I'm back babeh!! Hope you all had an amazing xmas and new year. Back to the usual scheduled programming of life and today is a brand new pilot for you all, enjoy!

Hello All!

Another pilot has hit the channel, it's up to you guys if this becomes a show for my schedule (poll will be posted when pilot selection is complete). Personally, I loved watching this - I felt the cast did a great job at representing the characters and I'm sure it gets better the more episodes watched too. I liked how they explored the family dynamics and the struggles they were facing too. I got quite emotional early on which shows how well they showcased the real life problems considering its a scifi show about superman is always nice to see haha. Again, let me know your thoughts, be careful of spoilers and look forward to reading your comments :)

Much love

I love this show! It's obviously not perfect coming from the beautiful mess that was the arrowverse but i hope you watch it all because it is a really interesting watch with great actors and budget!

Shirlene Wright

Gonna Fangirl for a bit… love Juliette from GRIMM! But .. I am here for the DERRICK HALE DERRICK HALE DERRICK HALE of it all. Yes, I know they have real names but my brain and cheesy smile can’t be bothered at the moment. Okay, gonna watch now. Thank you. 😊

Personally I think this one of the best Superman shows. Tyler and Elizabeth are one of the best Superman and Lois portrayals.

Astor

I haven't watched it for a while, since its end of series. I found it a rather good Superman TV series especially compared with past efforts like Lois & Clark and Smallville (found it too irritating with Lana/secrets stuffs lmao.). So I will check the poll for your new shows. I'm just tagging along with some of the X-Files episodes at the moment to refresh my memories as it was so long ago since I last watched the early seasons.

Martin Hunstone

Not sure what is on your pilot list to watch but this show is always gong to be on the top of good shows. Love the portrayal of superman not just dealing with superhero stuff. But also family and married life. Cast is great. Story is great and the show was given a proper budget to portray the world of superman.

PongPong31

Wohoo! Welcome back. You were definitely missed. I actually saved up a couple of your reactions from last month for this weekend in particular, but here you are already. I wouldn't mind if any of the pilots you've checked out so far were to be picked up. This is a fun show as well. Looking forward to seeing what else makes it on that poll.

DO THIS SHOW. OMG, I cant even tell you how much I enjoyed this show. Yes, okay, Im a big DC nerd, but this was beautifully done show that you will love, Im sure.

Liam Harrold

Updated the poll requests and marked this as completed 💝💝

I watched this pilot when it aired and enjoyed it, but never had the time to actually watch it. So I'd love to watch along with you if you decide to react to it.

Also - when I first watched it, the twins kinda reminded me of Sam and Dean Winchester. Jonathon is a smart ass like Dean, with Jordan being the 'freak' kid with powers who had more arguments with his dad! Plus Jonathon was very protective of Jordan. I think it was mostly because I watched it not long after SPN ended so I was in that head space then lol. Also the colour grading of this show is not typical CW and reminded of the the early days of Supernatural as well.

Liam Harrold

Also Dean cain and teri hatcher new adventures of superman lol

First, I hope you had a nice break. It's good to give yourself some time off and enjoy life. I should say, on behalf of the other members of your page, you were missed. I've been thinking about watching this for some time now, and I hope that it makes it to your watch list. Not quite the same as the comic book Superman, but close enough. Love the idea of them having twins. It provides ... can't think of the term, but it will be interesting to see how Jordan develops. Don't worry about Jonathan not having powers. The writers may play with the idea of him having some of Superman's more passive abilities, but still super in their own right. Not entirely certain what to make of this version of Luthor. I like the idea of him having the armor(it is canon), also him being the last survivor of his world may be a reference to the planet where he gets the armor from in the comics. We'll have to wait and see. P.S. I also sent you something by way of Throne. It should have gotten to you by now. Might have been delayed due to the Christmas season.

I watched this show as it came out and I loved to see a more family oriented version of Clark/Superman that we hadn’t seen before. Seeing Tyler and Elizabeth together onscreen with chemistry after growing to love them on different shows was really nice! Clark naming both of his sons after his fathers was just 🥹! I’d love to rewatch this show with you, Dak!!

