Hello All!

An Astrid heavy episode-yes please! Loved this, even if it was super emotional. It's made me love Astrid even more if that's even possible?! Great episode though, with many scenes of comedy value and high emotion. Alt Olivia trying to warm back up to Walter was entertaining and his response in the end was heartwarming <3 These characters are brilliant!!!

Much love

This is one of my favourite episodes from the show primarily for the interactions between our team and their alternates and Walter. So well played and I loved every moment! It's just a shame that it's taken this long to get an Astrid-centric episode. Making Angels is also one of John Noble's episodes too. He explained that being in the lab with Jasika & Anna portraying both versions of their characters was a joy to behold.

I just LOVE this episode! And it was great re-watching it with you/through your eyes!!

Astrid is the only one to scream like that because she's the only normal person of the bunch 🤣

Hey Dak, I have to admit i had a little bit of Fringe withdrawal yesterday without your reaction 😂, but all is good with the double episode today!! This one is definitely an episode that i (involuntarily) underrated when i think about my favourite episode of the season simply because it’s right before ep 12 and the arc that starts (sort of) with that episode so i often overlook it but it’s very good because once again it uses this season’s greatest strength by being able to show us meetings and interactions that just a season ago seemed impossible. All of the conversations between Alt-astrid and the other characters are amazing (as is she) and just like you pointed out in the discussion they use one of my favourite tropes in this episode that being the outside character coming into an established group that is able to give advices to them thanks to their outsider perspective and it works so well in this one. The conflict with the Astrids fathers is a very interesting and complex one for sure because, like you mentioned, it’s not just the fact the two Astrid are very different from one another but there could have also been vastly different things happen in their Fathers lives that would have led them to become better/worse parents so it’s much more complicated the saying that Alt-Astrid’s father just couldn’t handle her and that’s why their relationship was that way, i’m glad that you pointed it out because it makes for a much more interesting and compelling conversation. The observers plot is for sure heating up now, a think all of the analysis that you made in the post ep discussion where valid and relevant but i do want to reassure you that with the information you have so far the current best explanation as to where Peter popped up is the same universe but different timeline, one that was created when September didn’t save Peter in 1985, again this is based on the current information and could change but i wanted to reassure you that you are on the right tracks. I don’t think you should get too stuck on the intro color because i think mostly that represents the fact that the two universes are now conjoined so the red and blue mix and they became that orange/amber color, but again my there’s more to that too… The monster of the week was also very interesting and i like that it helped us to better understand how the observers see time thanks to September’s lost device. As for September i really don’t want to say too much but you have definitely identified the fact that he is a central character in this season’s narrative. Oh boy i can’t wait to hear you thoughts about ep 12 😊. P.S. I loved your thoughts on the Fauxlivia/Olivia scenes and i completely agree with you it’s just so fun to see just far Anna Torv can stretch the physical differences between the two, in general i love Fauxlivia in this episode, she provides such a fun energy to the group!!

An FBI agent driving around in that ridiculous 1st gen electric car is ridiculous. I forgot how much product placement they had in this show

Dakara, all I can say about your reaction is to quote Astrid when trying coffee..."Oh, My!" Perhaps I am too trusting, but you shocked me by suggesting that Astrid lied to Alt-Astrid about her relationship to her father. (BTW, I dislike "faux", I reserve that term for shapeshifters or others trying to fool our characters). Astrid stared into Alt-Astrid's eyes and lied about something that important? I do not believe that. For one thing, Astrid seems too honest to be that good of a liar. But your theories - off the top of your head - are impressive as hell....:) I'm so glad to follow your reactions and analysis. Oh, my!

Neumann

she DID lie, though? she told alt astrid that she's not close with her dad, that he doesn't show much emotion, and that she has to "her herself" that he loves her but the scene immediately following disproves all of those claims. he jovially offers a hug, calls her his baby girl, and plainly tells her he loves her. she lied because it was infinitely kinder than telling her "you're right, it's your fault you and your father weren't close" (obviously it's NOT her fault but that's clearly what she would hear since that's her fear.) she's honest, yes, but she's also exceptionally kind and it's nice to know that her kindness beats out her honesty for such delicate, vulnerable moments

Jasika has an Autistic sister, and used her mannerism's to portray the other universe's Astrid.....

Bit late watching this but it's one of my favourite episodes of the show! Astrid is great and Jasika Nicole plays both versions of her so well.

We needed this Astrid episode and it made me wish we saw more of her. It reminded me that she was relegated to just mainly being an extension of Walter (they all are really) - the comfort character who really is an unsung hero. But again, the scenes she has with Walter SHINE and the actress killed it through both characters playing off each other.
