Another good episode. You do kind of run out of superlatives when talking about this show. Rewatching it this time I find that I really like that they let Michio redeem herself when she took charge and showed her skills as a medic. Telling two captains to step back and she stepped in and without hesitation acted forcefully and well. Also the growth of Clarissa on display again: "Don't ever feel bad about not killing someone." I feel your angst about the series ending soon. I feel the same way about your reactions to it.

The expanse finishes very, very strong! I don’t know how candidates get put into your poll , but would you consider “Clannad” it’s only two seasons and it’s a complete story that has everything considered to be the greatest anime of all time English dub might just be better than the original Japanese

Isak Haugerud

Another great reaction Dakara! Hard to believe you only have two episodes left of this masterpiece 😢 I really loved Drummers speech, especially the end: "Live shamed, and die empty." As for recommendations for a new show to watch; if you haven't seen Band of Brothers, it's an absolute must watch. It's a 10 episode miniseries based on the true story of WW2 US paratroopers. It's so damn good I give it a rewatch once a year, usually around Christmas. The 9.4 rating on imdb should give a good indication of just how good it is. Reactions to BoB also tend to do quite well on YouTube 😉 Chernobyl is another fantastic miniseries, and is only 5 episodes long. Jared Harris plays a leading role and gives an amazing performance (as usual for him). The Wire is my favorite multi-season show of all time, and a crime drama would be a new genre. Can't promise that it would do as well on youtube as the other two, but it's certainly an amazing show!

If you’ve not seen For All Mankind, it’s worth considering. It would sortof bridge genres out as well since it’s alt history space program. Or Andor, actually, whether you’ve seen other Star Wars or not. It’s the first show that’s given Expanse a run for its money as my favorite ever, absolutely must see and it can stand on its own but as part of the Star Wars universe it makes the original series movies better in some ways.

Nice reaction. I think that the girl from the start is taking her friend to that creature. She might be thinking that it can restore him. The scene between Holden and Clarissa is the highlight. What she said was very Zen, and very true. Killing changes you in a fundamental way. Drummer has chosen a side, and Marcos days are now numbered. She should be the one to kill him, I agree with you there. I hope the conclusion is satisfying. On the short, the news that Clarissa is supposedly dead hit hard' Probably the worst sin that any parent can commit is to love one child more than the other, or to not love them at all. As far as suggestions, you can stay on the sci fi by checking out the netflix "Lost in Space". I watched it and it's pretty good. Others in the same genre would be "Babylon 5", or "Star Trek: DS 9"., As far as comedies, I can't help you out much, but a show with offbeat humor is "Castle".

Thadman

I'm gonna 2nd the suggestion of "Lost in Space" because I really liked it and I haven't seen anyone else react to it.

Etta Eskridge

Another Great Episode! I really like the Lucky Earther piece, it hits pretty hard. And Monica looking at the dead UN soldiers, talking about them swimming in the Arabian sea. It just gets me each time. For me the highlight is Drummer. She has reached her breaking point and you are very right to point out that this is now a dangerous Belter on Belter rift. "live Shamed and Die Empty". (One reactor wanted to put that on a T-shirt! ) In the intro, Admiral Duarte is talking to Cara about grief and losing a place (he is talking about Mars). He is the leader of the break out group that fled Mars and dealt war ships to Marco for the protomolecule. The ship in orbit was a protomolecule vessel. This is teasing us about the future books, (there are 3 more, Persepolis Rising, Tiamat's Wrath (my favorite) and Leviathan Falls. ) and our desire to make the last three seasons based on the books. It would be truly amazing!! We can only hope...

PongPong31

I like the way you think!

PongPong31

Two more to go. TWO! I'd have normally encouraged binging the final two episodes straight after this one, but that would mean no Drummer cosplay. And we can't not have that now, can we? We're in too deep. To quote Filip. "There is no turning back now!"

PongPong31

About potential replacements, I second Isak. Band of Brothers is my favourite mini series of all time. It could take some pressure off, while you decide on something for the long term, as it's only 10 episodes, while also fulfilling your want of branching out in genres. Always a sure performer on YT too :)

PongPong31

I always do an annual Band of Brothers rewatch as well. Along with LOTR and Harry Potter lol.

Beat Conductor

Have you heard of a show called From? It's horror. Pretty good. Season 4 is finished filming. Also, you mentioned Game of Thrones, but did you notice the shoutout to House Martell during Drummers speech? Unbent, unbowed, unbroken.

Thadman

I can't think of a better mic drop line than Drummer's "Live shamed and die empty!" SO good.

Thadman

I remember many reactors at the time were throwing their hands up with Filip and thought that he's learned nothing, but I never saw it that way and I was like, "He's going even harder BECAUSE he's doubting his position and he's trying to convince himself that he's always been on the right track by filling the role of ultimate Free Navy officer." You see this type of thing all the time in politics (right-wing politics, especially) where people try to convince you of their opinion by getting louder and going more over-the-top. Ooh, I love "Foundation." You have my vote on that. A short sci-fi show that was cancelled way too soon that I was just thinking about a hour or so ago was "Raised by Wolves."

Thadman

I love the extras, but this might be my favorite, with Clarissa's log entry. I usually call her Peaches because Clarissa died in that prison, as she said herself, but this was about Clarissa and her terrible relationship with her terrible father. Her "I wish..." statements were heartbreaking.

AC10

I would like to officially suggest, that someone else officially request the new Stargate series coming soon...ish (2026-2028). It's assumed to be a real banger. That is all.

DakaraJayne

I watched some of from off camera, I enjoyed it but it was quite scary for me haha.

Magus

Babylon5 has a pretty big following from what I've seen. I haven't finished it myself about halfway into season3 but I now get why people go so crazy for it. Was definitely ahead of its time being a fully thought out 5 season long story in the early 90s when everything was still episodic. If you havent seen it and do decide to give it a try you would want the pilot film first Babylon 5: The Gathering

Dylan Monaghan

Can you imagine if I told you that Clarissa would be one of the most emotionally impactful characters and that you would possibly cry at her pain? You would have told me I was crazy! Gosh I love the storytelling in this show!

Tony Leadholm

This extra got me. 🥹 Flashback to season 3...never in a million years did I ever fathom that a 5 minute solo scene with Melba frickin Koh would carry as much emotional weight as it just did. Clarissa's "I wish you would have loved me" just broke me. The writers truly did some phenomenal work with the development of the Clarissa character. Some great stuff from Nadine Nicole as well. 👏👏👏👏
