Hello All!

This episode explores resentment, suffering, astra projection and how people handle shitty situations very differently! Very interesting X files case episode but also a dark watch too. Luckily Mulder had a decent tie rating to make light of things... phew...

Much love

Sex and the City was a pretty good show, not a great one though. This was a very good episode. They handled the angle of disabled veterans very well. The anger, and sense of loss, the way that society viewed them as persons worthy of pity, and still do. The main focus was a man who blamed everyone else for his situation. He wasn't angry, he was violent. He didn't care who was being hurt, just as long as he got his "revenge". P.S. I hope that you feel better. Be sure to get some rest, and take advantage of any nice weather. Get out and enjoy the day.

Creepy but good, as you say. I like that episode.

Sorry you're not feeling up to snuff, hope you feel better soon. Though this sad episode probably didn't help. I think the main takeaway is that war isn't good for anyone involved. The General and LC (Lieutenant Colonel) were doing their jobs, and so were Roach and Rapo. But one became a casualty of war. But I believe this episode shows that everyone involved becomes a casualty of war, whether they know it or not. And Rapo just made sure everyone knew it. It's a harsh reality that in a war started by lies, the only real winners are the ones who manipulate the battlefield from behind a desk. Rapo was brutally rectifying that.

I love the writing they do for Scully. In general, but specifically in how she deals with misogamy. In this episode and the last, she responded politely but firmly in a "I get that you're sexist but I'm going to do my job, so get out of my way" sort of manner. Like that cop from the 2shy episode "I'm not being sexist, just talking truth". I could not roll my eyes any harder, while also acknowledging that sentence has probably been uttered in several podcasts the past couple years. Gillian Anderson is great.

Two consecutive outros without a comment of the week. I'm distraught. Finished. We've failed her people. 😭 Btw why's your chair patched and multicolored? Haha. Nvm. Loved the reaction.

Again a decent episode hard hitting and intriguing as well. The exploration of PTSD from war very prevalent here, and how the physical and mental scars are always there and can have a devastating affect on those involved. We have had similar type episodes such as Sleepless with Tony Todd where he was able use some type of projection to affect other people. Colonel Stans has tried many times to kill himself, but has always failed saying, "He won't let me die." He says that he sees the shadow of a soldier who is mentally and physically torturing him. Mulder and Scully discover that Stans' family died in a house fire six months before. What is also strange is the fact that other soldiers' families have also died in similar fires. Mulder believes that the quadruple amputee is able to use astral projection to seek revenge. Fav scene is the 'bitch off' between Scully and the female Army Captain Draper, real quick snappy dialogue with Scully coming out on top, again she repeats this when confronting The General. Most shocking scene is when the little innocent boy Trevor dies when covered by the sand. The quality of the stand alone episodes has improved so much in S3, the next one is one of my personal favs from the show, and we are back with a bang.
