Note: second week of easter holidays (Grayson is back in school Monday) and sadly couldn't manage the usual schedule. Just the one X Files reaction this week BUT I do have The Boys S5E01 reaction that I'll post for tomorrow and then BSG on Friday. Next week will be the usual uploads and hopefully 5x02 of The Boys as an added extra <3 sorry

Their Town is whacked! Crazed on chicken and youthful human soup! I enjoyed the guessing game of this case but seeing Scully bound and gagged yet again wasn't something I'd wished for. She luckily avoided decapitation though so swings and roundabouts 0.O

We should start a pool on the kind of danger Scully finds herself in. Creutzfeldt–Jakob disease is a real thing. I get asked about it every time I give blood. And grinders are also a real thing. Many processing plant have them to grind up the bones, beaks, and feet. As for the smell, I don't know, but my parents one took a train tour around some town some where, and when they got back a local chicken farm was transferring(I think that's the word) the chicken poop and the smell almost knocked them over. As for the cannibalism, it's a topic that has made it's way into a few movies and tv shows. It's not something I like to think about.

Back in the olden days (90s) I worked as a chat host in the X-Files forum for AOL. Someone actually counted up the first 5 seasons of Mulder and Scully being hurt. Believe it or not it was about a tie. I think season 2 was the season Scully got it the worst.

Your reaction was great. I love your acknowledgement that Scully hadn't been bound and gagged in a while. She was due a good throttling...and boy did she get one and then some. This got me off chicken for a few months when I first watched this episode. The thought of eating chicken was revolting. The same thing happened to me with beef after working a summer during a high school break at a meatpacking plant.

I sat here watching this reaction over a chicken dinner. Haha. Gotta keep swole. Really excited for finale week! P.S. Little update on Mulder's ugly tie ratings. The poor guy had actually been on a decent run with the average dropping from a 7.6 to a respectable 6.9, but with two 10/10's in succession, we're back in the game baby! 7.2/10 Haha.

I was just about to send out for some KFC when I re-watched this one. Went straight off it when I remembered Paula went head first into the chicken mix. Kinda Wicker Man vibes here with the strange behaviour, deaths and disappearances of many people in the local area. Old Mr Chaco himself behind all of this. A fairly good episode with some gross out antics of the locals, and Scully once again inches from death. Interesting when Mulder tries to link vampirism and Catholicism as symbolically the reward for eating flesh is eternal life. All in all a good lead in to the stunning S2 finale. An amazing piece of foreshadowing here when Mulder referenced The Anasazi tribe in relation to this episode that I never noticed when I originally watched this.
