Hello All!

We have some old, angry, creepy spirits amongst some OAPs suffering with an awful disease in this one. Gung did try to help make their lives slightly easier by getting them all high as kites but sadly it didnt work out smooth sailing for this old folks home...

p.s justice for Michelle

Much love

Gung was correct; it's just that the awakened spirits were angry because of their prior treatment. Basically, it's a criticism of how the West cares for its elderly. He was trying to give them a better life. And getting old is alright as long as you have your health. Once your health starts to slide, it's like a runaway train. I speak from experience.

Alzheimer's is often called "the long goodbye". Patients lose themselves a little bit at a time. It's tragic. Many people that work in that sort of facility might start with high minded ideals, but it doesn't take long for the reality of the situation to set in. I mentioned on another reaction that my mother was a resident at one of those places. She received "adequate" care.(Some of the staff were absolute angels!)

I had a good chuckle at how their sceptic and believer dynamic shifted too. Mulder went from, "You've been hanging out with me too long Scully" at the start of the episode to passionate discourse about shamans and the spirit world at the end haha. You've got Scully's hair colour down btw. Hopefully it's on full display when that eventual cosplay comes around!

Still want justice for Michelle but yeah was an episode that had a lot of topics some of which could be triggering.

El

How did you manage to get through this entire episode without once suggesting that they call the Winchesters? :)

Joe Villalobos

I don't want to ruin a future episode, but Scully would give up everything for Dean.