Legend. Im assuming you mean pilot requests? 😜 thanks for updating

This show is great! Not as straightforward as previous comic book shows and blends the superhero stuff with a thoughtful family drama. I feel this show is less about the big set pieces (although it does have some of those) and more about us seeing how Superman AND Lois are as parents and how they navigate both real world problems and comic book-y problems. They come across, to me, as more real world versions of the characters we know about and they have to deal with other worldly problems also. Everybody laughs at the glasses thing, even among us comic book readers. It was a simple explanation for a simpler time. The new Superman movie has a comic book-y explanation for it that works, but here, I think the idea was not just the glasses removing convinced them but that along with showing the powers. I've always (thought) I had a good eye for faces, but I discovered that how we see people, even or especially people we're close to, is probably not how others see them. I changed my view of my mother and how she looks or must look to others when I became an adult, long after I became an adult. Like viewing something from a different angle and not realizing what it is until you see it from a familiar angle and it clicks into place. It was weird when that happened and my mother looked like a different person. It had to do with, mostly I think, some feature of hers that I didn't notice, but did later in life which changed my whole perception of her face. Anyway, it's a long specific explanation to say that even without a comic book-y explanation, these things can happen where most people wouldn't recognize someone they might know in some extraordinary (or even ordinary) scenario. When it comes to comic book stuff, I just ask if it's possible, given the rules of both our world and theirs, not if it's probable "because...comics." All of comics are not probable.

Thadman

As a comic book reader, I have a perspective about seeing all these different versions of Superman and can compartmentalize them because DC, since I was a wee babe😋, has always been a multiverse. That was one of the things I loved as a kid, reading all these different stories that took place on different Earths where things would be sometimes slightly different and sometimes MAJORLY different. When "Smallville" came out, people were trying to match it up with things that happened in the comics and trying to see if it was canon to the comics and eventually, in the comics, they confirmed that the world of "Smallville" was on a separate Earth. I forget which because all of the Earths do have designations, but they did confirm that it does exist in the comics. Main reason it was different was that before, in the comics, we'd never seen Clark and Lex meet before Clark became Superman. On some Earths there would be a Superboy, but in the modern history, Clark was never Superboy and he gained his power more gradually, like he did in Smallville. In the worlds that had a Superboy, he had all of his powers of Superman as a baby, he just gets stronger the longer he lives under a yellow sun. So, when this show came out, I had no problems just thinking "OK, what's the deal on THIS Earth?" This show came out after the Arrowverse did their version of "Crisis on Infinite Earths" which rewrote the history of the Earth. Before that event, this Clark and Lois did show up on those shows and Lois got pregnant and had a boy, but after the Crisis, they had twins. History changed. It happened with all the Arrowverse characters. The idea of Crisis on Infinite Earths {in general) was all the Earths combined into one and that's why histories changed. Originally, it was because DC got complaints from people saying it was too confusing having all these different Earths and histories, for continuity purposes, so they had this "Crisis" and rewrote the universe. DC has done this multiple times since that "Crisis on Infinite Earths" which I think was in 1982, so that they can reset things and start anew. The Supergirl TV show started on a different Earth than the main Arrowverse, because even though they were produced by the same team, they were on different TV networks when her show started. After her first season, CBS cancelled it and the CW picked it up because, like I said, same team AND they wanted to create a more full and dynamic DC TV universe. The Crisis put them all on the same Earth. Since this show came up right when they were ending the Arrowverse, I believe that when the 2nd season started, they'd decided to separate this world from the Arrowverse and quietly said that this Superman and Lois are not the same as the ones we saw in the Arrowverse, but are similar. It made them less obligated to stick to the history those shows created and also would stop people asking if this or that hero were going to crossover. I didn't have a problem with any of this. I just get excited to be told new stories.

Thadman

I'm excited for you to see the character dynamics on this show. I feel that they do seem like real people. Meaning, they're not 2-dimensional nor simple characterizations. What we see in this pilot is just one snapshot of particular important days in their lives. I will say that having a brother who was more outgoing, I didn't view Jonathan as not liking his twin, but that this was just his brotherly ribbing, kinda like you said at the end. I was watching closely and even in this one episode, you can see that he does care about Jordan. Being twins, even though they're different, they're gonna be naturally closer with each other than they are with anyone else.
