Hello All!

Roslyn, baby gurl, you had me scured! Glad she's A okay now! THANK YOU SHARON AND BABY!! Will this turn the tide though? Time will tell. Gaius gave me whiplash this episode, one moment he's doing all he can to save Roslyn (mainly baby) to then handing over a silver suitcase that had a teeny tiny NUKE (I think?) inside!!!! I actually cant! Frack me, this is gonna be a WILD ride!

Much love

Nice reaction. Roselyn calling for Sharons pregnancy to be terminated did seem to come out of nowhere. It was pretty clear that Adama wasn't okay with it, but she was dying and that made it a death bed request. The pro-Cylon activists(not sure what else to call them) are a problem. Misguided, they just want the endless cycle of violence to stop. They see the Cylon attacks as something that's occurring because of the battlestars. Without them, the Cylons would leave the fleet alone. If only it were that simple. Gaius suddenly realizing that the embryonic blood was the key was particularly inspired. It makes sense that as synthetic beings, they would be either resistant, or immune to various "wasting" diseases. Also the reaction that Gaius had to te president's letter was very strange. She was simply telling him, that the job would require him to be his best self. We've seen that he doesn't always put his best foot forward in any situation.

I appreciated your thoughtful analysis after the episode. I think it is great that you dove deeper into the situations beyond the gut-reaction during the episode itself. Well done! I like your take on Gaius. I think you ultimately got to the chaos that is Gauis Baltar! And I think you are asking really good questions about how the events of this episode may or may not affect Roselyn's point of view. I can totally understand her ordering the baby terminated. The human race as a whole is running for its life. WE, as viewers, see Sharon as nuanced and "different" but Laura doesn't have that perspective. She sees another robot that helped when it saved its own life. Do you let these homicidal machines, who wiped out 12 planets full of people, give birth to an entirely new lifeform? If you do, and it's the wrong decision, you have doomed the entire remainder of humanity. So yeah, I can totally understand her initial stance.

This episode really lowered my opinion of President Adare. Maybe it was different in the colonies, but "president doesn't have to explain himself" is a terrible attitude for any leader to have. Regarding Gaius, he is many things, and one of those things is immature. One of the things he is not, is introspective. So when he gets a letter from Roslyn asking him to be a better person and think of other people's needs, he throws a tantrum. He then gives a known terrorist organization a nuclear bomb (not a spoiler, we're supposed to know what it is. The device has a modified radiation symbol on it, and Head Six reminding Gaius of it earlier in the episode). Because nothing says serving the people better than putting them all in extreme danger.

And this is pretty much where I lost most of my respect for Roslin and bit for Adama, especially after his little talk with Kara about how humanity has to be worthy of survival. He doesn’t fully agree with Roslin, just like he didn’t agree about assassinating Cain. He’s only going along with Roslin’s wishes because he doesn’t want to fight with her again, since she’s dying. And for Roslin to follow in the steps of one of the worst things the previous president stated is mind boggling. She went against him then and yet she’s fine with doing it now, quoting him as if he was right. She’s says she’s fighting for democracy, but states she doesn’t have to explain her decisions about killing a baby, just because they don’t know what it COULD be in the future. That’s how governments justify starting wars, the what if’s. Personally, I think this is one humanity’s biggest flaws, we like to destroy the things that are unknown. Science and art are the main things that embrace the unknown, try to learn from it. Either way, if they truly don’t trust Sharon or the baby, then they should have just sent her away with Helo, the way he wanted. It’s utter BS though, because if she was so afraid of this baby, why would you risk injecting yourself with any part of it. She has nothing to loose and everything to gain, so of course she’s okay with it; it means she’ll go on living and keep her power. And at the end there, I feel like she knew she was wrong, which is why she started crying as she looked at Sharon. My whole thing when people generalize and say you can’t trust a Cylon because they’ve hurt humans; it means very little to me because I can generalize humans and say you can’t trust them either for the same reason. You have to judge someone based on their actions and Sharon, at the very least, has proven herself multiple times. She deserves to have a bit of respect and dignity when it comes to her and Helo’s child. Also, I think you’re forgetting that any Cylon’s in the fleet aren’t in communication with the rest of the Cylons. So, they don’t know that Gina (Six) has the nuke. They can’t decide to blow up anything right now.

We assume it's a nuke I'm going to just pretend it's a rather pretty looking ornament 😀 glad they didn't harm the baby that would have been very dark . Another good episode, but let's be real every episode is a banger this show is so good , it's so awesome you started this show dak 🔥🔥
