Hello All!

Blackhole shadow demon in this one and linked to the main arc! The poor bloke is now getting experimented on and I wonder if Mulder and Scully will find him and uncover further info on the government conspiracies and dodgy goings on?!

Take back what I said the last episode. I'm only three minutes in and you go, "I hate this tie" *Edit* "This tie might be the worst one. Ever." You got it cap. Special ocassion calls for a special rating. 10/10 it is!

Tony Shalhoub was the man with the killer shadow, famous for the series "Monk".(Loved that show.). The "Shadow" (Dark matter/Dark energy)is most likely a representation of the "Dark force". Dark matter is what some people thought was a form of anti matter. Mostly it was in comic books. Beings like Cloak of Cloak and Dagger, The Shroud, Darkstar, and a few others could use it for a variety of purposes. The new deep throat is something of a mystery, isn't he? It's hard to say who's side he's really on. I think one of the catch phrases for the show was "Trust no one,". He certainly makes that true.

One thing I like about this episode is that it shows how far Scully has come since episode one, season one. She looks right at the vent system even when her friend tells her "You don't think anyone could fit through there." She still is a skeptic but she isn't as much as one.

Joe Villalobos

Mr X is part of the bigger conspiracy (The Men in Black, if you will), just like Deepthroat, who used Mulder as a means to an end. Though Mr X is more selfish, cold, and calculated. Deepthroat realized he was also just a pawn like Mulder in the end.

Joe Villalobos

No wonder Monk was a mess, after years of experiments being run on him...

Robert

Never thought about it that way. It would explain quite a lot.

Wreath

I see there are conspiracies here.

Yes Dakara, after the Breaking Bad surprise with Dean Norris popping up in the last episode you have reached the episode that first saw Breaking Bad/Better Call Saul creator Vince Gilligan contribute to the show. Another interesting thing about this one is it is Directed by James A. Contner, perhaps the most prolific Director on Buffy The Vampire Slayer and Angel. Tony Shalhoub ( Monk himself ) does a great job as the frightened, demented Doctor. A really good plot to this one with Dr Banton on the run being hunted down by covert forces, again we have paranoia reaching new levels here. Perhaps the most disturbing thing here is the role of X. Remember when Deep Throat was dying and he said to Scully 'Trust No One' well he was right, do we really trust X any more after his intervention here in catching Dr Benton. A very frightening disturbing ending with Dr Banton enclosed, captured and being experimented on. The tear running down the side of the face is a disturbing ending scene.
