Hello All!

Scully deserves better, she's constantly getting attacked and taken from her safe space. Mulder melted me in this one, I love how he responds to Scully and her worries/concerns and the 'I'm fine' (very British btw) tendencies. His response to, 'you need me' being, 'always' ASDFGHJKL I actually cannot with them! Great but creepy episode!

Much love

Scully was showing some of the classic signs of PTSD. The thing that kept bothering her about the case is how closely it mirrored her own experience. Even in her therapy session, she kept talking about herself in the second person(or was it the third?).The victims had no agency, no voice, completely powerless to stop what was happening. So this sort of crime would have hit her hard! The image that she kept seeing wasn't the devil. but an alien. Feeling a little weird about the hair comment I made. It does look great, and it is totally you. You always look amazing!

I knew you were going to be SO FINE after this episode, just as I was. 😂 I love these episodes that advance the intensity and intimacy of their friendship. They love each other, your honor.

If you missed it, the local FBI agent referred to "the kid in Wisconsin." It was a reference to Jeffrey Dahmer (serial killer/cannibal), and the shape-shifting thing was also from one of Jeffrey's victims who escaped and said to police that Jeffrey morphed into a demon and seemed to change his whole demeanor. It's a metaphor for how "we" humanity are the perpetrators of evil in this world. And you didn't cry at the end...I cried when I originally saw this episode, anchoring my fandom.

Like with Toomes' eyes, and a couple of other things yet to come, the image of Donnie's figure morphing into this demonic silhouette, is one of those things that stuck with me through my first watch of the show as a kid. As far as, if it was, "humans are the real devils" visualised, or his true self manifesting, well for me personally, I'd ask myself as I often do, "what would Scully think?" Being confronted by things that seem absurdly real, acknowledging their illogical nature and coming to terms with the irrational state of your own mind at the same time, can be quite the paradox.

I absolutely LOVE the change in Mulder's voice when he asks Scully if she's alright. He can see something is bothering her, but respects her enough to not push for details. The words he speaks are professionally comforting, but the voice he uses is very tender and personal. He shows his care while maintaining professionalism. Its one of the things I really admire about them. The mutual respect they have for each other while their hearts are ba-dumping out of their chests. Regarding the "leave your backdoor open and tell a complete stranger thing", that would not have happened. I am from Minnesota and could *possibly* see that happening in small, rural towns where everybody LITERALLY knows everybody, but not in Minneapolis. Its too big of a city for that kind of nonsense, lol.

I think the reason the cop gave Mulder the long stare after he said "We're going to find her" Is basically him thinking, "You poor fool" because he felt Scully was dead already. That's how I interpreted it anyway.
