because of that she ends up figuring it out. Loved all the stuff with Broyles, we get to see him on this side with the family that he could have end on our side if things with his wife had worked out and it’s just great because it adds layers to both this version of him and ours because we get to see tangibly what he gave up by focusing on his work. And just like our Broyls he ends up admiring and respecting Olivia too and lets her escape, all of he scenes with Christopher were heartbreakingly beautiful. We also got to see a much vulnerable side of Walternate that it was only hinted at before, i loved that he made a rule that all children kidnapping had to be investigated by Fringe division, it just shows you that at his core he shares a lot with our Walter, we’ll see if we get to see more as the season progresses. In regards to your post ep discussion it definitely feels like at least at this point Lincoln is the “Peter” of this universe both in terms how he operates because he has a science background and also in the way he interacts with Olivia/Fauxlivia, there will be time to talk about him more as the season progresses though. Big big episode coming up, can’t wait for tomorrow, Fringe 3x08 reaction and new Severance episode, it’s going to be a very good day!

TWO WEEKS Dakara. Two weeks. We waited two weeks between this episode and the next one. It's funny but when you're obsessed with a show like this and you have to wait between episodes your mind starts going through different scenarios. Playing out scenes. My recollection of this time period on the different message boards was that Peter was taking a beating for not figuring out it was our Olivia that was gone. He should've figured out this clue or that one. I always had sympathy for Peter, he was as much a victim in this as anyone. Also the feeling was it was taking too long for this storyline to end, but looking back I love this storyline and the time it took, the back and forth between universes. The way we get to know the different characters in both universes. Anyway, the wait was 14 days of hell, no kidding.

This is one of my favourite episodes of season 3. I've probably watched this series from start to finish about 4 times now, and this episode never fails to make me emotional. I love how close Alt-Broyles is with his family, and the actor who plays Christopher is amazing. I love that Henry is back in this episode and he trusts Olivia so much to help her again. He waited ages on that boat for her. And that cliffhanger is fantastic. So excited for the next episode. It's even better than this one, and one of the best in the series! There were quite a few differences between universes highlighted in this episode. Here's a list of the less obvious ones: - There's a New Yonkers in New York. - Red Vines are a new type of sweet. Here, Red Vines have been around since 1952. - A news reporter on the radio in Henry's taxi can be heard saying "Leading politicians from two of the three major parties" suggesting that American politics in the Redverse has three major parties as opposed to just two in the Blueverse. The news report was discussing the proposed law to limit the number of children to two per family, which most Americans oppose. So two of the political parties favour population control. - The movie Casablanca may not exist in the Redverse because Fauxlivia was completely unfamiliar with it. - They have a 'Quarantine Zone' board game ("Can you escape before it's too late?").

This is one of my favorite episodes. Not only do you see not only the humanity of Alt-Broyles, you see his humility, and his compassion. He’s not too different from our Broyles. But you also get a brief glimpse of the humanity and compassion of Walternate. Despite his hardness, he has a soft side. I think the theme of this episode is that we’re all a mixed bag. And our Olivia is an amazing human being, in every universe she happens to inhabit. (also, props to Henry. Guy waited for like three hours, and learned a new skill for her)

DB

Fun fact: that "Ronald Reagan was supposed to be in Casablanca" rumour has been around for a very long time but (at least in our universe) it was never the case. I'm pretty sure Snopes has a page on it. Looks like it was more than an old Hollywood legend in redverse (and no wonder it's less popular there - Reagan imo was never a particularly good actor).

Olivia's plan here was kind of half-baked. She doesn't really need THAT sensory deprivation tank, she needs A sensory deprivation tank. She could have looked up medical facilities that offer that as a service.

Thadman

I thought about this, but there's no other place where she could use a tank where she could be certain that it would be a safe place to appear and not end up inside a wall or something. Maybe spliced with another person, like that dude that was the sole survivor of the building transfer.
