Hello All!

Belly has well and truly set up camp in Olivia's body, drugged her with Tea (being British, this offends me...I kid) and then said that he doesn't know how long it will last and he may have misread some of the effects. I'm sorry William but ya gotta correct this ASAP! Great introduction to this worlds Lincoln too, he's just as lovely tbf. I wonder if both Lincoln's will meet at some point?

Much love

Dakara x

I was so ecstatic when we saw that we will have our own Lincoln . It was great lol

i'm VERY surprised it took you so long to get that she didn't want to live after her family was killed. you must be tired, or coming down with something lol i'm so annoyed that olivia didn't get to meet our lincoln. i think she would've gotten a kick out of how different he is from the other lincoln, and i also think she actually, surprisingly would've been glad to see him. one of those "i didn't even know i missed you until i saw you again" things; nothing crazy, i just think olivia probably grew some kind of fondness for him but without the baggage of alt charlie or alt broyles unless the guy put some kind of flammable material in there, that bomb shouldn't've had a fire ball since plastic explosives are concussive (if that's even the right word) and not flame producing lol. for an excellent example, check out the mythbusters blowing up a cement truck. god i miss that show walter didn't call nina about william because he's a jealous bitch who wants belly all to himself lmao

I've been holding off on mentioning something, and now that Walter seems to be caller her "Astrid" consistently at the moment, I think it's a good time, due to the discomfort Astrid showed in this ep. Jasika Nicole has said that working on this show was a rough experience for her. She has said she doesn't blame the cast, but rather the production staff made it difficult. I'm taking what's in the next two paragraphs from screenshots I took of her Twitter when I was made aware of it by another fan many years ago. I still love this show, but I don't think loving something means never criticizing it, so I hope you'll take this in the spirit of merely providing a more rounded picture. Sorry this is so long, but I want to represent what JN said accurately and then some thoughts on the ep. When the production was in New York City in season 1 she had to take a 90-minute subway ride and then a ten minute walk to get to the studio while the other cast named in the opening credits were picked up in a production transport van and driven to set. She said she was told by a producer that this wasn't the case, that the others weren't picked up and driven in, but that she would be walking in to the studio seeing them getting out of the transpo van for the set call time. She said that the producer responsible was eventually fired, but that it set something of a tone. While she appreciated the joke about Walter failing to get Astrid's name right at the beginning, as it was a sign of Walter being fairly unmoored from reality, it eventually became painful for her once it became Walter simply teasing her once he was closer to sane. This was because there were reportedly many directors who refused to say her name/get it right - Jasika (Jah-SEE-kuh) - on set, and would call her "hey you," "that one" or simply point at her. She said that Josh tried to help, using his greater power/clout in the cast for good, by wearing a name tag with the phonetic spelling of her name on it knowing that the directors would pay him more attention, but that this deliberate disrespect continued for all five seasons. That's why she eventually found the mangling of "Astrid" hard to take after a while. She said she didn't blame John Noble, who was only saying the lines as written, but he apparently apologized sometime after the show had wrapped for his part in perpetuating it by participating in the on-screen joke. All of the above is more reason why I found the bit with Bell perving on Astrid (wanting to get Astrid to milk him, UGH) even less funny than I originally did, as it made me wonder if it was another poke at Ms. Nicole. Knowing the stuff above and that Jasika Nicole is gay, having Bell-in-Olivia creeping on Astrid - which to the male gaze may look like a woman trying to get with another woman - made me wish they'd left this out. I really hope it wasn't intended that way, but I still think having 70-something Bell perving on 20-something Astrid out loud and trying to caress her hands was unnecessary and wasn't really funny. I think, Dakara, that you're right that this ep felt a bit off. They gave us Peter/Olivia as a functioning relationship for only a single episode, then slammed the relationship to a stop again for plot purposes. Compare that to how, in season two, we got to enjoy the gradually improving father/son trust and support between Walter and Peter for most of the season before the cataclysm of Northwest Passage. I know they're doing it deliberately, and that the season's overarching plot wouldn't have allowed them to get to the place they were in 3x16 much earlier, but STILL. I know it's to ramp up the audience's frustration and give JJ that conflict to play - which he did well, with that flinch you noticed and the mere second of a hopeful smile when Olivia spoke to him at the end - but the stop/start/stop is, in my opinion, more annoying than just keeping them apart. (Sorry again for the TL;DR comment! I either have nothing relevant to say or too much!)

Olivia as Bell is soo funny this episode!! I died laughing at the jokes the first time around hahaha. Especially with Gene, it would have been hilarious if that actually happened. Poor Astrid though haha, Bell definitely had a crush lol

Katie

Of all the cock-blocking storylines there have ever been, Bellivia probably has to be the most unique 😅

WillAlwaysLoveClark

I think part of the reason for this episode was to be introduced to the universe's Lincoln Lee.

It's crazy that you thought that that was the cop from heroes because I thought that was him the first time I saw this as well! By the way, I freaking loved that show too ❤️
